Emu Therapy

In the 1990s, a great Oklahoma businessman and entrepreneur, Jack McClung, was searching far and wide for the next big thing. He was first introduced to emu oil and its miraculous powers of instant relief at a State Fair. As his creative ideas began to flourish, Jack experimented with emu oil and found that it is effective for pain relief. Mixing his concoction in ketchup containers, he supplied the cream to customers at his local BBQ restaurant. After collaborating with an old friend on the ingredients, word began to spread about Jack’s magical pain relief cream. With new herbal ingredients in the mix, Jack found that his pain relief formula worked even better. He closed his BBQ restaurant and opened a “Pain Clinic” where he advertised free treatments. Jack originally called his brand new product “Emugesic Balm,” but his customers were itching for a more straight forward name, so he settled on "Blue Stuff."

Jack enlisted the help of his daughter Debra, and continued to grow the company through infomercials. Like a blink of an eye, The Amazing Blue Stuff was the top running infomercial in the United States in 2002. Over $40 million is spent to make Super Blue Stuff pain relieving cream a household name. In 2004 Debra took over as President of the company and worked to build her father’s business into a sustainable company. Her business, Blue Spring International (BLUESPRING), bought the assets of her father’s company, but continues to offer all Blue Stuff products directly to customers in the United States and Canada.

Debra wanted to expand the reach of BLUESPRING and in 2009 partnered with a major industry leader in the development of quality nutritional supplements to obtain products for their customers and receive new distribution to spread the message about Super Blue Stuff. Debra also wanted the company to be responsible for bringing more educational material on healthy living to their consumers, so BLUESPRING began to produce a monthly mini-catalog to keep consumers informed on how to stay more active and avoid pain. By 2016, Debra was traveling extensively and realized that the product outreach must change to fit her wide variety of consumers. The BLUESPRING team created a digital space that educates all consumers from travelers to athletes on the importance of healthy living, constant activity, and living every day to the fullest.

In 2022, corporate changes were made to position BLUESPRING as a brand within the family of Emu Therapy. Emu Therapy began to develop other brands of its own and to expand its reach to even more customers. The digital space is in the process of being revamped once again to keep up with current trends and technology. New platforms and tools are being harnessed to position Emu Therapy for growth and prominence in the health and wellness space.
