The quality of their products is great. They have a wide selection of products. Their website is absolutely terrible. It freezes up and its impossible to navigate. I have been trying for over an hour to place an order. Then gave up and deleted the email offering a discount. Got so frustrated. Just gave up. They lost the sale. This is not the first time this has happened to me. Someone should look into why the site freezes up. The must lose a lot of business. They just lost mine. Just tried to continue to submit this review. Don't have proof of purchase because I wasn't able to maker a purchase!
I was in Joann's in Tyler last Saturday and a young lady named Amanda was very kind and knowledgeable. She made some helpful suggestions and just went the extra mile. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
When it appeared obvious that my package was lost/missing I contacted "customer care". They simply repeated the tracking info I provided to them. Since they were unwilling to do anything I contacted USPS directly. They confirmed the items were missing but can only make arrangements for reimbursement with Joann directly. I provided the case number two days ago, still no response.
The site is either slower than the 2nd coming or broken...yup! They have a sale going but what else is new? Now that I think about it this is the reason I quit this site b4...grrr...poor marketing...
This was the LAST CHANCE Joann...bye-bye...
Been making baby blankets for years out of flannel and their fabric is tissue paper thin now and overpriced!
Every time and I do mean EVERY - their system overcharges me for fabric cuts. Always check your tickets!
Re: Coupons
What kind of cheap crap is JoAnn Fabrics doing! At one time you were able to use as many coupons that were applicable for your purchase. Ex: 20% off total purchase, $10.00 if you spend $50.00 or more and your Military Discount. Now you have gotten so cheap you can only use one coupon at a time! What is worse is if you do use a discount coupon you cannot use your Military Discount! How unpatriotic is that! Evidently your CEO is a pansy who has never served in the Military, Shame on you.
Today, as many times before, I had a dispute with one of the Jo Ann staff members about my question if she would please cut the plaid material I was buying on the "plaid line?"
She was adamant that that could not be done because the material "wasn't straight" to begin with.
Plaid fabric is woven however, so it is straight coming off the loom, but it gets warped on the bolt. Cutting it on the plaid line means it is straight and perfect for the customer to work with!
As the material was already precisely cut on the plaid line at the end of it, she then cut it "straight" by the groove in the table so now it was NOT straight to begin with which forced me, the customer, to buy even more fabric than needed as the staff member also cut my offcut NOT on the plaidline, but STRAIGHT according to the "groove line" on the cutting table.
I understood she doesn't know how fabric is manufactured and that it is easy for employees to work with a "straight" cutting groove.
The staff member then told the person she was "training" that it is just "impossible" to cut any plaid "straight", which is simply NOT true.
Plaid fabric is the easiest fabric to cut straight!
Consistently I am forced by this notion to have to buy more material than I need (convenient for Jo Ann's business) because the employees are not trained properly!
This aggrevation, together with the stores always being in whatever state of chaos, with depleted shelves, from no needles to limited thread, zippers not available, to unorganized pattern tables, books and drawers in shambles and crappy selection in all departments is to put it simply, shameful!
When you add in your coupon no discount is taken. Then you read the fine print and see why the coupon for such as "15% off total purchase " is not valid. Then you apply "free shipping" and they actually charge a small amount. I tried 15% entire for healthcare workers sine I am a nurse and that doesn't even work. Ugh.
My orders, when using coupons, get cancelled, but when paying full price they seem to go thru. Apparently they didn't pass the verification process? Called that department, left several messages, no one ever gets back to me. This has happened several times over the past few months, I even called my order in…same issue, and customer service states they cannot help, it has to be verification dept., that deals with this. Sale items and coupons seem to trigger this, but they let you pay full price without any verification issues?!?
I placed an order for 3 yards of Liberty of London fabric (customer has to order full yard pieces) at $34.99 so a total of $106.92 and it came in two pieces. There is no indication anywhere in the process of placing an order that it may (did) come in two pieces. The most upsetting part is when I called customer service I got OUT OF COUNTRY person, who is passive aggressive and kept calling me sir! Further stating JoAnns has no responsibility as it is posted under Shipping. Really, shipping! At the bottom of the website and the second to the last paragraph. Why is it not somewhere during the ordering process? Whoa to the person who orders any Bridal fabric. As a result of the "I don't care attitude" I will post this every place I can find and of course will only shop there as a very last resort! Customers do not matter to this corporation and it is painfully apparent. There regular prices are way higher than retail on many items so a sale only brings the price to "normal" retail.
I traveled 1 hr from where I live to go to what I thought was a reputable sewing store, joann's, to buy a sewing machine. Their store price match, return and refund policies are NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. If you need a refund of what you paid cash for of anything over $100, you have to wait 2 weeks for a check. They won't give you your original form of payment back if it was cash. They DON'T MATCH THEIR ONLINE PRICE. I could have saved $68 if I ordered online what I bought in person. They would rather pay for shipping of a heavy sewing machine than to match the price in person which cost me gas money and my time. And if you want to return an unopened box with your receipt, you have to pay a $25 restocking fee. Everyone else beats these drawbacks such as Walmart, Amazon and target. They don't charge restocking fee and they price match.
This company is ill run and antiquated. I will never buy another thing from them again. Awful customer service. Brick wall to try to get through to someone with common sense. Just all around a lousy experience. Go anywhere else to shop!
