IXL

IXL is very much rigged. When you get a question wrong your score goes down more than how much you get when you get it right. IXL doesn't engage you in learning. In fact, IXL makes you not want to learn anymore.

It is a bad experience and they say "fun math and language arts games with prizes and learning games! It is the perfect resource!" but it is boring and uninteresting, and misleading. And it does not help with tests. Our average grade percentage in my class is 80% but on our tests on IXL was about 65%.

It has a a lot of issues like a part that you will get wrong if you do not put a capital letter even though the word that you answer is correct or not and it is really painful to see that $#*! of the smart score go down. A lot of teacher thinks that ixl is perfect but for me is a total bull$#*! and is more a torture than a learning tool

Terrible, I hate this app so much. It helps you with nothing in life AT ALL like don't even try it out. I mean not good who ever decided on making this wasn't thinking right at all like you can tell this is a no brainier. I am a VERY Christian mom and me myself couldn't handle it. One day my 2 beautiful, amazing, majestic, talented, golden children needed help and I had tried to but couldn't. I mean it got to the point I had to go on Facebook and make a post about this nonsense. Unbelievable ban this app ASAP.

First of all, IXL is lying because they say 12 Million people use IXL. THAT IS NOT TRUE. Everyone gives bad reviews. So, why would 12 MILLION PEOPLE USE IT! Second, it makes me MAD! Say your smart score is 99 and then one mistake takes you back to 88. Rarely even 59. If you get a question right, it only gives you 2 or 1 point. Once, It made my Brother cry. It does not encourage kids it makes it their fault. It makes them mad! This app is great to use if you want to make someone cry.

IXL is not only helping kids practice skills like prepositions or decimals, but it gives them encouraging rewards for their efforts. Although many kids complain and dislike IXL greatly, I believe that that is because it DOES have some improvements to be made. While IXL seems really boring, it is helping your mind develop and learn. I can understand people who don't like it, but that is only because I know the reasons and I can relate. Please note that the reason the curriculum might include IXL is because they know how useful it is. Teachers would not make kids work on it if they didn't approve of IXL, which they obviously do. I'm no expert on teaching kids, but I think that teachers would only allow their students to do work on learning platforms that they actually think are good. It's also useful because teachers can assign skills that they know the kids have room for improvement for.

IXL when you get it right in the 80+ "smartscore" you only get 2 points! Per question correct. When you get it wrong it bumps you down 10 points! And has false info. Counts it incorrect even though it is correct

DISCLAIMER-This review of IXL is not meant to hurt or offend anyone's feelings. It's just my honest opinion.

First of all, I like the premise of IXL, but the fact that they only let users that don't pay do 10 questions MAX is just horrible. If they are doing this, they should take down the whole website. Plus, the price you pay for unlimited lessons/questions is a little too steep. Another thing I dislike is the atmosphere of the website. It could be a little easier to navigate and look a little more enticing to kids. IXL just needs to improve some stuff and maybe make some of the problems a little easier as well.
Hope the Devs of IXL see this and take some action upon it. :))

If you saw any other reviews, you should know many reasons. One of my 4 main reasons is that first of all, it's expensive! If you want to learn all 4 main school subjects, you have to pay 19 $ a month! The worst part of that is ixl isn't even good! Now although it has many options for learning stuff, that's also one of its many downfalls. When there are so many options, it feels like you have to do all of them to be up to standard! Also, the diagnostic is pretty bad. I have taken many other standardized tests, and none of my scores match up to my ixl levels! Also, the awards are very bad. All you get for the torturous hours of pain you sometimes have to go through to get one thing done is not worth a dumb stamp or a book cover or an ice cream icon! Overall ixl is a piece of $#*!.

I hate It. It is so so stressful Yuo get only 3 points when you are are correct and lose 10 points when you are wrong, you can have 99 points at one time but get one wrong and back to 70 points, and I think that is not fair

IXL gives kids anxiety and depression. It teaches kids to hate teachers, school, learning, etc. Paul Mishkin made this horrible website, and should face the consequences of his actions. PLEASE BAN IXL!

I would give this a 0 but I can't so I give it a 1. This is my worst nightmare and I want it to be over. I hate this so much. This causes so much stress. I've learned nothing from this. I want it to not exist anymore.

It not helpful teachers thinks it good place to learn. It takes to much points and it give Stress,Anxiety and it gave me hard time and it not good website and it to much and you should be paying for it

This website gives me so many bad memories. I remember that I would literally cry over this. And I lost more points than I gained. Whoever made this website really enjoys making people cry and making them miserable. Honestly, just delete this website. And teachers, school people, school board, etc... if you see this... please for the love of God don't use this application in schools. This is the reason we fall asleep during class. This is the reason we are up late at night. I had to stay up till 3 in the morning one time doing this crap. But would I would majorly change is the point system. Make it to where you don't loose points if you get it wrong!

This website is very educational and rewarding to those who take their time and actually try on each question and after all it is radical dude. Like bruh, who would not use this program. It is the best in the whole wide radicaaal world! I do not know why this is not rated the best website west (and somewhat north) of the Australian current. I can not express in words how radical it is! And one time they asked me how many dinosaurs there were and I answered three and it said it was correct! I could not be more satisfied and amazed with this radical program.

IXL literally made me shed tears. I've been doing this Math work for over 3 hours and I keep getting the last question wrong. These questions are not made for kids. This is the cause of mental health problems. IXL is haunting kid's lives. You even killed student's will to be successful. Like literally 13 million kids are suffering right now. Please I DO NOT RECCOMEND IXL.
