I have been ripped off for $150.00 and filed a complaint with the California Attorney General at the recommendation of my credit card company.
Here is the site to file a complaint:

Thanks for the reviews. I saved my $150. I regirested on this webtoday, but as it's asked my credit card information, i got a doubt and checked for reviews. These guys are making lot's of money by fooling others. STAY AWAY from this.
Total Scam! Like the rest I was scammed out of $150.00. I just filed a complaint with the attorney general's office in California (Jumbocloseouts home state). I plan to report this to the FBI and as many others as possible. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!
I agree with all the previous postings. On one auction for an iPad, there was a bidder named "Brozsko76" who placed over 4500 bids. That computes to $2250! Who would spend that kind of money on a $499 item? I believe that I was bidding against the house. A total ripoff and poor selection. Try QuiBids instead. At least there is a bigger selection and you have a chance.
Rip off plain and simple. And you talk about bank execs come-on man these are people you need to look out for.
Well, I was fooled just like everybody else. In fact I called multiple times until I finally talked to someone. When I did I threatened to take extreme avenues to get my money back. I then was told to email the billing department and I could possilby get some money back. After not hearing back from the billing department, I decided to call over and over again and then threatened to report them to the authorities.
I was then literally talked into doing what's called a tier 3 promotion. Where instead of $150 they would refund me $100 and I would still hang on to the 300 bids... that was on Friday 07/30. It is now Thursday 08/05 and I haven't seen any refund!
I also went on and tried to win by bidding only to confirm what everybody else said... It's a complete joke! Who in their right mind would waste that much money only to pay some more money on an item! SCAM!
I'm going to report this site to the FBI... everyone should join me. Simply go to the FBI's website and you will find a link where you can report fraudulent websites.
Good Luck guys!
THEY CHARGE YOU $150.00 just for signing up. The bids that i got were supposed to be free for first time signers. The site is a rip-off
To tell another story like the above. I am very cautious buying online, and this time got fool! I just wanted to register to see how the website works, after I read a review in the news...(looked like a serious one, and not an advertisement-although it should have been at the end) So I registered: they asked me for the information of the credit card, there was my first uncomfortable situation. But I gave the information. Based on the news review. And that many websites will have it but they will charged your credit card after you confirm about it. There was not any summary at the end to say that your total is: 150$ and confirm to proceed to check out. NOTHING! I had to realize that they charged me 150$ afterwards, when I betted a couple of times, and wanted to see whether they charged the credit card, one by one the bits.! Even it has the fine prints to tell you afterwards that you need to buy online the bits before you bet, that is not written anywhere the time you register neither asks your aggrement to do so. Another sign that the website is not good, was the fact I wanted to change the username and I could not! My information was locked there and I cannot change it for their own reasons! I got upset with the fact! While registering I skipped or even did not had the chance to put a username and they assigned me my full name by the end, which I did not want to disclose!
The website deliberately misleads its users. It has all the characteristics of a spam and as I read around here. That people bit way more money that the actual price. I have left some bids. Never used them to observe how things work first and now I feel like not even using them. I lost 150$ and as I see here am not going to be able to claim them back. Thus the only way I can go form now on, is to give such bad reviews and report the website... PLEASE if you have the same experience do the same!
Same as everyone else i gave them my $150 and now can t even find the site. Will dispute the charge
I want to warn everyone to stay away from this site. It hooks you by the pictures and a commercial that runs from a site that (Consumer Tips Digest) that shows ppl winning great things like computers, cameras and Apple products and it even had a special running until July 31st. Well it was July 30th and I just signed up to be added to the site for when I WOULD BE ABLE TO USE THE SITE.
Little did I know that I would be charged $150.00 just to be able to use the site when I could down the road. I had no funds to cover the charge and it put my acct. In Overdraft and charges for insufficient funds. I tried to call and got no answer, but did leave a msg. I emailed and still got no response.
