Office 2010 Pro for $200 seems to be what draws a lot of people to these guys. Got a similar story to many others where the email was delivered promptly and it claimed we'd been "upgraded" to Professional Plus.
Here's the straight story, Plus is a volume license product typically sold to companies under a volume license agreement with an initial purchase requirement of 5 licenses. You get a nice website via Microsoft to manage your purchases all in one place. Evaluesoftware is apparently purchasing additional volume licenses under their own account and reselling them to end users as a "retail" product.
Spent about an hour on the phone with various Microsoft departments before getting to someone who could answer whether or not this was all above board, despite the somewhat deceptive description provided by evaluesoftware. Final verdict, this is a practice that is more frequently done when a customer requires the features of Plus, but doesn't need 5 licenses to open an account with Microsoft. It's kosher in their eyes if not a little unconventional. All that remains is the deception on the part of evaluesoftware in calling it a retail version. Volume licenses otherwise are valid on both a desktop and a mobile device for one user per license as they claim.
Also had some install problems caused by odd conflicts between the retail preinstall on new Dell laptops and the volume license install. Remove the preinstall and any other existing retail office products and you should be good to install the volume license copy.
We've ordered software licenses from this site several times over the past couple of years. Ordering is easy and the licenses come by email with-in a couple of hours.
Any software site that deals in OEM software you need to be careful with (OEM software is supposed to only be used by system builders, and has no manufacturer support, but lots of sites get around this by throwing in some useless piece of hardware that 'technically' satisfies the OEM license), but that being said I have ordered a copy of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat from this site and both activated fine. As far as the delay in getting a key to activate the downloaded software, it's happened on every site I have used (I am a computer consultant and buy 15-20 MS and Adobe licenses a year). You definitely have to carefully read what you are buying, I noticed someone was complaining about the MSDN subscription they thought they bought. There are multiple different flavors of this license, and the cheaper one that is for sale is exactly what they say, it's not the full Professional one.
So, buyer beware, but it worked for me so far.
