“InventRight Community”

Elliot F.
5/13/23

InventRight is not just a company, it is a community of inventors. Yes, there are employed coaches who provide a service to guide an inventor in search of a licensing agreement. Yes, there are plenty of resources available for students. But, there is also a community of inventors that share the same passion and respect for each another. InventRight will not do the work for you. You are the inventor. It's your licensing agreement. This is your community. It's just that simple.

Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss, the co-founders of InventRight, possess an unparalleled 23-year experience and expertise in Open Innovation licensing. Their 10-Step System enables the development of valuable skills and resources such as prior art, IP management, market research, competitive analysis, prototyping, networking, pitching, negotiating, and more.

Moreover, the supportive community of product developers created by them does not only foster professional growth but also personal, emotional, and mental development. With students from over 65 countries, InventRight has facilitated hundreds of licensing deals and is credited as the catalyst behind them. Their team comprises experts who have genuinely "been there and done that".

For me, InventRight has been a complete "game and life changer," and their YouTube channel is an invaluable resource that anyone aspiring to become an inventor should regularly refer to for valuable tips and advice.

Inventright has been instrumental in moving me toward a world that I didn't even know was an option! Their 1-on-1 coaching and supportive team kept me on track, while going through the steps to help me develop and evolve my ideas from IP research and creation to marketing materials and beyond. The knowledge I have gained has given me confidence and equipped me with the tools to overcome roadblocks and be 'pitch ready'!
It isn't always easy but if you do the work, you will be rewarded.
Both Andrew and Stephen (the founders) and their team are truly invested in our success and as a bonus, the community they've created has provided me with some really great, like-minded friends!
This alumni member thanks you for always inspiring me, responding to my questions and being generous with your time! (I won't even get into all the free resources!).
If you are considering licensing your ideas, this is the place to be!...or you could just let your ideas sit there idle forever and never know what might have been!
"Keep on inventing!"...a famous quote;)
Michele

Before joining, I first watched most of their videos on YouTube.

I checked for consistency and paid attention to interviews with successful graduates.

I checked for lawsuits and and negative press.

They were consistent, their interviews were clearly natural (not staged or improvised) and there was no negative press or lawsuits.

So I decided to join.

First thing they clarified was that I was the one doing all the steps, they are not licensing my idea.

How can you learn to fish if someone just gives you a fish?

Every person I interacted with from InventRight was open, supportive and answered all my complicated questions.

They guided me every step of the way, as long as I was the one doing the steps.

Their members site is filled with past videos filled with valuable insights, where I spent tens of hours going through them all.

Being among inventors who are actively licensing products made me realize this is what I want to do with my life.

InventRight helped me think about products from different perspectives, so I can account for factors from a company's perspective.

The second most important part is being taught how to interact with companies.

The most important part:

Having a coach to keep you accountable and encourage you to move forward.

When you're by yourself, it's easy to give up at the first hurdle.

I hope this review helped you.

I wish you the best in your licensing journey.

Tip for consumers:
InventRight teachers you all the skills needed to be a professional independent inventor for the rest of your life.

What do you want to do for the rest of your life?

I haven't paid Inventright a single penny.
Yet I have watched literally HUNDREDS of hours of free videos from them on YouTube. The videos they provide there are absolutely beyond value to me. I can't imagine anyone who could legitimately watch even a few of their videos on.YouTube and not understand a LOT of what inventing and licensing products is about.
Personally, I have patents, patents pending, and products I make and sell.
Am I wealthy because of them? Nope…
But some are commercially successful to some level.
I do make a few bucks from my inventions and that FEELS pretty good man.
I hope to license some of my inventions at some point because I want my babies (inventions and ideas) to be popular and enjoyed by the world… and I would like to benefit financially as well of course.
Inventright isn't a golden ticket. No company like this is.
Inventright is a source of education.
Complaining about them is like going to college to become a doctor and then not applying for a job at the end and blaming the school system. Watch their material and as much other stuff as you can find from as many sources as possible and fill your head with knowledge before you decide your dream of being an inventor is sensible for you.
If you fail to educate yourself to a reasonable "jump off point" for FREE on YouTube first, BEFORE paying Inventright for coaching and additional guidance… there is indeed a problem… and the problem can be found in your mirror.
Just my two cents.
-shanek

Tip for consumers:
They give more free than they ever could ask for payment for. I like their services.

At the time of this review, there are 5 negative reviews, 2 of which at least tried in some fashion inventright.com which feels like justified opinions resulting from crappy choices. 3 had zero experience with the site; 2 were hearsay and 1 was some misguided generic warning. What I do know is that the positive comments are right. It's up to you. You are buying into a resource and communities. You blow $300 for an hour of guidance... That's also on you (, you idiot). Just like the negative reviews I haven't tried it but soo close to doing so. Really looking for the community and guidance and I hope it doesn't get killed off.

So if vacuum filled reviews have weight on this site review site... Then why can't mine too?

