HGTV IS WONDERFUL. I HAVE BEEN WATCHING IT FOR YEARS. DAVE AND JENNY MARRS DO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL REMODELS AND I LOVE DAVID BROMSTEAD'S "MY LOTTERY DREAM HOME". KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! YOU ARE GREAT!
ENOUGH with the COMMERCIALS RERUN! Who do you pay to run your commercials? Current one is Unsellable Houses and SOO TIRED OF IT! You run it about 10 times an hour or more. It's not going to make me want to see whatever you think you're promoting. Get creative! With that rant over- I might renew my subscription. We like the Chip & Joan/Property Brothers/Beach homes/Love it or List it is entertaining to see the hosts banter more than anything else. Definitely do not care for HGTV so called "Star" competitions. But really, get rid of those marathon commercials!
As Christian I find too many of your shows use BAD language. Intelligent people do not need to use bad words to express themselves. It is insulting and painful.
Love Bargain Block, Farmhouse Fixer, House Hunters, Fixer to Fabulous, and Love it List it...Please don't do (lottery Dream home) or (Home Town)...and (Tareks new show) is funny...His wife doesn't know alot of design. We want the good shows back. I give a Five STAR if those shows aren't on HGTV.
HGTV producers need to listen critically to the dialog of theirs and other home improvement shows and note how repetitive certain phrase are during these shows. Comments like: I love it! Wow! Open concept. Oh my God (gosh, goodness, word), it's coming together, etc. Expressed multiple times in every show, over and over again makes it hard to watch these shows. One has to assume the writers on these shows are basically illiterate or they pay no attention to how often these boring cliches are repeated.

I wish you all would quit cramming hometown down our throats. I've never cared for the show / its way too "grandmas frumpy design" and way too hokey. There's so many other shows that have endured the test of time because people love them House hunters, House hunters international, House hunters renovation-all the renovation shows are so much more fun to watch except hometown and also fixer-upper which is also been crammed down our throat's way too much. Thank you.
Seriously? This show is telling someone not to remove a wall because of sheathing? It's the framing/studs holding the structure not sheathing. Everyone knows that plywood separates the walls/insulation/trusses/lathe etc. Sheathing has nothing to do with load bearing walls etc. Also why are wood burning fireplaces being shown with no doors, mesh curtains or screens. This is a huge fire hazard especially with wood floors. Hearths don't look like the are up to code. There are strict rules for combustible materials and clearances for wood burning fireplaces. If they aren't working fireplaces or have been converted to electric then the shows need to specify this.
I find it very deceitful that they list a program as new but it's just last year's repeat. They don't think that the viewer realizes this.
I was TOTALLY devastated seeing the waste and destruction of the vintage items on Flip or Flop. One word... RECYCLE!
HGTV if you don't stop constantly running his ads I'm over watching your content. I watch all of your shows haven't heard you come out with anything supporting BLM. Some of your content has done this but not the station. Plans to do so? If so when? Giving you 3 stars will change depending on the answer. Would have been 5 stars a few months ago. Also going to ask on social media if you've posted anything regarding BLM.
Was watching Bargain Mansions. The "designer" destroys some of the most beautiful details of an older home to make it a "modern" style. Instead of taking the sledge hammer to some woodwork that she doesn't like for her modern appearance, why not take a few minutes extra to reserve those pieces to donate/resell? I've only watched this show three times, but each time I turn it off after 10 minutes because she is ridiculous.
You need to cancel Home Town - they are Fixer Upper wannabes and are doing a very poor job of it. Erins latest spot... Just do it... said in a smartass voice is an insult to your viewers. And if our family has to hear the background song Today is a winding road one more time, we will stop watching HGTV completely. Even our 6 year old is sick of it! And get rid of Flip or Flop!
My wife and I have watched for years and enjoyed, things are changing though. The decision to promote a cheating home wrecker with very limited talent and virtually no skills does not make sense and is almost insulting to people that prefer ethical programming. I am thankful that Chip and Joanna are about to launch the new DIY network as I will be using that as a replacement for HGTV going forward.
