Flight change by Airline... September 20,2023

I've used Flighthub for a few years now. I've had some great deals using their service. A few weeks ago I booked a flight from Toronto to Chiang Mai, Thailand. All went well with the booked and I received my confirmation. A few weeks later I received an email from them stating, 'there has been a change to your flight' and to contact them. I was unable to get anyone on the phone, September 20,2023. The call kept dropping after stating to go online to connect with their automated assistant. So I did. The automated service could not help me and wrote, 'an agent will call in you 10 minutes'. No call. I went back on the automated service, again, 'an agent will call you in 20 minutes'. This happened 3-4 times. I gave up and called Korean Air. They advised me of the change and what I needed to do to make the adjustment and that I have to call my agent as flight was booked with them, and that there is no charge for this change. Also, that I can get a full refund, if the options do not work for me. I called Flighthub again and got a hold of someone. We went through some scenarios of different flights and decided on one of them. They told me I have to pay a change fee of $75. I asked why, as this change was not my choice...? It was the Korean Airlines who changed the flight. We were on the phone for a long time arguing back and forth. I then called Korean Air again. They advised, no you do not have to pay anything. So, I call Flighthub again and they insisted that I have to pay $75 for the change. I refused to pay even a $1. As this is an airline change, not my change. I told them, I can even cancel the entire flight for a full refund according to Korean Air. They said if I cancel the flight I would have to pay a cancellation fee of $235. They kept insisting and arguing with me that I have to pay a fee...! I was furious and got quite angry with them and hung up. I then called Korean Airlines again. What a pleasure talking with the Korean Airline representative. She listened to my concern and how Flighthub is treating me. She put me on hold for a while and then returned. She said, "we are taking over your flight from your agent and you will deal with us on the change to your flight". Just like that! What a bunch of nonsense with Flighthub! Korean Air rep. Made the change and gave me an even better flight, direct from Toronto to Seoul, Korea and then to Chiang Mai. It was infuriating how Flighthub kept arguing with me about a fee that was not my doing! How ridiculous is this, that a big company like Flighthub doesn't have previsions to waive a fee when an airline is making the change to the passengers flight. I will, at all costs, refrain from using Flighthub again, if I can help it. I will go on other sites such as, "CheapoAir", "Kayak", "Cheapflightsfares" and anyone else I can find! NO MORE FLIGHTHUB FOR ME!

Tip for consumers:

I want to add that Korean Airlines were a delight to deal with on the change to my flight. Korean Airlines' representative was friendly, understanding, professional and efficient with making the change to my flight due to a modification they had made to my original flight.

I am very pleased with Korean Airlines customer service that was the opposite of what I experienced from Flghthub!!!

Be wary of booking round trip international flights OR ANY FLIGHTS with these guys.

Booked roundtrip from Vancouver to Berlin and back through Flight Hub, with West Jet Airlines. The airline cancelled the outbound due to winter storms last Dec. 21,2022. The airline offered options for re-accommodation or cancellation of the "entire" trip (outbound - return). We opted for the latter and the airline was able to do this for us. As the tickets were issued through FlightHub, they are the only ones who can process the refunds. So when we asked them for the refund, as a result of cancellation by the airline, they managed to process the outbound. When followed up for the refund of the return flight, we soon discovered that Flight Hub issued a different Airline reservation code from that of the outbound. We learned this when we inquired with West Jet our flight details. Had it not for West Jest asking for the "RESERVATION CODE" for the return, we would not have known it.

What this means is that when West Jet cancelled the outbound flight and thus triggering a process of refund, West Jet was not able to find the return flight because of a different reservation code, which incidentally was only given to us by Flight Hub the moment we inquired with the West Jet. As soon as we explained to West Jet our cause of action, they acted accordingly and thus cancelled the return flight, agreeing that it would be logical to cancel the return because the outbound never happened. But Flight Hub insists on not refunding the return flight. Rather they insist on rebooking. Please take note here; they can again milk you for rebooking and charge for the price difference! "F###!

Here is the catch; When you book directly through the airline and incidence like mine happened, they can give you options, which include a full refund. In FLIGHT HUB'S case, THEY INTENTIONALLY SEPARATE OUBOUND AND INBOUND FLIGHTS, such that when cancellations happen for the outbound, you are still locked in to their so called "policy" or what i call sinister trap. While airlines refund you for cancellations due to causes beyond the airlines control, FLIGHT HUB ridiculously WILL NOT, even if the airline has cancelled due to weather reasons. IS THIS NOT PHONY?

