I purchased a set of TaylorMade golf clubs for around £60, with a huge discount that they offered as an "inventory clearance sale". They sent me two glow in the dark golf balls (unbranded, no value, not even fit for use). They have refused to let me send the package back, as it would cost them money to do so. They have also refused to give me their address and refused to give me a refund.
They told me that the golf balls had a higher value of the full set of clubs that I ordered. After months, they offered me a 10% refund, which after further months, I got up to 50% as a take it or leave it offer. If I refuse the offer, they'll give me nothing back. They have even advised that I sell the package to recoup the money. (you can buy a pack of 100 of these balls for about £5 - I've checked.
Although they're responsive, they are clearly running a scam. I have no doubt that this company did not have this stock and sent the golf balls intentionally knowing that there's nothing that I can do.
They've stolen my money and I hope that no one else falls for their scams.
Here's an example of their emails:
Dear customer,
We can't give you a return label because customs will charge us import duty and if we don't pay, we won't get the package and we'll lose more money. And the package may not be delivered to us accurately.
If you really don't want the package, you can sell the package and you'll get more money.
And we can give you a 20% refund to express our apology, although we sent a higher value item, but after all, we made a mistake in the order, we understand you.
Do you accept a 20% refund and keep the item? This is the best solution we can come up with.
Best regards,
