It's so pity the rating stars bar starting from one Star. For Kogan.com it should be Zero Stars.

I have have "bought" refurbished smartphone from Kogan at 23 September 2023. Price was around 730 AUD.
It was Free Delivery from Kogan with delivery time from 29 September to 4 October.
Item was " dispatched" by some " seller" at VIC at 25 September and had tracking number. I did track the purchase ofcause, and had notice at 6 October its "in transit" since 26 September.
At 6 October I did start my black journey to get some info about my PAID item's location. Kogan customer service do NOT allowed to customer contact " sellers", now I'm sure, its done intentionally to keep customers away from what happening in reality. At 8 October I have got very first reply from Kogan customer service, only with id number of my multiply emails to them. Obviously it was sabotage of any help, which push me to lodge at 9 October,
Customer enquiry, as the Recipient, to AusPost following my item tracking number. AusPost told they not going to do nothing up to 17 October, which is two weeks after delivery time will expired. Meanwhile they promise investigate this case. They really did it, and 17 October I've got the letter from AusPost they can't locate the item and pronounce it as LOST. Only comment was the item was dissapiered at VIC.
And they recommend to apply to seller, Kogan to discuss the problem
Customer service answer at 11 October was really fairy-tale: they can't delivery my item due some their shipping troubles, they can't replace an item as it's out of stock at their warehouse!
How these people got tracking number still totally unclear.
And bulls&&t about Kogan virtual warehouse --how you like it?
They did offer cancellation of the order and refund at some time at unclear future.
I did ask replacement as on Kogan website everyone can found yet many "sellers" with the same items for sale, and at list dozen+ listings with the same items for sale.
But! For nearly the MONTH from my purchase to today, 19 October, the PRICES of the same items at Kogan site go up at list 10-15 %. And for Kogan is just UNPROFITABLE to do any replacement for my purchase. And to tell true info about all stages of the purchase.
I have paid the purchase which was NOT delivered, plus credit card interest for nothing and now they suppose I should pay more for potential new purchase from this dodgy seller. No way.
So we haven't any other option as lodge Customer complaint to State Traiding Regulator, complaint was accepted. Consideration would take more time obviously,
Meanwhile my money PAID for purchase from Kogan at 23 September would working for Kogan at this time, I still pay great %%% to my bank lender, I'm still in troubles and do NOT have the item I really seriously need.
Very expensive LESSON:
No more Kogan in our life and in the life all ours circles people. NEVER again.
BEWARE of KOGAN, it may put you at unbelievable troubles for yours own money.

Tip for consumers:

I've been loyal customer of Kogan since 2016.
I have an experience of buiying from Kogan, my last Samsung Tablet was bought at 2018 and still working good. I have long interruption at Kogan use , and my " new " experience with Kogan is really awfull, but for small and cheap household items.
Last "Big Deal of deceiving" with Kogan is last dot at any relations with these dodgy company.

Will charge ur card w/o permission spend week 2 come back 2 say " ‍ sorry, can't do anything""
January 4, 2023

Took $350 from my bank without permission (did paypal 1 in 4 & had THAT debited from my account as WELL), in seconds the day after xmas mind you (as a Kogan first member, I'm paying an additional $80 aud yearly for this nonesense), only to find the audacity of being required to raise a ticket in hopes to hear back eventually bc apparently there's no1 to talk to. As some1 prone to poor mental health (to the point it impacts me phsycally) with upcoming bills, this time of year, I'm beyond furious.

Update: Kogan confirmed Confirm that I did try and accepted paypal 1 in 4, and for some reason (bc of invoice not attaching), it did not go through (which is dunny bc I'm still missing THAT payment as well, bc they'll take 2 se inds to take tge money but up to 10 business days to give it back).

Instead of giving me the option to try again, or to try after pay, or even a chance to do literally anything else, Kogan charged my card for the full amount.

The summation of Kogans response to doing this without my permission (I don't even know when Kogan stored my card details) is: yeah, we did take that money, sorry we can't do anything about it.

And as if that isn't bad enough on its own, I'm now getting a chance to open the purchases (which should have only been half paid by now btw) and finding that theres been issues with Kogans products (not just in this order but previous one's as well). The whole thing has been a total mess and is still being managed on my end as Kogan refuses to do anything to compensate or rectify the situation as of yet. Kogan feedback requested I send details, which I have, but am likely going to continue taking this up with my bank, taking it up with the individual purchases to see if they are even worth keeping/replacing, AND going to the ombudsman as a next step.

As someone with 10 yrs of customer service in various industries including retail, this is totally ridiculous.

Seriously, just use catch or amazon even. Bezos may be seen as evil but you won't have this headache at least.

