Several months ago a man from First Utility came here and asked me to let them install a fire hydrant on my property. My property is mostly woods and I didn't want them cut down so I said no. There are many places on this road that doesn't have trees and they could have put the hydrant there. On June 14 of this year I came home and they had cut more than 2 dozen of my trees completely out. I called their office immediately and had to wait until the next day to really talk to someone. He told me several times that they had the right to do that. I guess even if I said no. I really feel like they put the hydrant in a place convenient to a senior living place across the street. They could not have put it much closer without going onto their property and they were not about to do that. I'm sure they are more valuable as customers than some old woman in this house I am probably older than most of their customers. I am not far from 80 and recently fell and broke my hip. The space they tore up could easily fit 2 cars and it won't be long until it is a dump. I will either have to clean it up or pay someone because I would get a fine otherwise. That is so unfair. My late husband worked 50 years at his last job so we could live a decent life. They come here and ruin my property in one morning. I think the day that man came here and saw an old woman he knew what he was going to do. I am not trying to get money from them but I do want as many people as possible to know what they are capable of. I wish I could quit them but they are a monopoly and if I want water I have no choice. I had the spot they ruined measured and they have cut a lot more than the easement gives them the right to.

Absolutely terrible, terrible! We've been chasing for 6 months, we've called and emailed 6 or 7 times trying to get our refund from March or a bill. We made a formal complaint in May, still waiting for any response. Now threatening debt collection company when we still haven't been given a bill! Truly, unbelievably, completely useless.

Well where do I start first utilities what a joke
Signed up for smart meters and have had months of being made a fool of dont let this company any where your home. The first prison they sent to fit the meters did nothing came and left after waiting weeks. Weeks later they sent another one well he didnt know the difference between a condensing boiler and combi boiler he fitted a smart electric meter then the fun started again when it came to the gas meter my meter is small meter in a standard box on an outside wall I was told he would have to fit a temporary meter because my gas pipe would need to be cut back to make it shorter so the new meter would fit, the fun starts again he fitted one meter Said it didnt work so he removed that one and fitted another he Said that one didnt work all there was nothing wrong with the meters he hadnt turned the gas supply back on so he put the old meter back and just left with out saying he was leaving. The saga continues, the next chapter first utilities phone two say that another comedian would be calling in about five to six weeks to cut the pipe and fit the meter the day arrives I get a phone call from the next benny hill saying he was about ten minutes away but he wouldnt be able to fit the meter because of the weather conditions now Im really baffled we are having one of the nicest summers I can remember for a very long time benny hill arrived asked me where the gas supply comes into the meter this is a man sent to work on my gas and electric help.
Could it be that copper pipe covered in yellow going up the outside of my house into the gas meter I wonder. Next thing he said the only way the meter could be fitted as to nock down my living room wall. And then started to say that the meter could not be fitted and that he last person that was there was a layer and he had the parts to fit the meter, Very dangers people.
So, I phoned first utilities to complain here it starts again after spending twenty minutes complaining about he services and being told that he was taking notes I was put on hold for twelve minutes and then cut off waited for them to phone back that never happened, so I phoned back no notes where taken from my first call at all so start over again.
Was told some one would be back InTouch no one very did. So, I contacted their Resolution Centre team what a complete waste of time that was the person that was supposed to be dealing with my complaint never listened at all. Stay well away from this company.

My experiences with First Utility: -

1. I was not able to sign-up using their web application system (I kept getting a message saying that they could not supply energy to my house).
2. I was told that my application for supply had been cancelled, only after I phoned to ask why I had heard nothing from them.
3. I lost count of the number of different dates and times that customer services have said that I should submit my monthly meter readings.
4. I only twice received a nearly accurate bill even though I have always submitted monthly meter readings on the current requested dates.
5. I had my transfer to another supplier refused even though my account was in credit by over £100 and a customer services agent could see no reason for the indicator being set.
6. I received my final bill just over 6 months after I received my previous bill; even though First Utilitys T&C (section 4.2) state that customers will be billed every 3 months.
7. I received my final bill 10 weeks after I switched away from First Utility even though my new supplier had sent them a couple of days after the switch. First Utility later confirmed that they had received them but not entered them into the system.
8. I have never been able to use the android app.
9. I have never been able to submit my meter reading via the automated telephone system.
10. I have never been able to use the online system for anything other than downloading the wildly inaccurate bills.
11. I have never received an electricity bill that shows electricity meter readings.
12. I received one monthly electricity bill that was more than 3 times my actual usage. Someone entered my wildly inaccurate estimated usage twice.
13. I usually had automated and unhelpful email replies to email queries that I sent to customer services.
14. I had the most appalling service from customer service agents who all seem to be working from different hymn sheets.
