Institute For Writers

The ICL has been very patient with me. I have a wonderful instructor who, while being very supportive, gives excellent critique of my work. If you don't have the discipline to study at home (like I don't) this can be difficult. Plan on spending 20 or more hours a week studying and taking advantage of all the information provided by ICL. IF the resources are used and discipline applied this can be very rewarding and a good step in becoming a published writer

I took the course Writing for Children and Teens a couple of years ago. Before even completing the course, I sold two magazine articles that I had worked on with my instructor! I am currently working through their advanced Writing and Selling Children's Books course. My instructor for both courses has been Victoria Sherrow. I cannot say enough good things about her insights. Her comments always ring true and have honed my writing skills.

You can work at your own pace, with a great instructor and well-thought-out materials. If you really want to be a writer, do this for yourself!

Their website may look cheesy, but their services are real. They offer one on one, personal instruction. Their website and books offer a lot of resources to help you on your writing journey. I am so glad I found the childrens institute and took their course. I feel that my writing has improved greatly and I am very appreciative for my teacher, who took the time to edit all of my projects and gave me helpful advice on how to improve.