I have watched many videos on Youtube produced by InventRight. I didn't trust them at first because a company called inventHELP that ripped me off. InventHELP convinced me to spend $18k with the purchase of a Utility Patient that I did not yet need. Companies that want to contract with you for your Idea will advance you the money "IF" they even require a Utility Patient at all. Most products are protected by the "First To Market" principle...all this can be learned on InventRight/YouTube for free! InventRight offered so much insightful information free on YouTube, that I am hitting the ground "Running" now that I have a coach. My coach also has great success with InventRight.

I see the sad comments by the other two people here. I would only say that if you are squinting at spending only $300 for only ONE HOUR of advise, then you should have at least watched enough videos to get a head start. Everyone knows that no one gets (potentially) millions of dollars worth of information for $300 in only one hour. Do you really believe that? Yet you could have received hundreds of hours of the SAME counsel for FREE on YouTube! I just paid nearly $4k for 6 months of coaching that will make me "UNEMPLOYABLE" to any company within 2 years! Gee, let me get bent out of shape over $300 when one hour of advise is just dabbling in a market that may full well make me millions?
Business is not charity! It will always be business FIRST! Treat is as a business, and you will find success... if you are creative and persistent!

Best wishes to all and perhaps we'll see you in the winner's circle!

Sincerely, Keith

Tip for consumers:
Always research before you spend money. I have found that the Inventor's community is amazing, especially the InventRight community. There are many wonderful resources. I recommend you start with a book by Stephen Key titled "One Simple Idea". You can also see the free videos by the co-founders Stephen Key & Andrew Krauss. These videos will put you WAY ahead of most people entering this field of work!

So I have a concept that I need to get off the ground and wanted some expert advice. I've been reading up and watching alot of videos from Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss of Inventright. Wow! They have the best people ever. I was able to touch base with Terry O'Mara for an hour and he gave me such great advice. He knows so much about the business and was respectful at all times. Didn't make me feel inadequate. He went above and beyond, in my opinion. I got so much out of that 1 hour that I'm still trying to process it all. I took about 4 pages of notes and for every concern I had, Terry was able to give me reassurance and at least 2 different sources or ideas to follow up on. If you're also like me, and kind of stuck on where to go next, and how to manage your project, Terry at Inventright is absolutely the best call and investment you'll ever make. I highly recommend Inventright. Inventright has other services available, and when I get to that point in my project, I will defintely go back to them and see what other golden nuggets of information/advice I can get.

I've been learning with inventRight for over eight months now. I found the company in March 2022 after reading Stephen Key's book, "Become a Professional Inventor," and watching many of inventRight's helpful YouTube videos. I recommend starting here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-2L31LrT3T-OBNLuP_AnHw

InventRight is a company that's been helping inventors for over 20 years, that's a long time. They offer lots of resources to help inventors bring their ideas to market. This includes online classes, one-on-one coaching programs, 3D prototypes & sell sheets, invention consultations, and help with applying for provisional patents and reaching out to potential licensees.

InventRight is NOT an invention submission company and will not do the work for you. Instead, they help you develop the skills and knowledge to become a professional inventor and get your first product to market.

Starting out in this field can be scary AF, and it's easy to make some really expensive mistakes. But inventRight has a proven system that gives you your best chance for success.

I have a great coach and meet with him weekly– he uses the same 10-step system to license his own products and he has been down this same road many times before. It's good to have someone who knows where you are and what you're experiencing.

InventRight also offers tons of online resources for inventors, videos, templates, sell sheets, training sessions, PPAs and more. There is so much valuable information but honestly, the most important or best part for me is the weekly coaching call where my coach and I review my progress, answer my questions or concerns, and plan my next steps. This alone is worth the price of admission.

I've seen a few negative reviews recently from people who seem to have never even tried the inventRight program. Really? It's disappointing because these reviews seem more like personal attacks on the founders rather than real feedback about the company. Don't let these kinds of reviews stop you from trying out a system that could help you reach your goals and realize your dream of seeing your ideas turned into reality and your product on store shelves.

If you're thinking about inventRight, I suggest doing some research. Don't base your decision on any review, including this one.

Watch their videos, read one of Stephen Key's books, and maybe even schedule a call with Stephen or Andrew.

LinkedIn is also a good place to connect with other inventRight students and hear about their experiences. Just log in and search 'inventRight".

I can say for myself that inventRight has been a huge help. I now have two products with pending patents and I'm negotiating my first licensing deal. If you're like me and do better with some guidance, inventRight might be just what you need.

If you're stuck with your invention or don't know where to start, take a look at inventRight. They've been a huge help to me, making the invention process less scary, quicker and easier. I've had a really good experience with inventRight, and they could be what you need to bring your ideas to life.

