Worst experience ever
October 9, 2023

Beware, worst experience ever! Canceled half my order because they didn't have it in stock and it took two weeks one by one. Received broken earrings and they wouldn't refund right away because my order wasn't finished. Had to work with over five customer service reps still working on trying to get my refund. Stay away!

I went to a Joann Fabrics store for the first time in many years this past weekend. The store was very disorderly and very understaffed. In fact, it was so understaffed that while I was there they made an announcement that they were closing at 3. On a Saturday. With the store filled with customers. The fabric cutting station was also closing early, of course. With a line of about ten people waiting to get fabric cut. It was a bad situation. I was luckily able to get some fabric, but not nearly as much as I really wanted. I felt terrible for the employees working there.

So I then went online and placed an order. Tuesday morning I placed an order, figuring I could make the drive to go pick up my finished order later that weekend. Then Friday morning I got an email saying some of the things I ordered were out of stock. When I checked, everything I had ordered was out of stock. They had cancelled my entire online order.

This business is not running well at all anymore. It's a shame because they have good products and they certainly have the clients that want to buy those products. I think they really should just go ahead and close down everything because it is not working anymore.

Worst customer service
September 26, 2023

I ordered items from Joann's online several days ago, and to date have not received notification that the items have shipped or when they will be shipped. I contacted customer service 3 times still without the courtesy of a reply as to when my items will be shipped. Email is the only method of contact so talking to a real person is not an option. I recommend using another vendor when ordering online. A one star rating is one star too many!

Customer service and quality of purchase

I have always had great service in the store and often use online to purchase fabric. I use a variety of fabrics and find that the quilt fabric is comparable to what I get in the quilt shops. The generic fabric is a good alternative to the more expensive quilting fabric and serves the purpose when I'm doing other projects that don't require the same quality. I appreciate having the flexibility to choose different grades of fabric to suit my project requirements. I recently bought some fabric on line and was pleased to see that it was as shown. And again the process of picking it up in the store was simple and the customer service was good. The only thing I have to say could be improved is the ease of using the website..

I recently purchased an 8-foot animator skeleton model from Joanns for Halloween, but I regret my decision. Just two weeks after purchasing it, the animated voice started having defects. While I did quickly scan through the return policy before buying, I feel deceived by Joanns' misleading tactics. They prominently display a sentence stating that returns with a receipt will be refunded in the original method of payment, which led me to believe that regardless of how I paid, I would receive a refund accordingly. However, buried in the fine print, it states that orders placed using PayPal will be refunded with a physical gift card. When I asked for an exception, I was met with a cold and unsympathetic 'no.' It's disappointing to see that Joanns prioritizes questionable marketing techniques over customer satisfaction.

To make matters worse, my refund was over $300, and since I rarely shop at Joanns, I'm uncertain about what to do with nearly $400 worth of store credit. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I strongly advise against supporting this unethical store. They seem to exploit customers who pay through PayPal by giving them store credit instead of refunding their original payment method, all in the name of preserving their profits. I demand proper compensation for the hassle and disappointment caused. I will never return to Joanns, and I cannot recommend this store to anyone.

I ordered 3 halloween candlesticks online. Two of them shipped first, the third one a few days later. The third one arrived first ( through usps) the other 2 arrived later the same day ( through fed ex). The first one that arrived was carefully wrapped and shipped in a plastic shipping bag. It arrived in perfect condition. The other two that arrived later were literally just shipped in the plastic bag, no paper or bubble wrap wrapped around them. These are metal candlesticks. The were both completely scratched and chipped up to the point that they look old and used. Whatever shipping warehouse they use is incredibly careless with your orders. I tried to leave a review on the website, but a moderator sent an email saying it won't be posted. So apparently you also can't trust the reviews on their website, since they cherry pick what reviews they will let you see. I don't have any issue with in store shopping, but I won't ever order from them online again.

MINUS ZERO RATING FOR THIS ONLINE BUSINESS

I ordered some art supplies on Aug 31st, my order was shipped until Sep 5th, today is Sept 11th and the package has been sitting somewhere in Kansas since Sept 6th. There is no estimated delivery date available on the FedEx website.
FIRST AND LAST TIME I BUY FROM THIS STORE.

