Greetings to all Excitron customers. One review by Dieter Gould in 2012 is interesting. He purchased one MRT8-86-118 (8" motorized rotary table), one MRT10-86-118 (10" motorized rotary table), and 3 additional Au86-118 intelligent motors. He had many troubles of breaking wires, wanting to extend the wire length too far, and claimed he had zero knowledge of electronics. We gave over 50 emails and phone calls to help Dieter, and gave many hours of engineering design assistance on his project, for free. But he kept abusing the cables, breaking the small wires and crimps. Dieter thanked us many times for our excellent customer service and help. After 2 years of his trying, he asked for a refund. 2 years is of course too long for any refund, and the rotary tables and motors worked fine, he had difficulty with any cables and motors.
Since 2014, Excitron did change and vastly improve all connectors, and added many wonderful new features. Excitron has manufactured the superior X86-118 for 5 years, and currently is the most powerful and full featured motor and controller available. Included is the exciting DRO Digital Readout, mounted right on the motor. The DRO shows RPM, position, rotary table angle to 4 decimal places, and all key parameters. Two built-in Joysticks give motor rotation for jogging, positioning, and automation. We offer Mr. Gould greatly reduced outstanding low prices for upgrading his 5 motors.
If, you are a Novice in the field of CNC, Beware... The owner talks very highly about his product, and all the wonderful things in the advancement of his technology. But, when asked questions, or you decide on having someone whom understands this field better than you to ask questions for you. He becomes very tight lip. And very evasive. He does not spend the necessary time in supporting you in making sure the equipment is going to run correctly. I had been in contact with his company for a little over two years. And, had to send the equipment back two times for electrical issues with the power supply, and connector issues with wiring. With that said, the motors I had purchased, had less than one hour of operational time on them!
The problem is in the equipment being too delicate to handle. He may have cutting edge technology. But, his asking price for this equipment is not worth the support that he gives, which is very little, if any... He makes claims that he has the very best! But, for the support he offers is not worth the money you pay. I had purchased five(5) motors from his company Excitron.com, for approximately $5,000.00. Once, he received the monies, and had sent the motors. You were pretty much on your own, after that! There's very little support if any! He says "All is F. O. B. To which you are responsible for." He will not take responsibility for his actions on the flaws of his equipment, he would rather spend time building a list on all the things you had said, and correcting you on all the miss spellings you had made, and/or second guesses you on your thoughts or grammar, then lays blame on you!
I had offered a buy back on his equipment, after taking into consideration of how highly he talks about his technology, and/also considered the cost of devaluation of such equipment. Therefore, giving him opportunity to buy at the fraction of the cost... His response was "No!" You're on your own!
Update: I had dismantle all of Excitron's motors from my CNC machine. Two of the motors were attached to turntables. And, had to discard one turntable. The other had to be modified, and refitted. All motors have been replaced with inexpensive motors shipped in from China! They work very efficiently, and have had 90% savings in costs! Unfortunately, this has been a very expensive lesson for me, and now, I have no use for Excitron motors...
