Five Star Professional

A Five Star Professional Award is not what many may think. Recipients of this award is NOT a measure of one's professional integrity, service quality and customer satisfaction. Five Star has this disclaimer, "The award methodology does not evaluate the quality of services provided." Overall it is just a marketing ploy.

Sharing my story:
My sister, Pearl Lee (married name: Gitter) is a Financial Advisor with Janney Montgomery Scott in Philadelphia, PA. She had won this award for Wealth Managers/ Investment Professionals for several years. But back in 2010-2011, I had fired Pearl when I discovered she had churned and decimated my retirement accounts. Pearl Lee had defrauded my investment portfolio! I repeat again...

Pearl Lee of Janney Montgomery Scott in Philadelphia DEFRAUDED my life savings!

Again, I am Pearl Lee's brother. I work for a non-profit, humanitarian service. I'm not rich nor do I make a six figure salary. My life savings was relatively small but humble and I trusted my big sister to manage my financial portfolio. After 18+ years of investing my life savings with Pearl Lee, I have absolutely nothing to show for it. This greedy sociopath had manipulated me, churned my account to consumed all the growth and even though I reported her illegal actions to Janney and to FINRA, she got to walk away unscathed. Pearl Lee had betrayed her fiduciary oath, her actions were clearly unscrupulous, financially unsound, criminal and indefensible. Janney defended her and she got to keep her employment.

Well in 2012, 2013 and 2014, Pearl Lee won this Five Star Award and she continued to market herself as a Fiduciary to other unsuspecting clients. If Pearl can ripoff the closest member of her own family, she will have no problem stealing from you! In 2013, she had released this bogus statement after receiving her 5 Star Award: "To be recognized as a source of quality financial service and sound advice in the local community is truly a great honor. I look forward to continuing to provide quality service and advice to my clients, to help them work toward their financial goals".

In summary, the people at Five Star Professional are basically awarding recipients if their license is current, employed and there is nothing negative they can find about the recipient online. You can be rude, greedy, incompetent or betray your fiduciary oath and still receive this award! So I took the necessary steps to share my story on many Consumer Complaint/Exposing Scam/Shame websites for the last 10 years (and counting). This, I believe, was what counter Pearl from ever receiving this annual award. Pearl Lee has one brother, me! I'm not anonymous and neither Pearl nor Janney had ever filed any defamation/libel suit against me. This should reveal much about the legitimacy of my accusations.

Each year, they (ie. The 5 Star program) grant Five Star awards to "wealth managers," investment professionals, real estate agents, mortgage professionals, and home/auto insurance agents. These award recipients must meet certain eligibility and selection criteria. Five Star has done a pretty good job in laying out evaluation steps, but it's a low hurdle and measures the wrong things.