I'm an avid watcher of your network, but this show's host is so phoney baloney that practically nothing he utters sounds authentic. And his new promo campaign is so over the top I switch the channel as soon as I see one of these stupid commercials. Doesn't anyone there edit or direct him? Or does he have such an avid following that he continues to get away with this? I finally had to write this review because I just couldn't stand watching him anymore. Someone needs to tell him not to be so arrogant...
HGTV, CAN YOU PLEASE STOP WITH THE HOME TOWN CAMPAIGN? This show is not everyone's cup of tea as other viewers have indicated. You have campaigned this show almost EVERY weekend for weeks :(.
As for Christina on the Coast, it's a flop, accept it and CANCEL!
Please provide more of a variety; such as, Love It or List It, House Hunters, Flipping 101, etc. These are great shows and we want more of them in the schedule, PLEASE!
Give your viewers a break and reduce the recurring campaigns of the same shows (Home Town, Fixer Upper, Windy City Rehab, Good Bones, and Property Brothers (rip offs). It has gotten very old.
I was watching the HGTV home renovation show "Fixer to Fabulous" and paused it after missing about half of it. When I pressed play, it went to a 3 minute commercial break. Even though I sat through every commercial until this point, I can somewhat understand after a long pause. After watching 3 mins of ads, I rewound to about the middle of the episode and another 3 min ad(s)! Worse part, it took me back to the end. I repeated this once more to realize I was stuck on watching the ads to complete the last 5 mins of the big renovation reveal just to restart the show and go through 15 more mins of ads to get back to the last watched point. No way. I'm very disappointed. I liked the show but it's definitely not worth the long commercial breaks. Do better HGTV!
I enjoy this show, the relationship between mom and daughter is nice-respectful. Designs ideas and decor are also good. What I HATE is the music especially the singing it just doesn't fit with the concept. The song choices are terrible and distracting I actually turn the channel when the music is playing!
Can I just enjoy the great shows without the constant reminder that we are in a pandemic? I am so tired of the depressing commercials. If I want depression then I will just skip my favorite shows and watch CNN. Please stop!
Home Town is being shown too much - time to end it. At least move it to daytime to give night time viewers a break.
HGTV promotes how the shows are about family and good feels, while promoting the divorce drama on Flip or Flop and encouraging them to be snarky toward each other. And shame on Tarek and Christina for going along with it. Just tacky.
I do not appreciate the in episode ads. I do not see it as a good trend for TV viewing. If it continues and spreads across multiple channels I will cancel my cable.
So sorry to see that Hometown has caved in to a guy couple - will probably not watch again - taking a stand for family morality goes a long way - I never seen it on fixer upper - they stayed strong to their faith!
Why oh why, do hgtv insist on having women on the Flip or Flop episodes (the Christina woman & now the strange vegas women) who look straight up at best a Barbie doll character & at worst a stripper? Why, it's completely unbelievable that these women are in there getting their hands dirty& delving into the whole fix it up concept! COME ON! No one dresses & comes to this kind of work looking like this nonsense ie., high heels, tight skinny jeans, massively made up w/hair & makeup, fake blonde hair, it's just over the top not believable & quite frankly nauseating! Do your program/show designers just really think sex sales or what? Most nauseating shows you produce-- we just turn it the minute they come on. Stick to fixer upper (at least JoAnna Gaines really does what she does), Nicole from rehab addict is cute but she too really does what she does & so does mother daughter fixer upper. Stick to real a believable! Not sure w/ these fake Barbie ding dongs who you're trying to target audience wise?
Wife and I love HGTV, but we don't enjoy the constant bickering between host's or couples
Do not enjoy...
Seems the people on beach hunters and house hunters are either dumb as hell or such $#*!s I don't even want to watch anymore "oh my God there's a window" lol. About the only show I love anymore is Lottery dream house they are rich and still nicer than all the others
Good Bones designs are nice but not high end. That's ok however their renovation budgets are big and they don't nearly deliver the results other HGTV designers deliver with smaller, or comparable, budgets. Who are they paying? Also, they are good renovators/builders but they produce mediocre designs. Items never match… often hodgepodge. Many things seem to just be thrown in for the show. They should deliver a different result if they have such high budgets. Other show designers do. They should also consider just renovating properties and let the pros create the final designs.
For God Sakes Please Cancel HomeTown already! It's so boring and you guys are burning it out! Pleaseeeeeee! Love it or list it me PLEASE!