At all cost, NEVER BOOK THROUGH FLIGHT HUB. It will cost you more instead. NO BENEFIT BOOKING WITH THEM. BE VERY CAREFUL.

When you also call customer service, you practically get no help. Its equivalent to speaking with robots!

You can have a better flight experience directly with an airline. It will be a flight nightmare if you deal with this FLIGHT HUB.!

Nightmare dealing with Flighthub

I purchased a round trip ticket on October 11,2022 for Toronto - DFW - Toronto with a departure on November 6,2022 and return on November 9,2022. This reservation was done to attend scheduled important business meetings.

I received an email from Air Canada and Flighthub that I have been rebooked on November 8,2022 with a return flight on November 9,2022.
Upon calling flighthub I was informed that the airline had done this cancellation and there is nothing flighthub can do about this change owing to the airline policy and the only option is to accept it or lose money. The CSR agent at flighthub asked me to call Air Canada to see if they can do something to help with changing the ticket. Upon debating with them by explaining that I have not requested to change the flight so they should work with the airline to do the needful and make alternate flight arrangement on November 6,2022 so I can reach for my meetings as scheduled and the CSR literally hung up the phone.

With no other option left, I called Air Canada and they said that since I have booked with third party travel agency they do not have access to the file and are unable to make the changes and I have to contact flighthub.com for any changes to the reservation and the Air Canada agent said she is going to make some notes on my file which will be visible to flighthub employees and send a copy to me. The note says as follows:

"When A Schedule Change Is Occured Such As A Flight Cancellation, Time Change, Cabin Change, Routing/Airport Change Or Operating Carrier Change, Which Occurs More Than 48 Hours Prior To
The Original Scheduled Departure Time, The Customer Is Entitled To Change His Flight +/- 3 Days Before/After Original Travel Dates, Free Or Charge. If He Or She Is Not Able To Find A Suitable
Alternative, He Or She Has To Go Back To The Original Booking Source And They Should Process A Full Refund For Customers."

Upon reading the above mentioned note and with the hope they would accept airline note I again called flighthub and asked them if they are able to see the note that Air Canada has made on file, they out right lied and said they cannot see anything. I even offered that I can send them the note via email and the agent said they will not accept any thing via email.

So I requested if I could talk to a manager and I was told that as per company policy managers will not come on the phone but they can put in a request and someone will call in 24 to 72 hours. While reasoning with them to see if they can help in any way and they kept denying and once they put me on hold with the intention to see if there is any other option and came back and said there is nothing they can do to help. When I tried to reason more with the agent he once again put me on hold and finally never came back and just hung up on me.

This raises so many questions and concerns and the primary question is that when anyone books a ticket using any third party agency like flighthub and if you have any questions and if you call the airline, the airline immediately says that they do not have access to the file and fare structure since we have used a third party to make reservations but if the airline wants to cancel the flight for some reason then they have complete access to the file and they even are able to send email notifying the customer of the change. So why this contradiction on part of the airline and third party agencies where they just pass the buck to get people off their back.

With the given situation, I so much wish if there is some regulation in place to penalize such white collar criminals who very conveniently loot people of their hard earned money. I earnestly request all those who have suffered, let us all come together and legally go after such criminals to teach them a lesson and put them out of business. We don't need such criminals.

My experience with Flighthub began when I booked a flight for my stepdaughter and her partner to fly from Calgary, AB. Canada to Melbourne Australia, it was last year and still at the end of the covid pandemic. We had to cancel the trip and request a credit as we were not eligible for a refund. We were required
To pay $75 per passenger to enable this credit to be lodged. This was earlier this year - 2022.
We were in constant contact with Flighthub via email and always went through to an offshore call centre.
THIS ANNOYED ME SO MUCH, THAT I COULD NOT CALL THEM IN CANADA AND DISCUSS THE MATTER.
We needed to book the flight for November this year and found out that the email inbox is no longer monitored so had to call them on the phone - EACH TIME WE CALLED THEM WE GOT THROUGH TO CAIRO, EGYPT. We called them about 6 times over the weekend and used 60% of our 750 minutes international allowance. THEY TOLD US THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $515 PER PASSENGER EXTRA TO BOOK OUR FLIGHTS. We had a $1557 credit per passenger and were wanting to change it to 'one way'. I rang the airline and they told us that we did not have to pay any extra, due to their 'peace of mind' policy. We rang Flighthub (Egypt again) and they had continually told us that it was because of "change of class of service" within the economy cabin. We contacted the airline again and they believe that it was a commission they were charging.
FLIGHTHUB WANTED US TO PAY $2072cad PER PASSENGER FOR A ONE WAY FLIGHT FROM CALGARY TO MELBOURNE.
We contacted the airline again and we were able to book and use our credit with them directly.
I WILL NEVER USE FLIGHTHUB AGAIN.

