I had been searching for a good pair of underwear after so many mediocre pairs from other retailers, and i found it with mack weldon. I'm ordering a lot from here now so that i can fill my dresser drawer with all the variety of fun colors. Yes they are on the expensive side, but i think the quality shows. It's worth it to buy enough to become a member to get 20% for all orders. Processing and shipping is always super fast. Never had a bad experience. I've returned two items and they use the "happy returns" with FedEx, just drop it off and the refund was pushed back to my PayPal INSTANTLY before I even walked out of the door! Amazing.
These pants look great and feel great. They are very poorly made. Holes developed around the back pockets the second time I wore them. I emailed. They sent me a replacement pair. The exact see thing happened. I had bought 4 pairs one in each color. All 4 pairs began falling apart with perhaps 6-10 wears. Stitching along the main seams has come undone on all 4 pairs and this causes holes to appear along the seams. The quality is appalling for such expensive pants.
MW was once one of my favorite brands, but sadly I've now made my last purchase. The underwear is fine, whatever, basically like all my other underwear is "fine, whatever." The "cheaper" line of t-shirts straight up suck. Don't bother. The overpriced line is much better quality, but still overpriced. The last straw though are the $80 shorts that are literally glued together, then UNglued. Seams just peeled right apart after a couple washes. (See photo: extra pockets, yay) Crazy ridiculous. Mack is whack. See ya.
The option to ship to Canada is represented to include duties and taxes so you don't have to worry about it later. Unfortunately, I was dinged an additional $43 on a $80 sweatshirt, ultimately leading to me paying $120 CAD for what turned out to be an average sweatshirt. When I reached out to complain, they agreed to refund the $23 shipping amount charged instead of the $43 I paid. Embarrassing experience overall and will avoid going forward. Do not recommend for Canadian shoppers, and only buy if there's a great sale.
They advertise this underwear having no-roll waistband. This is false! The waistband rolls immediately when you put them on.
First I have to say the quality is not bad. Soft cotton and fabric. However what I received originally and what comes out after wash are two different things. All the polos seem to shrink about 1" all over. It's really not idea.
Also the lack of a contact phone number for customer service is quite cumbersome. I recently sent in a customer service request and got an automatic reply stating that it may take up to SIX business days for a response. This is a bit ridiculous.
"international surcharge" is 20%. Claims to be for duties and taxes, but that's ridiculous. Not even UPS gouges that much for brokerage. Charge Canadians more if you'd like, but don't couch it in border costs. Just a scam. Stay away.
PS. Customer service also quite poor.
Mack Weldon makes great underwear, t-shirts and socks. Smart designs. Performance based fabrics. Superior functionality. We are a direct to consumer, e-commerce based business? Which means no more department stores and no more malls? Rejoice!