HORRIBLE ONLINE EXPERIENCE

I placed an order online and each time i tried to Place Order - it kept saying my billing info was incorrect. I tired 5 times using my same bank card. Each time it said it was incorrect - it was actually debiting/crediting the amount from my Bank account.
Finally I used a different bank card and it was successful.
Instinctively, I checked my WF Bank account, and turns out that Joanns charged my WF card 5 times/refunding 3 of these charges, and then they charged my Cap One account. I am furious because this makes it look like my bank account has been compromised, and looks like there was fraud on my Bank Account.
Joanns - I love your products and yarns etc. BUT you have got to implement a better online ordering system for your customers. Otherwise I am going to not shop there in the future.

Don't bother wasting your time ordering from Joann.com. When your order doesn't arrive by the date shown on their email update, they will simply tell you that they have 10 business days to deliver--even if they have sent you notices with a much earlier delivery date. They refuse to cancel the order and insist that you return the items to the store. Since they refuse to be held accountable for their poor customer service and delivery practices, I will NOT be ordering from them again.

I stopped at my local Joann's store to pick up thread and appliqués. I went in the store, found my items and paid more at the checkout than I would have if I'd ordered online. I was informed by the checkout clerk that the cheaper price I found was online only if I placed an order, had an employee find what I wanted and then delivered it to me curbside. Something's wrong with this. I won't be shopping at Joann's in the future.

Clerks extremely unknowlegable, hundreds of excuses, I don't know, wont try, too busy, basuc items and they sell wrong things, are cranky, took 5 hours and, spebt $500 and they dont care. You ask out of area and order online.

Rude workers

I went to the joanna fabric in lenexa and the lady working the fabric cutting stand was very rude. Everytime i asked a question she had an attitude the whole time. It was unbearable. I'm never bringing my kids to this disgusting environment ever again. I do not want them to be around this negativity. This lady had glasses and curly hair and was probably in her mid 50's. I hope this issue is fixed.

I ordered online upholstery fabric & foam to fix my furniture. It came to about $52. The next day, my card was charged $104! I called Joanns & the rep said it was routine to hold the amount & then charge it again when it ships. He said it would be reversed in 3 to 5 business days. It took almost 10 days. My shipment was to arrive in 4 days. It arrived 14 days later. This is the last time I will order anything from Joann!

Rude employees

I moved from Kansas city in April. That store was always organized and everyone was helpful and friendly. I have been to this store 3 times and have seen nothingike that.
Today I asked for help to find something and the employee looked at me and said "I am busy with other customers look it up on your phone"! Seriously? Then I got up to the very young cashier and she rang up my items and gave me a total and I said I have coupons. She let out am exasperated sigh and then scanned one coupon and I told her there was another exasperated sigh a.d she wrang it up!
If this is how this store is run I will not be back! After reading other reviews of this store it looks like I am one of many. From now on I will be going to hobby lobby!

I received notification that my "store pickup" order was ready on 8/21. I notified Joann store in Brandywine, Maryland that I was on my way via the Joann app on my cell phone; gave them the car description and color. I arrived and parked in the designated pickup area by 7:07PM --- and I waited for 10 minutes. Finally, I saw someone else go to the store door and leave. They told me THE STORE WAS CLOSED!

You cannot trust this store to be open when they're supposed to be open. I drove to the store for absolutely nothing, and I still do not have my purchased items.

Missing items in shipment
August 21, 2023

My package was missing 4 large plastic file boxes. Once it arrived and I noticed this, i reached out to ask about it. That was 6 days ago and they kept telling me that their records indicated that they shipped the boxes and they've been doing their investigation for a few days now.

I just don't understand how they can take peoples money and ship half of the items and pretend they shipped the full order.

I will be calling my card company for a reimbursement.

Employment At JOANN

I know a lady that has worked for JOANN for over 8 years. I shop there a lot and have gotten to know her very well. She always waits on me and is very professional. She was upset and crying one day and I asked her what was wrong. She told me that the corporate office had told her that she could take $3200 as severance pay or take a 30% cut in pay. Well she took the cut in pay. I asked the manager of that store why and she said she didn't know why but just to save money. Well my shopping at JOANN has come to an end. If that's the way they treat a very good employee then my money goes some place else. This happened at the Mesquite, Texas store and the employee's name is Karen. I don't know her last name. She also asked me not to say anything but I just can't. Please don't take it out on her. I have been shopping at JOANN for a very long time but that has come to an end!
