I was just randomly searching something on google with a topic fraud because I got scammed few years ago. I found this Ellis & Burlington website and gave my contact information. I´m desperately looking for an attorney to help me because the police is unwilling to do anything for me and I even know my scammers. After I had given my contact information, already after few hours I got a phone call from a Belgian number. I didn´t pick up because I didn´t recognize the number. Later I got an e-mail from Mr. Claudiu from Ellis & Burlington who was the caller. I didn´t answer his message and during the next 3-4 days he probably called 10 times. It was this week one Monday when I blocked his number because I was so pissed off of his constant calls. Soon after this he tried to call me again. Then Mr. Claudiu sent me an e-mail and was telling that he couldn´t get through when he tried to call me. He said that he would like to speak face to face. I told that I would fix the phone issue and that he could call me on Wednesday. He replied and said something that he could arrange a face to face meeting with skype and wanted to know more about my case. I sent him an e-mail told the most important facts. Even I told him to call on Wednesday, he called me yesterday, on Tuesday. He called me twice and I picked up put couldn´t hear anything and the phone call was cut. I called back and we spoke about 40 minutes which cost me about 10 euros. Considering that it was an international call, I knew it would cost me something. During the phone call he talked and talked and at some point I already started to be a bit suspicious. Of course he wanted me to send all the important documents and even my id/passport and divorce certificate. They don´t need them so I started to be even more suspicious. I just let him talk and was already thinking that this is not gonna work. Mr. Claudiu told that my case was a bit difficult but that I had 93% chances to get my money back. It´s sounds weird that some law firm or whatever they are, could trace the money because I know it´s difficult even to the police. Though in my case the police has messed up everything since the beginning. When we talked on the phone, he sent me an e-mail with a link to trustpilot website where I could see reviews of the company. Surprise surprise, the average score was 4.6. Mr. Claudiu was telling that the upfront fee was 15% of the amount I lost and that if I got my money back, I would pay 5%. In my case even the 15% would have been too much for me to pay, no matter even this company would have been a real one. Funny though, after the phone call, it popped up a new negative review on trustpilot and the score dropped to 4.5. I went through the comments and could see that they had answered only to negative reviews and of course in a bit negative way. How does anyone know who writes those reviews, especially the positive ones? Later I found another trustpilot comment/review section of this scam company with a score of 3.3. Also yesterday, I got an e-mail from Mr. Claudiu where he had attached the agreement and mentioned the upfront fee. This morning I sent him an e-mail and told that I would like to cancel the skype meeting and that I didn´t have the amount they want in advance. He sent me a long e-mail and told that he could talk to the manager and ask to cut the upfront costs. The whole message was full of ****. I didn´t reply. After that he has tried to call me 3 times and I haven´t picked up. I blocked the number and we´ll see if he´s gonna contact me anymore. Even there would be a real company existing that could try to get your money back, what´s the point? You always have to pay something to them for doing their job. And now when I´m thinking this even more, after I gave my contact information on their website, the first call came really quick. This communication with them has lasted about for a week now and I´ve been getting probably at least 15 phone calls. Even one star is too much. I give negative stars.
