Find A Mover

Couldn't work out how to get house removal quotes efficiently but was recommended by a friend to use findamover.com.au. When I called up Find a Mover the person on the phone was very polite and helped me list my 3 bedroom house removal job from Toodyay to Dumbarton. During the day I had 4 quotes that come in. Thankyou for great customer service and your patience.

Needed to move just before the New Year a short distance from Pemulwuy to Oran Park. As the landlords wanted their property back. Scrambling to get a mover at that time as everyone I called was booked out or couldn't do it. Listed my move on Find a mover and these guys came to the party. I received 2 quotes the same day and was able to book a removalist in. Everything went well without a hitch. Thanks for a great tool for moving.

The movers we went with were able to start earlier than expected and were more than willing to place the furniture where we needed it once at the new location. Very friendly team and fantastic service.

It's a requirement to provide your mobile number before you can post a job. This usually wouldn't be a problem, but they do not keep your number private, and the removeralist companies have no boundaries. I started getting bombarded with texts and phone calls around 4+ calls & texts from some removeralists, and they even continued several days after I took the job down. I was forced to install an app that would block any calls coming from phone numbers that are not saved in my contacts.

All the movers quote in hourly rates, no flat rates. I was looking for a flat cost for my move so this was also a problem for me.

After booking in a job with a company, I got cancelled a day before I was suppose to move. Needless to say I was pulling my hair out and highly stressed. Then speaking to a friend they recommended I find a removalist through Find a Mover. I listed a job on that day and got 5 quotes back in a few hours and another 2 at night. I did not expect it. After going through the different profiles I was contacted by a removalist who was able to fit me in the next day. The removalist picked up on time at my Ivanhoe house and was set deliver to my new house in Frewville. So grateful to have found this website keep up the good work.

Moved over the Christmas period from Bibra Lake to Kwinana Beach. Only time I could take off, friend recommended findamover.com.au. Fantastic site, easy to use, put my 3 bedroom house move and didn't expect much but over the next few hours I received 6 quotes at fairly competively priced quotes to one another. Was able to read reviews. So glad I chose the transporter that I did because they did an amazing job and even helped sorted everything out and made sure things were where I wanted them.

What a joke, contacted by this mob City Removalist in Wetherill park, by using find a mover.
They sent a quote for $600 after me giving them details. Paid a deposit and book the date for the job to be done. Was told between 1 and 4pm and would call 1 hour prior to arrival ( did not call) so I called them at 3.30pm and was told they will be there in 30 min. Upon arrival 6 men came to do the job, stood around for a bit speaking to each other in a non English language and then said can't do this and left. I then rang the company telling them what had occurred and the girl said your kidding i will get the operations manager to call you ( today is Sunday and 2 days later and the operations manager still has not contacted me) how ever the girl in the of tells me on my second call the he will and unfortunately i will be charge a small fee for them going to the job. So job not done, deposit not returned and no one returning calls with any explanation or apologies for there actions. So Find a Mover may want to look into who they are recommending a bit better as the incompetence and lack of professionalism or concern for customers is zero.

Went through Find A Mover to organize a removal of a piano. Was given a business name Diamond Movers who quoted $250 but had to give $100 deposit up front. They got to the premises but got there with the wrong trolley and couldn't move it. They said they would come back the next. Never turned up, not even a phone call. I called them the following day and was then told it was to heavy for two people but they would go back with extra people to move it. But then they said the price is more. After questioning the 2nd quote, they said I had given them the wrong infomation. Well, it did say on application the weight was only an ESTIMATE. After talking to the manager I told them not to worry about it and to return my refund. They refused because they said I gave the wrong infomation again. After a couple phone calls, we agreed with 50% refund. 3 months later, still no refund. I've sent numerous text messages with no reply. Find A Mover should monitor who they have on their list. Regarding moving the piano, went through another company called POWELL PIANO REMOVALS who offered the same quote with only 2 workers and had no trouble what so ever. Definitely recommend POWELL PIANO REMOVALS.

As a service provider (removalist) Find a Mover has been a terrible experience and I strongly caution other removalists against using it.
-In a typical day the majority of leads are single items, people who are 'flexible' and people who openly admit they are just after a price. If you pay for 30 leads it is very hard to even use them in a month. If you are an owner operator you'll struggle to bolster your schedule with this site. If you have multiple trucks things will look even worse.
-When you decide to take time to respond to a lead, you send a quote and there is absolutely no indication whether your quote is viewed by the customer. Seemingly there is no way of the potential customer to respond because from 30/30 leads I did not receive a response.
-Beyond not responding to quotes through the system, most enquiries on Findamover do not answer the phone or SMS messages either. My own quoting system shows me when emails are open and the vast majority do not even open quotes.
-One enquirer that did answer the phone rudely responded that they were sick of being 'spammed' by removalists and went with another firm. Perhaps this is the kind of attitude of a person too lazy to call up for quotes the traditional way - the whole world revolves around them.
-Interestingly in the small print Find a Mover claims they give enquirer details to up to 7 different companies. A google review from Tony Featherstone indicates the actual number may in fact be more.

Perhaps this site might work well for undercutting, uninsured cowboys that can give cheap prices. I experimented with pricing based on various rates from my standard hourly and m3 rates, to breakeven level pricing and had no success.

I would highly recommend any legitimate removalist stays away from this site. Leave it to the cowboys and let the cheap customers get what they're willing to pay for.