My bank called them and show them where the info was about the charge and I felt so stupid. It was truly a misunderstanding on my part and my bank is working with me to handle the matter. Stay away, far, far away if you're not ready to be charged the fee to join this site.
DO NOT JOIN THIS SITE! I was sucked in by the review I saw from the media folks. The site appeared to be legit at first look and I should have looked past the laptops and ipads that were being auctioned off and been more careful about reading the fine print. After joining, I even took the "advice" of a previous "winner" whos method was to get a lot of bidding packages, or bidpacks (only saw 50 and 100 bid sizes) so that he had a lot of bids to use on something he wanted. I managed to win several of the 100 bidpacks before I realized that the cost of each was within $24 + or - $2 each and decided to stop. In fact, each new bidpack auctioned off started at $23 or better before the first bid was made. Not quite the $0.05 for the 300 bidpack that they show for a past winner. I also saw that I wasn't getting any credit for the bidpacks. What raised the red flags was when I tried to contact their 'live person' via ichat to ask a question and did not get any response. I decided to wait until today to check the site again, and what I saw made me realize that this site had to be bogus.
As Ed A. Noted, a MrHurrel was the big autobidder on a macBook laptop. I first saw this auction around 3 PM on August 2nd when he was bidding and the price was less than $100 for the item. Today, at 9AM he was still bidding against another autobidder and the price was $350 and rising. As of 1140AM, it is over $411 and the primary bidder is 'jbaston' who is bidding against 'Amit Schater 101'. Apparently, MrHurrel quit, ran out of bids, or someone told the people running the site about this Ed's review and they changed bidders.
Doing the math and being very conservative, and assuming MrHurrel only made 10% of the bids (unlikely since he was in 'autobid' mode since 3PM the day before), at a bid of $350, that is ******* bids, at $0.50 a bid, resulting in $17,500 being spent bidding on a MacBook laptop you can buy anywhere for $999. MrHurrel's 10% would come to $1,750 and he has quit the bidding, which means he gets NOTHING for the money he spent. Who would even consider going that in an auction unless MrHurrel is fictional, as is jbaston who was bidding against him since yesterday as well.
What to do about this (if you took the hook as I did) is to call and cancel the card used on this site and report it as fraud. Since no merchandise was delivered (I never got credit for the nebulous bidpacks I won, even though they charged my card), so I simply stopped the charges. That is the beauty of using a credit card. You will have to fill out some paperwork for the card company but chances are you will not have to pay the charges since they were pending anyway (especially if you act quickly to call the card company). If you are a good customer and had never done anything like this, the card company will most likely be on your side. Also, they expect to see fraudulent transactions in their business, and even if the money had been transferred to the other party, they may just write the expense off as the cost of doing business.
Sure enough. I was considering checking it out, but this review thread got me checking things out and it's buried in the terms and conditions:
8. BIDS
Bidding rights or bids ("Bids") must be purchased and paid for by you prior to online bidding. When signing up you will be charged $150 for 300 bids.
Thanks for saving me $150!
An absolute rip off. I signed up on the evening of 7/30 after reading a news article online about the site. I read the privacy policy and there was no mention of the $150 fee for signing up. I have requested a refund several times and this was the reply "I am so sorry but all bid packs purchased are non refundable. That money is used to buy products and the amount of money spent on products is based on users. I hope this does not cause you too much heartache. Email me with any questions. I am here for you." I have entered a dispute w/ my credit card and I have called and left a message w/ the company. DO NOT SIGN UP!