My name is Khadija Morody. I booked a flight for three refugees from Dubai to Havana (with a transfer in Madrid). It was a little after 24 hours when I received the news that my refugees could not travel in Madrid due to some law. I called Flighthub to change the flight and go another way. They charged me $200 per person for making changes. I had purchased three tickets, so I was fined $600, and paid an extra $4000 (including tax) for the difference. In total that was now over $9600 I had paid. I found tickets that were much cheaper, and with the SAME airline as my original bookings. Apparently, I could not change the tickets!
My departing city had to be the exact same as the original bookings. I explained that my refugees were not going to be there, but they would not listen--they didn't care. I had to depart from Dubai. I asked if we could have a travel voucher and use it ourselves--booking from the Turkish Airlines themselves. Nope. Not allowed to do that too. I asked if I could cancel, since it was within 24 hours. They said I would only get a refund of $3500, which was the changes I had made that day, but that my $5000 would not be refunded. I saw no other choice, but to agree to get the $3500--I wanted some money back! So, I asked it I could just use my original ticket--but guess what? I couldn't! They had cancelled the flights on my ticket. So I paid $5000 for three tickets with no flights on it (they didn't tell me they would do this!) AND on top of it all, I was going to be charged $600 for a NO SHOW. I asked how they could charge me for a no show, if there was no flights on my ticket! They had no answer for that.
I asked to speak with a manager--and was told they would contact me within 24-48 hours. I NEVER received a call from them! I asked if they could speak with Turkish Airlines themselves--nope. That was my responsibility, I had to call them. I asked if we could simply book a one way. Nope. The original ticket was a round trip, so I had to book a round trip.
So, basically, I was forced to book another flight for three tickets, on a city my refugees were not going to be in, if I wanted to get my money's worth. And I was going to be charged $600 for a no show!
CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST HERE! NEVER BOOK WITH THIS AIRLINE! They just want to charge you for every single little thing, and they will not EVER issue refunds!

NEVER BOOK WITH A 3RD PARTY WEBSITE! Always go directly to the airline website and book with them!

In 2020 i booked a flight from YEG Colorado for a concert. It got cancelled by Westjet because of COVID, so I was given a 1 year travel credit. I was still unable to use it within the year, so it was extended for another year. Since Westjet then announced they were giving refunds for all flights cancelled due to COVID, I was expecting a full refund from Flighthub. HOWEVER, that was not the case. I have been contacting Flighthub to get a refund since 2021, as I was fine with the extended travel credit for the first year. This year in February of 2022, I once again requested a refund since Westjet was allowing refunds for COVID related cancellations. They told me it was not eligible and I have to rebook using my travel credit. WHATEVER. I did it to get it over and done with. Rebooked a flight to Colorado for this August back in February so my credit wouldn't expire. Then, they call me a week later saying the flight I booked, and practically all other flights to and from Colorado were non-existent. The dates I requested, as well as a week before and after, also had no flights. Are you kidding me? So, I called ONCE AGAIN asking for a full refund because frankly, this is absolute BS. They said it was now processing with WestJet, and the agent gave me a service request number to call Flighthub back if I have not received any update. Well, It's now the middle of August with no info from Flighthub. I called them asking about my service request and the agent tells me there is no service request under the number and my file. What the F***! So it's been over 2 years, I don't even have a flight booked, and I'm probably never going to get my money back. NEVER EVER USE FLIGHTHUB. Their customer service team is unbelievably horrible, and cancellation policies are a scam.

CAUTION!

We booked round trip flights with FH in April. The airline changed one of our flights which meant it no longer connected with our connecting flight so we contacted FH to help us change flights so that we could get to our final destination. They did this for us but would not issue the new ticket. They said we needed it from the airline, the airline stated we needed it from FH. They then told us to just cancel and rebook as they were unable to provide the e-tickets in time for our flight and that they'd refund us in about 6-8 wks if we did this. We questioned this as we felt uncomfortable cancelling a flight simply because they couldn't provide tickets but they reassured us. We took their advice and followed their directions. When the refund never came they stated that the $4200 refund was never approved. Their calls are recorded so we told them that we were entitled to the money as it was them who told us to cancel in the first place. They said they would investigate and get back to us in 3 business days. We never heard back and got the same spiel every time we called to follow-up. Each time we called we had to explain the situation all over because no one seemed to have any knowledge of what had taken place. How could you be investigating this and no one knows? No notes on the account? We asked to speak to a supervisor but they were always "busy". After months of no communication back, we started to prepare to take legal action. We told them this as we hoped they would just do the right thing if they knew we weren't just going to give up and go away. After all this, they only recently called saying that they would give us credit. We said no, that we doubt they can legally keep our money at which point they said we could have the refund. We finally got the refund early Aug…this all began in mid April and it was a couple hundred dollars short as they kept their fees and seat selection cost for the flight we never had a seat on.

