When our roof needed replacing after damage and age, of course we turned to Erie for our h/o insurance and filed a claim. We are a retired hardworking middle class couple who have literally never had a prior homeowners claim in 30 years, and now when we really need to depend on our insurance, Erie decides to give us $2,000. Total replacement value, and will only replace one of the 2 roofs on our split level home so they will be totally mismatched! We thought that was crazy and unacceptable and proceeded to dispute the claim to no avail. They stuck to their guns and we were out of pocket for almost $6,000. So what do I need them for, such a rip-off and we are totally dissatisfied with Erie. So buyer beware when purchasing insurance for your home and loved ones and don't trust Erie Insurance!
Well I just want to say, I have been with Erie Insurance for about 6 years. I was carjacked in March of 2017. My car which I was leasing for only 2 months had about 10,000 worth of damage. Mind you I was carjacked at gunpoint. Well Erie Insurance demanded they put me back in this same car. They wanted it repaired, even though the point of a lease is having a brand new car. They did not care that i was traumatized and very afraid to go back in this car that was ruined. They gave my boyfriend and I a very hard time. They called us from the Eastlake, Ohio office and were almost accusing myself and boyfriend of fraud. In short, they are the most horrible and greedy insurance company. I have never even been late on a payment. I feel like in a time of desperation, they turned their back on me. They are complete $#*!s. As soon as I am done with all my court hearings, i am ditching them and finding someone else. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. THEY WILL NOT HAVE YOUR BACK. THEY ARE PURE EVIL!
