Etags, makes renewing your vehicle registration a breeze. Instead of going to the DMV, and waiting in long lines. Etags, you can do online from the comfort of your home, and the price of your registration renewal is bout the same you would pay at the DMV. Etags charges a small convenient fee but it's worth itI got my temporary registration fast just downloaded it after payment was made. Then about a week later in the mail I got my registration and tags.
For $50, the tags should have been hand delivered in a silver platter with caviar. Now I'm doing your work for you by confirming delivery? Didn't Biden pass legislation on scam fees. This is taking advantage of people by forcing an extra charge on them for something people need to do every year. Drop the price by 80% and then I'll give you another star for moving up from scam to hustle. Just because I have to renew my vehicle registration, it shouldn't make me a mark.
this is the first time ever having to pay more than the stated registration renewal. The extra fees were totally not expected nor was I apprised of them or of possible extra fees at anytime. It is not ok. I thought DMV was becoming more customer friendly. There is aneed for better and improved communication.
When I entered my license plate online, I was informed no such plate existed. When I tried a second time, I was (erroneously) informed that I already had renewed my registration. I ignored that and used the VIN to complete the order. There was explanation as to why the fee was not $135. The vehicle has two owners, but the online procedure provided no way to enter the second owner's name.
Efficient.
Did not like that there was no info about extra charge if paying with a credit card before ordering the product It was only noted after payment. Suggest putting the notice before choosing payment method in bold print. I would have used a personal check if I was informed of the extra charge before paying. Can I still change my payment method after the fact?
I applied for and paid for my e-tags in December. I never received them. I was informed by email that my registration was expiring at the end of January. I then checked on line and was informed that my registration was renewed. I then tried to use the chats service and was informed that it was an issue I needed to speak with a representative about. I called three times and was disconnected each time before anyone answered. My only recourse was to apply for replacement stickers at my own expense.

I placed an order to renew the registration of a 2019 Expedition, which was my mistake. That was a leased vehicle that I turned back in January 2023. I want to cancel this order but it says "All Sales Are Final." I do not want a new tag or registration. Fortunately, the new registration has not been sent to me. I want back the fee paid of $261.00. Please contact me.
29.95 to help the local branch out seems steep. We suffer either way, whether its long waits or extra fees. Seems silly.
I didn't like the extra changers for stricter. I really think Calif. is getting there money out of me by charging me $ 188.00 for a 9 year old car. And the other charging more $30.00 for stickers & another $4.95
I did not like being charged extra for this service. The statement from the DMV Said one price and then more was added by this organization.
Have been renewing my DMV registration for years with no issue, now with etags I have to pay an extra $29.95 for the payment service. I hope DMV goes back to the previous online payment without the extra payment for etags. :-(
A little taken back at the finals fee. Was originally $216.00 and no late fees due. Because of using the computer, another $34.90 was added.Did not ask for express mailing, just regular mail.
Renewing by mail, I expected to pay "reasonable costs for shipping. I did not expect a $20 charge for service fees. There isn't anything on the site to say there would be an additional charge for using this service. That's what angers me.
As far as the actual service, I got my renewal within 48 hours. I am happy with that.
I think that a statement when you first get to the site saying that this is a third party vendor and that there will be an additional charge would help with "sticker shock." With this pandemic going on, it would not surprise me if we have a 2d wave closing more businesses including the DMV. Forewarned is forearmed.
why am i paying credit card convenience fee twice when ordering 2 tags but paying one total>????? why is there etags service fees when I am required to order online due to COVID19. Basically i am paying $19.05 more for online service rather than price for walk-in in person. I could have ordered via mail and saved some money but the offices were supposed to be open by now. Really disgruntled esp. after money is real tight due to COVID19
it seems that the fee for $29.95 should be an option if we wanted expedited registration I would have preferred not to have this however there was no option to have it removed I believe it is a cost that I really cant afford we already have a fee for processing fee which is ridiculous I would not have these fees if I walked into a DMV or AAA office which I usually do and now due to Covid-19 everyone is shut down I am experiencing a hard enough time trying to get things paid now, I am paying for fees on top of everything else. UNFAIR
Registration in California is already outrageous. I'm being charged 29.95 to e-file my registration, which saves labor on the DMV end. Also, the office is not taking appointments due to Corona virus, so what choice do I have? Seems like price gouging to me.
You initially charged a higher price for your service and you are misleading into describing your fees.
But in the end it all worked out
Not liking the idea of not being able to speak with a live person with questions concerning this transaction. Bring back human contact!!!!
I am unhappy that I have to pay $29.85 for online processing during a stay at home order and the DMV is closed.
The automatic new card identifier got the wrong number. Also doubling the price for online payment is thievery. Online payments are usually cheaper then their brick and mortar counterparts not more expensive.
The DMV included additional charges on line that did not match bill sent in the mail. Lack of respect for working people
I didn't realize (nor was anything mentioned prior) that there was an additional charge to the basic one-year 37 dollar renewal fee. Why is it almost DOUBLE the price for the tag???
rejecting valid information. Having to redo several times, thus putting private information at risk.
Why did I pay an additional $19.95 for e- ticketing? I may have missed something, however it seems that filing on line should be less expensive, not more. Thank you. Noreen
I put the form through on March 30 but received no email or mail with current registration !! I certainly hope I have not paid twice.
E tag fee makes my statements just $36 totally wrong .. this should show on tax bill as option and it don't as far as I can see
Didn't appreciate the extra fee of $25 when we're not able to go into a DMV and pay this because of the pandemic