About non consumer practices
October 13, 2022

Unfortunately, Kogan is focused only on maximizing profits. This is evidenced by hundreds of negative opinions of disappointed consumers. Kogan is a network of hundreds of companies trading in various products from various fields / industries. These companies sell goods / products imported from the Asian market. And all this under the name of KOGAN. Everything is released for final sale online (because it is cheaper) in Australia, but no one controls the quality. Nobody checks the compliance of the products with their description and specification. There is no institution in Australia that would control, then check and certify products before they are released for sale. There are also no penalties for companies that regularly break commercial procedures. There are such consumer protection procedures in Poland, Germany and many other EU countries. In our Australia, this haos and "commercial wrestling" are currently being won by tricksters and swindlers. Australia's ACCC does nothing to protect consumers. This institution is the peak of incompetence, idleness and wasting millions of dollars from our taxes (the ACCC's budget is nearly $ 305 million in 2021). ACCC Should be dismantled and another institution with effective legal and executive tools should be established to protect every consumer, not institutions.
Coming back to KOGAN, I felt cheated twice by this company. For the first time a few years ago - I bought a TV set whose electronics reacted very sluggishly and with a long delay to attempts to change anything. I was forced to sell the TV. A few months ago I purchased an industrial SHOGUN heater. On the website, Kogan advertised as a carpet dryer, very efficient with visible thick, efficient spirals. In fact, the potentiometer was malfunctioning. It was not possible to steady / change the blow force that was weak. The spirals did not heat up enough as it was described as an industrial unit. I decided to return the product. Unfortunately, here KOGAN started the game of delay or "fatigue" of the consumer. Although I have the right to return the goods within the first 7 days, Kogan demanded to send a film proof that the goods do not work as it should. As in the movie, prove that the blowing is not strong enough and the potentiometer does not change the speed of the fan. How can a movie capture this? Besides, they have strange limits on the server that even a 10-second movie would not fit. KOGAN offered me a 15% discount which I rejected. In order not to waste my own time, I suggested replacing this heater with another, the same but free from defects (if they are sure that the others are good!)... Waiting again, but finally they decided that I would send this device back to them. Wasting time finding a courier company that works regionally with KOGAN (customer has to deliver). Finally, I waited two months for the refund because KOGAN had problems confirming that they had received the parcel...
As you can see I will not recommend KOGAN because it is a jumble of unreliable people. A company that does not care for consumers but for its own profits. It is a waste of money and free time that we ordinary people have less and less. Today it is very easy and simple to spend money, but to assert your basic rights as a consumer is a lonely fight against ghosts in Australia.

KEEP WELL AWAY FROM KOGAN
February 24, 2022

I have bought some items from Kogan, very close together and regretting it BIG TIME!

3 FAULTY ITEMS so far and counting!

I agree, I should have probably purchased one to see how the company performed but some of the prices seemed good and the REVIEWS, well let's say they seem too good to be true now I've seen the light!

Seeing as reviews of the items are in order from 5 Stars downwards not in DATE ORDER.
This is not a true reflection! I found lots of reviews that are 1 star from days ago and 5 stars from months ago. I believe that's deceitful.

Trying to get your money back under AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW is like trying to get blood out of a stone.
They will try everything to not do this.
I had a fault with numerous Kogan branded items, each time you are delayed in addressing the fault by silly questions about trying this when it's clearly faulty and that then it's all about replacement and not refund…. REFUND is a very bad word for Kogan. I'm very sure staff are trained to do anything but grant this.

Email response times on queries and concerns take days to answer only to be left more frustrated and wished I'd bought local or from a more responsive and proactive company.

Customer service are Rude and Abrasive. They just rather get rid of you, put you through hoops
For days or just give you the run around hoping you'll get bored and go away.
This is such a long journey!

Returns take days and days to organise because of the delays and self testing requirements and then there's the 14 day period that they have to check the product is faulty then the shipping of the new replacement. They say the replacement has been shipped but don't send a tracking number. How can the replacement be shipped when it's then said it's still in dispatch and they can't pull it out so you can have a refund under AGAIN, AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW!
This tactic is very malicious to the buyer. Saying a replacement is coming but in fact it won't be until your item is checked. Is it shipped or in dispatch waiting checking. It can only be one or the other.
Overall It took 2 months for ONE purchase to be resolved even thought I asked numerous times for my money back, even before returning the item and quoting my rights. They are just ignored with "Thank you for your patience"
Another issue then starts which is I won't get any of that warranty back for the purchase in the 2 months lost!

When they finally refund it always comes with a sarcastic remark, thank you for shipping with us!

Kogan are very deceitful and the items are certainly not worth the smaller price tag both in quality and customer service/support. It comes with too much stress and dissatisfaction.

You would expect quicker and better support, Kogan should know better seeing they have been referred to the ACCC and Choice many times for these practices.

Stick to your guns and ask for a refund. If they don't comply then report them.

I have asked for a refund of my membership because they are not performing to a satisfactory standard and have very poor products

I personally would avoid KOGANS OWN PRODUCTS. They have been a nightmare for me

Kogan were supposed to talk to me about canceling my membership, the credit I have and the terms but they just canceled it and haven't seen a refund

It's pathetic

Tip for consumers:

Stay away from Kogan, they have an automated
response to reviews that the show as they are going to act on your review but never contact you. It’s terrible service and know one to call

This is my first and last time shopping with Kogan!
February 20, 2022

This is my first and last time shopping with Kogan.