This is rip off. I new it was a rip off, but when the fricking news channel (forgot what channel was) made a positive report about this site, I gave a try. Well, unlike the other members, I new that they will charge you $150 dollars upon the sign up. The issue i noticed is that, some members bid from the beginning to the end of the auction, and they win. I calculated the bid amount this member placed, does not make any sense. Any rational person would not waist $2,500 for a $1,200 macbook. I think the website is specially programed such that there is no macbook at all, or may be some. It is set up such that rips people off by selling them bids at 50 cent each. Just within two hour I waisted $300 dollars and could not even win the bidding cards like they said that it was easy to win. I placed bids, but it would not except it on time or just would ignore it. Sometimes when time runs out, my placed bid will show up on next new auction (same item). The only thing I won is jewelry that still I had to pay the winning price. Oh yes, I spent another $150 on winning the $120 dollar item, that I won for around $5 plus $9.99 shipping and handling. On the auction it said that it is $4.95 for the shipping, so where the hell the additional $5 came from. Tried to get hold of somebody, no success. Right now I am watching Macbook that is over $110 now, and every other bid was made by member under the name MrHurrel. I ran out of bids to keep up with this guy, and many other members jumped in and they probably ran out from the bids too. But this MrHurrel probably put $2,500 so far for this macbook. This is obviously a scam. There is no way that someone actually would do that. This person probably not even a person but a program. Do the math: this member is responsible for more than $50 dollar increase. Each bid is 50 cent that adds only one cent. So, this member made 5,000 bids that cost him/her/it 50 cent each or $2,500 in total. I learned my lesson. Expensive one. I hope this website and its creators get sued and molested in prison.
SAME AS OTHER COMPLAINTS. I HAD SPEND 3 HRS TO CHECK ON THE BID, AND FOUND OUT THAT THEY PUT AN AUTO BIDDER FROM THE INSIDE TO RISE THE UP THE BID. IF YOU PAY ATTENTION YOU WILL SEE THAT ONE MOST COMMON BIDDER GO FROM THE BEGINING TO THE VERY END OF THE AUCTION. LOOK LIKE THIS PERSON WANT TO PAY 10X THE RETAIL PRICE.
I signed up for jumbocloseout without reading all of the terms, then saw that i was charged 150.00. This happened on july 28th. I have watched this auction very closely, I mean hour after hour, day after day. Just yestherday I saw two Apple Macbook Computers, both were down to 2 mins. On the timer and all of sudden they jumped to 2 hours. I also noticed names that would pop up on autobibber everyday and just run the price up. I mean it would cost them hundreds of dollars for the amount of time they would spend on autobibber. I did autobibber last night in the amount of 50.00, it ran out in less then 2mins. These other names would go for 3 and 4 hours at a time. So I made a complaint last night. I never got a reply back, but this morning I had all my bids back that I used on autobibber. I did win an auction on my frist day, it was a bidpack and I had to pay for that. I have alot of bids left, but I can't stand the thought of setting through another auction. I don't mind taking a chance with my money, but I do mind being riped off. I would say stay away from this site
Same complaint as the others. I rechecked the fine print and still not seeing where there is anything about being automatically charged the $150. Definitely beware of this site. Has anyone been able to recoup their loss?
It is all true what they say about them having a great business model. Wish I had thought of it first. But all of these people are idiots who don't read the fine print before agreeing to the "terms and conditions" They disclose all of what these people are complaining they had no idea about. It isn't their fault you agreed to what they advertised.
It's a ripoff. When you sign up, you are immediately charged $150 for 300 bids, even though you haven't bid on anything yet. Bidding involves clicking on a bid button that increases the bid price by a penny. If a $200 item sells for $60, that's 6000 bids. They make $3000 just on the bidding! I'm not waiting around to see if they actually ship the merchandise. I already cancelled my credit card.
Beware of this site. I signed up and they debited my account for $150. I talked with customer service and found out I couldn't get out of it. I decided to try my hand at bidding and couldn't even find a place to sign on to my so-called membership. I've closed my bank account and I will be filing a dispute to recoup my money. Stay far away from this one.
Answer: Calling your credit card company does not work because of note 8. In this sites terms and conditions. You need to file a complaint on line with the California Attorney General. This is not an auction, but more like a lottery or in reality a Ponzi scheme which is illegal.
