This trader is running full page advertisements in the Southend and Basildon Standard newspapers. In these adverts he is using the HIP logo, the company that provides insurance backed guarantees for consumers BUT only if the trader is registered as a member. This trader is NOT a member, and using this logo is in breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. He uses the logo to deceive consumers into believing they are protected by the Home Improvement Protection (HIP) scheme. HIP provide a deposit protection and insurance backed guarantee scheme that would protect consumers in the event a company stopped trading. Very relevant because this trader's previous company is being dissolved leaving unpaid creditors behind. SEE COMPANIES HOUSE FOR PROOF.
Consumers need to be made aware that they have no protection from the HIP insurance if they use Hanson Roofing and Building Ltd because the logo is being used illegally and used only to deceive.