February 3rd I ordered a portable air conditioner to be sent express post. Delivery was meant to be February 9th-11th.

It didn't arrive so on February 14th I contacted Auspost because I noticed that my express package now had a delivery date of 22nd-24th February which I found unacceptable for express post.

Australia Post explained that since Kogan did NOT sign the dangerous goods declaration and didn't submit my parcel correctly they could not send it express post and therefore it's send regular mail and now delayed.

I paid extra for express post and I paid extra for the express post but it's now being sent normal post. I don't feel as though I should be paying for express when a Kogan employee did the shipping incorrectly.

I have been emailing daily, sometimes twice and three times a day since February 14 trying to get this sorted and I'm not getting any helpful responses. I am being ignored and it is very frustrating. I am really not appreciating being ignored by a company who I have a lot of money to.

The responses from Christine J at the help desk have me so frustrated because they're not reading what I'm saying properly, I'm even sending screen shots of australia post explaining the issue and they're ignoring what I'm saying and just telling me that there are road delays - yeah, I know, that's why I ordered express, on a plane…. I have now emailed 12 times in the last week asking for my express post refund and not once has anyone responded to that particular part of my emails.

Edited to add: I didn't think anything else could get worse! However, Kogan are so bad at listening to what their customer wants and they have requested a return to sender from australia post without my say so AND STILL NO WORD OF A REFUND AT ALL. This isn't what I asked, I asked for a refund for express shipping they screwed up. Long road ahead to get my $300 back it seems now.

Tip for consumers:

Just don’t.

Products used:

None yet, they haven’t arrived due to Kogan not shipping it correctly. Now they have recalled the package from australia post without my authority.

They are incompetent and dishonest.
June 23, 2020

I absolutely hate Kogan

I have already told them I do NOT want their spammy marketing emails, and yet, everytime I log in and buy something, after going through all the absolute "filling out webforms / pages" of having TOLD YOU that I do not want any marketing emails, you resume doing it again.

You can tell Ruslan that if this continues I shall meet with him to discuss his and your unethical business practices with him, face to face.

I shall also be lodging the matter with the ACCC under the do not spam act.

Secondly I am thinking about buying another product.

I have told you that I do not want anything to be sent by Australia Post - I really don't give a care - I want it sent by courier.

So I am going to buy it and I want it sent by courier - NOT Australia Post, and NOT by StarTrack - which is again, Australia Post.

Why? Because the person with irrational ideas about customer service, who runs the local post office, likes to play games, such as not even making any effort to deliver, and then they say, they refused to pick it up, and then they return it to sender...

And this can go on for MONTHS.

With Afailure Posts's last round of incompetence, of switching off all the scanners, so the glut of Covid 19 parcels could transit the system faster, so no one new where anything was (we the paying consumer) and having been a recipient of Australia Post's "make work by 10 times per package" parcels went missing and or took months to arrive - with no notification that they had arrived at their pick up points...

I insisted that Kogan send things by couier and what did they do? They sent everything by Australia Post.

Kudos for bad customer service.

Very Disappointed - Crappy Customer Service
February 27, 2020

Hopefully this review won't be taken down as the last 2 reviews I've posted about Kogan have been removed - good to see they can't handle the truth from customers.

Wrote a detailed review on the lack of customer service help and lack of assistance received by Kogan on items overcharged...

Review was posted - went looking for my review... and guess what - can't find as it has been removed by the Cowardly Kogan team - guess they can't handle the truth on treating their customers like criminals.

So this is review #3 and it is going to be just as juicy - keep deleting my reviews and I will keep reposting them so that everyone can see what Kogan customer service are like.

Purchased dishwasher tablets and rinse aid for dishwasher from a frugal Friday email from Kogan only to be overcharged - when I questioned this overcharge after placing my order, I was treated in a condescending criminal way as though I was trying to extort money from Kogan...

So as a "GESTURE OF GOODWILL" as supplied by the customer service dept - I was only credited the difference back to my Kogan account NOT my credit card that was used (NOT IMPRESSED) then received follow up emails for feedback and how well my orders went etc - SERIOUSLY...? WTF? You can take your credit and shove it where the sun will never shine:)

As I stated previously, I have cancelled all my subscriptions and marked Kogan emails as spam - because lets face it - they are scammers and extortionists of stealing money from customers - and I don't want any contact after the fact that you want to help me out and fix things when Kogan had the chance to do this at the start (stop sending me emails and asking for my feedback).

Maybe looking after your customers and treating them with respect will get you somewhat back in the good graces - and not deleting reviews as this is the lowest form of scumbags you could possibly be.

I would rather pay twice as much money on items and be treated like a normal human being than save money and be treated like a criminal by Kogan.