I contacted inventright and paid 300 for a 1 hour phone call and It didn't help me get any closer to my idea then I was at that point at all. Reached out to then for help with licensing an idea and they said if I bought more books or paid more money then they would help me. Complete waste of money that as a single mom, I didn't have to waste. That's why I was reaching out for help, because I wanted to make money by being able to license an idea. Disappointed with inventright as they claim to want to help inventors but they really just want to take your money like every other invention company

Andrew K. – InventRight Rep

Hi Mindy,
We are sorry you didn’t feel like your one-hour Kickstart call with our inventRight coach Terry O'Mara was helpful. I talked to Terry about your call with him. Terry explained that he advised you to do more research on the product itself and the market for the product so you could put your best foot forward.

We frequently hear how much people appreciate these one-time one-hour calls. However, this does not seem to be the case for you, and that's totally ok. We will be reaching out to you to provide a refund as we were not aware that you were dissatisfied in any way because you never let us know. We know now, so we will be providing you with a full refund.

Of course we can’t fully guide someone through the entire licensing process in an individual one hour call. That’s why we guide most of our students weekly and hold their hand through the ups and downs of licensing and selling an invention. It sounds like maybe you thought you could learn everything you needed to know in a one hour call or you simply didn’t see the value in the advice Terry provided. Either way, we will refund the money you paid. We really care about our members. I know not all companies care, but we aren’t one of those companies. We guide and mentor inventors and we really care about our members.

You mentioned that you are a mom. Jennifer is also a mom and a student of ours. She licensed three products in six months while she was with us. Check out her interview here. https://youtu.be/eZFHnCACQf4.Then there is Ingrid, a grandma who invented a product to help parents and babies currently on the market. Here’s the link for that video. https://youtu.be/rkl-2sgf0ZM. As well as Lauren who brought her baby massager to market https://youtu.be/r3oUFNExWkA

You can totally do this! We encourage you to keep going. You will need to learn the process and do the work like these other women of course, but if you are willing to do the work, we’ll be here for you. I hope you find inspiration from these videos.

Another place you might find inspiration, is our “Inventions For Sale” page. On this page, you will find some of our students products they’ve licensed. All these products are currently on the market and you can click on links to buy their products. How cool is that? https://inventright.com/buyers-guide/

We educate, guide, and mentor inventors so they have the highest possible chance of success. We don't do all the research for you but guide you so you can be a pro. We create virtual prototypes for marketing purposes, but we don't engineer and develop your product. We also don't patent your product, but we do give you software to very affordably write a Provisional Patent, and pay then you pay the small patent office fee of $60 so you can protect your invention.

We write for Forbes, Inc, and Entrepreneur.com, providing education to people with ideas. We have also written five books to help people with ideas. Our most popular book "One Simple Idea" published by McGraw-Hill has been translated into five languages.

We understand your frustration and possibly overwhelm with the process. If you want our help, we will be here to help you, however since you are not satisfied with your kickstart call, we’ll be providing you a full refund.

Companies like this have been around since the 1980s. They make money by charging you fees to "research" and "develop your product". I have never found a single good review of this company online from inventors. There is no such thing as a legitimate company that will take your idea, patent it for you, improve it and then sell it for you. You have to develop your Own prototype, get a utility patent on it, which can take three years, and even then, your patent will not guarantee you an income. A patent only gives you the right to sue other companies who infringe on your idea. That's all. China does not recognize US patents, and routinely reverse engineer products and then flood US markets with them. Politicians know about this but refuse to protect inventors. To make it worse, in recent years American companies have developed a strictly "in-house" development process, where they rely on their own engineers to develop products for them, in order to avoid any liability issues with outside inventors. They now have disclaimers on their sites warning inventors not to submit ideas to them or to attempt to present new products to them; they state such inquiries will be rejected. That leaves new inventors in this country with no options, and nowhere to go. I myself have been struggling with this fact for years, and have found no useful answers to this dilemma. However, these "idea development" companies are only ripoffs, and should be avoided at all costs.

Hi Jon,
We fully agree with you, Jon. However, you have us mixed up with other companies and seem to be speaking generally about other companies and not us. There are companies that take advantage of inventors. We are different though. We don’t claim to do the work for you, instead we guide and mentor our members though the real process of licensing their products. It doesn’t sound like you even know us, so please don’t lump us in with the bad guys. We are an exception but a good company that cares and helps and mentors inventors.

IGA (Inventors Groups of America) is our sister company where we do free education for inventors. We did a webinar with the director of the patent office very recently. You can see it here. https://inventleader.org/uspto-director-kathi-vidal-webinar/. The patent office came onto our webinar because they know we are “the good guys” as we’ve been helping inventors in an ethical way for 23 years.

You are right that there are a lot of questionable companies out there offering services to inventors. The patent office and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) warns against them. We just aren’t one of those companies. You can find endless people we’ve helped here on this page on our site talking about their experience with us. https://inventright.com/testimonials/ And if you follow this link, you can view our “Inventions For Sale” page here on our website. https://inventright.com/buyers-guide/ These are just some of the products our students have licensed. All these products are currently on the market, and you can click on links to buy their products. How cool is that? We wish you much success with all your invention-related endeavors.
