If you are looking for education provided by anyone who claims to be a healthcare provider, you can verify credentials online through the various licensing boards. For instance, licensed nurse practitioners are required to also have an active RN license. Although there is no national database to check for nurse practitioner licenses, you CAN check the national NURSYS system/website to see all of the places a person has ever held an RN license. Once you have this information, you can then go to each state nursing board website to see if they have ever held a nurse practitioner license as well as details on any other nursing licenses they may have held - even if inactive status.
Interview the person providing the education about what EXACTLY will be taught to make sure this lines up with what you are looking to learn and ask very specific questions. I recommend recording the conversation should you need it later - depending on where you live you made need the other party's consent to record, if you do then email communication might be your better option. Inquire about the class format such as how much time is spent with the educator providing information vs. group personal communication. Ask if the program is performed in a professional manner such as starting and ending on time, do all employees provide a consistent experience or is there a lack of policies/procedures to ensure they are all on the same page.