This company is dishonest, and in this circumstance you could even say fraudulent. All they had to do was honour THEIR word. No excuse to be left waiting for months for them to take action and resolve this when it stemmed from an error on their end. It caused so much unnecessary anguish, stress and anxiety. I would caution anyone considering booking through flight hub because they certainly do not have the best interest of their customers in mind.

My experience with Flighthub has been the absolutely most disappointing, atrocious, disgusting, disorganized, unprofessional, frustrating, disrespectful experience of my life. They are an absolute NIGHTMARE to use. I will be advising every single person I know to never use Flighthub, and am warning people on as many review sites as I can. Allow me to explain and spare you all from this agony.

I purchased a flight through flighthub to Australia from Canada. Due to a family emergency, we had to reschedule the flight. The process of rescheduling the flight was horrible. Not only were we stuck on hold for hours, but we were transferred between multiple people for this simple task. Apparently none of their staff has any training or knowledge on computer processes or even any common sense as to what it means to work in customer service. They rescheduled the flight eventually, and said we would receive an updated itinerary within 24 hours. We did not. Tried to call back, was on hold for two hours, and decided to give up and try again later. This happened 3 more times - promised an updated itinerary but received nothing. Our departure date was slowly approaching and we needed the updated itinerary for our online flight code but they refused to comply. Once we finally received this updated itinerary, we noticed that the last leg of the trip had not changed, the times conflicted and the connecting flight would have already taken off before we landed. Additionally, we noticed that they charged us $700 for the flight change in which they said it would only be $50. Alas, we had to try contacting them again, and again had our flights changed. The itinerary issue repeated. We were unable to get in touch with them or get any confirmation once again, in which we decided to just cancel our flights altogether. Ensue more headaches...

Again, several calls, 10+ hours on hold, and multiple different customer service reps later. We decided ultimately to cancel these flights completely. The person we spoke to confirmed that we would be receiving a full refund as authorised by their supervisor. We did not receive any confirmation email or further correspondence from them regarding this. They estimated 6 - 8 weeks to receive our refund of over $5000 CAD. We rebooked our trip directly through Quantas and went on our way.

Upon returning, we waited patiently for our refund to appear in our account. We checked our email daily - unsurprisingly receiving no communication - until we hit week 10 without any correspondence or reimbursement. Over the last week, I have tried to call them 6 times. Every time I was on hold for at least an hour. Even when we got through to someone, they would then put us on hold again for 30+ minutes to look into our claim, and were ultimately no help in the end; advising us that it is still being investigated and that they would send us an email once they have more information to keep us updated. They have a record of everything in their system; their failure to place us on our rescheduled flights, our frustration in obtaining any kind of flight schedule, booking number, itinerary, or communication. We finally got through and they told us that we will not be receiving any sort of refund whatsoever, even though the entire reason we decided to cancel and book directly through Quantas was because they confirmed we'd get our money back. I am now getting my lawyer involved.

Last thing to add, is that we were doing their work for them. Each time we spoke to them to request an itinerary, booking number, anything... they said we need to contact Quantas ourselves. Which we did, and then were pointed back to Flighthub. Flighthub was the booking agent, hence they are the ones who need to handle our affairs regarding this flight. Even when we were inquiring about our refund, they told us to call Quantas and ask them. Quantas once again advised, that unfortunately because Flighthub is the one who took the payment and held our account, they were the ones who needed to handle the reimbursement.

TLDR; terrible customer service, no help, no communication, dishonesty, and unprofessionalism has resulted in my husband and I losing 20+ hours of our time sitting on the phone, an incredible amount of anxiety, and over $5000 of our money taken; and lied to about a refund. I suppose I can fault myself for this as well for not researching reviews for flighthub; which mostly confirm this company is a disgusting excuse for a travel agency. How are they even still in business? If I'm being honest, I feel like it has been a complete scam and they have taken our money and we will never see it back.

So yeah, avoid booking with flighthub, please.