I entered my online order with all correct information, but the website would not give me the bolt discount so I called customer service before I placed the order. After 3 different people the order was placed with discount on their side. They misspelled my street name and forgot the unit number. When I checked with FEDEX I got the street corrected, but because of the JoAnn system they could not add the unit number. 3 calls and emails later I'm driving to FEDEX to get my order.
2 days ago I went to my local joann's and purchased 6 packages of black binding tape, using all my coupons. Today when I went to start my project I realized that I had purchased.25 inch vs.50 inch. I went back to the store today asking if I could exchange them for the correct size, the gal said no problem and returned the money to my card. I went and found what I needed and brought them to the same cashier. She rang them up and it was $5 and some change, higher than my original purchase! I asked why and was told it was because I didn't have coupons for this sale. Unbelievable!
I had a small issue and I wrote to them on Instagram, they helped me within a few minutes and solved my issue. Kirstie was very helpful and kind.
February 23rd of this year, I placed an order in store for 20 skeins of one yarn, and 42 skeins of a second variety of the same yarn. I received no confirmation emails, no shipment updates, and my card was charged for this $200.00 plus order. One month later, I had received no product, no package tracking emails, and my card had still been charged for this order. I spent several days on the phone with customer service reps that I could barely understand, and received emails from some higher up lady in customer service with a snippy attitude implying I was lying about the charge to my card. Then crickets. I was told to place my order again through the customer service call center ( this is not an attack against the call center employees, they were doing the best they could and none of this has been their fault, and they have been more helpful than anyone else in JoAnn Corp. I have spoken with) so I did. I received that order promptly, with emails of tracking information. But there was also $1000.00 worth of holds placed on my card for said 2nd order. Okay, I'll keep an eye on that I told myself to make sure I was not actually being charged that amount and it totalled up to what the order cost was supposed to be. Inconvenient, yes, but a huge deal? No. Everything comes in, holds on my card come off. End of story, right? Wrong. I receive an email this morning before 6am with 5 new tracking numbers. I call customer service again, the call center lady I spoke with is really nice, trying to be as helpful as she can. This is supposed to be the shipping of the in-store order that I placed to begin with. The same order that I was assured by the snippy higher-up customer service lady, that the order had been canceled without notifying me, and that I had indeed not been charged for said order, even though I was looking at my banking statements that had the charge on it. So now, an investigation has been opened. Guess we will see what happens. Just keep this in mind when you shop with JoAnns in the future.
Don't buy any electronics from this company. You can't return them. They lie & say you can to make a sale. I am no longer a customer of Joann's after 40 years and thousands of dollars spent over a refund of $80+ dollars.
I placed an international online order, within 8 hours of my purchase the product went on sale half off. I immediately emailed for either a price adjustment or to cancel my order, instead they told me it has already shipped, though a few days later I referenced the tracking info and it hadn't shipped when they said it had. I contacted them and was told they would provide a price adjustment. Then "Sandra Vargas" said that they would not and could not help me. They do not honour their word, she refused to provide me their price adjustment policy after requesting it multiple times she said they had but I never recieved it. I would steer clear, their online ordering system is a scam. Their customer service is so horrendous it feels like I'm being pranked.
I've attached screenshots of this mess they call customer service
Today I received the worst service ever. The male and female worker that was working today around 6:40PM was very rude and not helpful at all. I am aware that the store was closing in 20 mins. I only need some boning and neither workers were willing to help. The customer service I received deserves a ZERO!
No surprise as to the review this company gets. We ordered a sewing machine online and it came broken. No way to print a return label and we need to pay for shipping back. God bless Amazon. Than we took it to the store and they would not take it back and when I asked Debra for her Regional Manager she said she did not have one. I asked her for her boss and she said she did not have one. This was the Boynon Beach Federal Highway store. Stay away.
NEGATIVE STARS. If your prefer doesn't go through a pending charge will apply to your card.
It will tell you to review your information and try again EVERYTIME you do it will add a pending charge even if your order doesn't go through. NEVER AND I MEAN EVER give Joann.com your financial information!
Answer: I feel the exact same way. They cancelled an order I placed online and they never contacted me to tell me the order was canceled. I waited three weeks for an email to come pick up an item. I could have had this item 3 weeks ago from Michaels craft store. JoAnn's sucks!
Answer: Don't order anything from Joann. Go to a flea market or Hobby Lobby who gets your order correct and treats you by the Golden Rule. Joann is terrible and I am still waiting for a refund wherein they charged my account twice for the same order. Run!
Answer: Joann online are thieves and liars. We all need to get together to file a class action lawsuit against them for charging customers twice for the same order and then shipping wrong merchandise. This isn't an innocent mistake... it is planned. The only way to stop them is via a class action lawsuit.
Answer: Depending on which Joann store take your order. The reps are so untrained and very incapable of handling a simple online order at the Menomonee Falls Wisconsin location. They will cancel your order without your knowledge and when u call, they will tell u it will be ready by the close of business. It's, not ready than and when u call back they will say, it will be ready the next day. In all reality they messed up on purpose. ONLY IN MENOMONEE FALLS WI have I always experienced this type of treatment
