You respond to all their question and then they give you a link to insurance companies to "review" the quote. You click on one of them. Then you start all over again by providing the same information. Waste of time.
I input my info. Before I even go to the end where it tells me what's supposedly best, I started getting phone calls and text messages from telemarketers trying to sell me insurance. The ones who contacted weren't even the ones it told me were 'best'. They wanted me to spend more time giving all my information over again. Then the final page of my 'quotes' was just links to car insurance sites where I'd have to input all my info all over again.
There are actual companies who actually give you rough estimates based on your inputs and don't just send out all your contact info to telemarketers. For starters, Jerry - Personal Insurance Shopper (has a phone app), and Gabi (website based).
You get the impression that your info gets sent to insurers but, as Elephant Insurance said, "Your data didn't pull through."
Even after I completed a second application, Elephant couldn't insure me because I have an RV.
SCAM.
I'm sorry they are associated with Nashville.
I was shopping for insurance, and was trying to get a quote… These people called me 5 times in 10 minutes! I was on the other line, and couldn't answer… Talk about harassment. I would NEVER give my business to them simply for that.
This place says you will get a quote from them, but that is not true. You never get a quote from them. They will refer you to someone, anyone, who pays them and will give them your information. They sell your information is the point and do not disclose that.
I fell for what I thought was an article on the rise of the individuals who started EverQuote, but must have really been an ad by EverQuote. I filled out the price comparison and within minutes, my email, phone and texts were lighting up. I stated I wasn't wanting to replace, just compare online. The calls were so disruptive at work and I have to answer my phone because of other possible calls. EverQuote, at least they said they were from there, even called to verify facts and align appts for phone calls. I told them how frustrated I was and to stop the process and remove my info. Yet for hours after calls, texts and emails continued to come in. And the quotes I did receive were way more than what I pay now from State Farm.
Didn't remember my first time trying this site. Stupid me.
Today, tried it again after reading what appeared to be a legitimate description of how it was a great new CA up - and - coming offering that helps you, via an "algorythim" set by young math genious', to bypass the usual consumer time and headache involved with comparing insurance quotes.
What a joke! Took way too long to provide way too much detailed personal info after which I got one singular quote for 4X what I am currently paying.
I cringe/kick myself re: spending the amount of time and disclosing the amount of personal info for what? Nothing, zippo, just feeding another site with personal info they can use for their own personal benefit and against consumers.
I got 13 calls in 43 minutes four of them from everquote themselves I explain to them that I was busy and didn't have time to talk yet my voicemail kept getting messages my phone keeps ringing and my email is now full
They tell you to put your information into their site and they'll do all the comparisons for you absolutely untrue if you give ever-cool any of your information they will use it to harass you and sell the insurance companies your information
They will literally render your accounts unusable. You do not get insurance quotes.
You are a target not a client. They only collect your information to sell it to insurance companies and ANYONE and EVERYONE else who will pay for it. Makes your entry on 'do not call lists' pointless.
Long story short, I got some insurance quotes from this company but decided that I didn't need their service. Ever since then, I have been receiving so many scammer calls offering me car insurance or warranty EVERY SINGLE workday. They use some tech to generate a local number each time, such that you can't even block them. I really hope there are some laws preventing them from doing this, but for now, do NOT give your info to this company!
Be careful... if you think you are starting a simple process of getting competitive insurance quotes, think again. Simply speaking no insurance company will give you a quote without all of your detailed information. What you enter in the EverQuote website is just the beginning. Each insurance company will ask you to add even more of your personal information over and over again. Also, you are now on the call list with many telemarketers that your phone will go off like a pachinko machine when you hit the jackpot. Of course you gave them the permission to contact you, just don't do it! Youll have to provide your DOB, SS#, home address, detailed vehicle info and much more.
Highly deceptive operation. DOES NOT SIMPLIFY finding insurance. The idea that you just give your info once is a complete lie. The just sell your contact info and you will get unending calls from insurance carriers that not give you a quote until you provide all the painstaking details over and over again. They provide NOTHING that you wouldn't be better off doing yourself unless you just love being harassed endlessly by clueless sales calls from vendors who have no idea who you are. You get what you pay for - nothing.
What a great way to destroy your brand. Calling incessantly regardless of how many times I say stop. The picture shows all of the calls from Evequote and their subsidiaries to my cellphone over 48 hours. WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH.
If I could give negative starts or thumbs down I would! Read something on a news website so I decided to try it thinking "cool maybe since it was on the news it could work" and there is a we don't scam type of flag. This is the biggest SCAM! Before the page was even done loading I was being called for crap and was called 15 times in the first 20 minutes of clicking "get my quotes". DO NOT TRUST THIS SITE!
They sell & give your info to insurance companies. On 9/4 around 10am, I got bombarded 3 emails from State Farm, Geico with a partner MediaAlpha, & US Auto Insurance. An agent named Natalie from Please Get Insured call & text me 4 times about car insurance quotes. I did some research US Auto Insurance & Please Get Insured are Everquote According to Everquote site, they claimed we provided our own info but I NEVER provided info about me! How they got my info?! It scary. The next day I did email them & opt out on their site. I will see if that will do anything
Bleidys there sales lady talked them way up i feel like i was robbed of my time money and completely taken advantage of totally a scam never buy leads here
I entered info on this site because my current insurance bundling is complicated and I just wanted to know whether the auto part of it was in excess of what other companies might offer independently. This company promises online quotes, but that just doesn't happen. After submitting tons of info online I got inundated with responses about all kinds of supposed "quotes" then had to fill out more forms with much of the same info again. Even after that there were all sorts of links to "quotes" that really just connected me to phone numbers for agents of various insurance companies. I could have called all of these companies myself if I wanted to spend hours on the phone with insurance agents. Bottom line is that this is a scam. EverQuote does not provide online quotes, and they are not even connecting customers to companies that offer online quotes. They are wasting your time if you are a potential customer, and if you are a legitimate agency you are probably paying them money for nothing.
They have ads that if you are doing a google search for another site - nothing to do w insurance - AN EVERQUOTE AD POPS UP AND TOTALLY BLOCKS THE SITE YOU WERE Actually trying to access. DO NOT USE A SCAMMY COMPANY!
Won't stop calling. Tried helping my friend get a quote. Told them 4 times to not call me and the quote was not for me. Yet they keep calling.
I am pretty upset about this company.
I was looking for car insurance quotes online for temporary car insurance. I filled out their form with my personal details. They then linked me to three to four other websites which then asked me for more of my personal details. I didn't get a quote appearing on a webpage that i wanted.
Instead, within 1 day, i had 10-15 texts, 5-10 spam calls and 10-15 emails asking me to text them back for quotes. Now some of them did offer insurance quotes along with their texts. But they came from MANY MANY insurance companies, so that if i told them i wanted to stop, another insurance company would just bother me. I want this to stop. And they do not make this stopping process easy.
I had to google this data privacy form in order to stop the calls.
https://www.everquote.com/data-privacy-form/
I had to fill out this form several times with the same information in order to get through. In the meantime, I had to endure another day or so of spam calls, texts and emails from insurance agents. Which I don't want.
I also had to put my phone number on the do not call registry
https://www.donotcall.gov/
Again, it takes awhile to go into effect.
I don't know if this way of doing business it's legal. But even if this is, it doesn't seem very ethical or customer friendly to me. Left a bad first impression. I don't want to see them again. Hope they change their ways.
Answer: I don't know for sure, but they certainly shared my info with malicious robocalling scammers that bugged the ever living crap out of me. They do share quotes but it wasn't helpful to my use case.
