I get many messages from people with screen names like
MailmeTerryalice992AtGmail which are obviously fake and trying to get my contact info, Also get them form people saying they are leaving the site but have a friend who likes me and asking me to email their friend. All obvious attempts to get my contact info. These two examples make up about 90% of the messages I receive and on the site there is nowhere to contact the company about it.
I originally tried this when the site was rather new about 2, or 2 1/2 years ago. And right away I was completely suspicious of the site activity. When sites like this start up, They won't have the traffic to pull people over from other sites and be competitive... So they hire SHILLS from East Asian countries like Philippines and others that speak English, to fill out their database with fake profiles from all over the US...
It was very obvious and none of these prospects or fake profiles contacted me, or even made the slightest attempt at being conversational... I filed a charge back and had a look at their BB records and basically they are paying Google to keep their website in the top 10, which really pisses me off when I do a search nowadays and it still pops up, last time at #1! Congrats you took a scam to #1... or at least you paid a search engine, for a high rating, over using the last when it has never ever been a site of any repute.
In fact there are very few that I could actually recommend, But certainly there are ones that are populated with actual people! All of those personality models are made with the same simple algorithm... which doesn't work, no matter how many of their dumb questions you answer. People on this site are just too lazy to throw that rock at the corner bar!
It's interesting to note that the top 5 personal sites they are all owned by the same company, including elite singles, and akso the reason that they can afford to pour all of this money into it. Basically these websites are in business to stay in business and getting you hooked up with a actual prospective mate is not even their #1 priority. The only thing they are trying to do is give you hope that their algorithm and their website will give you the edge over real life, when in many situations it's actually the opposite. If they can keep you on the site for years at a time, they make even more money. The only thing they are actually interested in is how many of these websites can the market support nationally! That's why the 1st 5 sites are all owned by them... possibly more...
By owning as many as they can in the actual market they are aware of how saturated the market is and how many it can actually support.
And one thing I really despise about this is that that the algorithm is is very limited in scope and doesn't let you do even simple keyword searches... And unlike almost every other competitors site, this one will not let you try anything for free... meaning you will not get any functionality of your profile for the hours worth of work you put into it answering the dumb questions... Your profile will not do s*** until you pay the money! No test ride... just throw your money down a hole and face odds MORE DAUNTING, than if you went to the corner bar, threw a rock and hit a girl! It's THAT bad, not to mention riddled with scammers, often times as many as genuine ads, but they leave the scammers in. Because they fill out the numbers! Yep! They really suck!
These guys regularly scour and scrub comments against their website off the net because they don't want people to see them and understand that they are completely worthless completely meaningless personal website. But one thing they can't hide is the history of complaints that the Better Business Bureau has on them and even though they have dealt with almost all of them you'll be able to see the history of what makes this the worst personal website ever.
There are pictures and screen shots I have going back before I met my wife. They can do something. They won't.
Do not sign up unless you have a bank that handles fraudulent charges.
DO NOT PAY THESE THIEVES ONE CENT! Simply, you will be matched with utterly random people. There are two basic ways these idiots will match you with other members: (1) "Matches" and (2) "Have you met..."
"Matches" is a list of profiles that this supposed algorithm thinks are suitable for you, but you will just get totally random men whose profiles are nothing like yours. Most of the "Matches" do not even have a profile picture and contain few words. I think the daily "Matches" are simply new profiles made by people who haven't paid to join, therefore you won't be able to communicate with them anyway because you have to pay to use all the messages features, etc.
Here are a few salient paragraphs from a complaint I sent them. I haven't heard back. I cannot find a phone number to call, I just have to write.
My complaint:
"Here is a run down of the most recent 20 profiles listed under "Matches."
1. The number recorded is how many words are contained in their profile.
2. "Y" means their profile contains a photo/s and "N" means it does not. (As stated above 12 out of 20 do not contain a photo = more than half.) You yourself have said below that it is "good news" when a photo contains a profile. So, if only 40% of my "Matches" have a photo, then than is in factaccording to your own metricsbad news.

How are you able to perform a "personality" overview on profiles containing so few words? In fact, why did you match me with David who has ZERO words in his profile AND ZERO photos? How could you match him with anyone? He hasn't given any information. Do not further insult me about the 3 boxes he has selected containing the words "optimistic," "industrious," and "energetic."
I have reason to believe that the incomplete, spartan profiles are written by people who are not paying members of the website and therefor cannot view or respond to any contact I make with them. What is the point of offering such profiles to me? They are dead-end profiles and might as well be a fake construct of elite singles.
Alsoand not for the first timeyou have matched me to a profile that is "in review." So this profile isn't even yet a legitimate profile. You are wasting my time with profiles that are not even vetted yet.
You have wasted my time by making me write this email.
My position concerning the refund hasn't changed, in fact, now that I have compiled the above data, I feel now, more than ever, that you owe me a full refund.
I expect to see this money refunded by Wednesday March 18th 2020. I have wasted enough time generating this email.
Finally, I have copied below an email I received 2 days ago about a security alert regarding an illegitimate profile/scam artist, in which you claim to "believe in full transparency." I expect you to honor your beliefs by providing me a full refund for the reason stated above and more..."
Dear reader of this review: I could go on and on about the deficiencies of this website. You might as well just go and hang around at a random bus station and talk to men there. Oh, have I mentioned that elite singles even suggested a woman as a match for me? I selected that I was a woman interested in men, so matching me to a female's profile is such a novice error it is a joke. The very first information you supply when you start your profile is what your male/female preference is. RUN FOR YOU LIVES. THIS WEBSITE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. WE OUGHT TO INITIATE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT.
DO. NOT. USE. THIS. WEBSITE.
After registering for a free (basic) membership on this site, completing a "personality test", and, finally, filling out an extensive user profile (a process which took several hours to complete), I found out that I had to purchase a "Premium Membership" simply to view the FACES of any of the other members, let alone send someone a message. I had received numerous emails with subjects entitled "Meet your matches!" and "Your profile has been visited - curious?" almost immediately after registering. Naturally, I WAS very curious about who was interested in me, and was anxious to see with whom I had been matched. However, the least expensive option for a Premium membership was $69.95, and that was only for a single month of access! I wasn't about to pay that much money for a dating site that I knew nothing about, despite my curiosity (which was greatly impacted by the aforementioned steady stream of emails that I was receiving, which led me to believe that there were many women interested in me).
I decided to email Customer Care and complain about how I had already completed a profile, that I would like to try out Elite Singles, but that the cost of a one month subscription was far too expensive at $69.95 (especially compared to a site like Adult Friend Finder, which only costs $29.95 for a one month "gold" membership). I was shocked to receive a reply offering me a free 3-day trial of their premium service. Realizing the value of this gift, I spent much of time during the next three days on the site. I filled out my profile completely (well, almost; the site has a "completeness gauge," and it stated that my profile was 85% complete). I was notified that I had "new matches," which I was excited to review. Very few (if any) of my matches lived close to me (within 100 miles); however, I was not surprised by this, as I had been a gold member on Adult Friend Finder for some time, and I rarely found any women located near me. I sent out MANY messages and "likes" (both to my matches and to anyone I could find within 300 miles of my location), hoping to get a response. However, at the end of my 3-day trial period, I found that I had not received a single reply to my messages (despite the fact that my profile had been viewed numerous times, and that I had been matched to over a hundred other women).
Besides this obvious lack of active members, I found three other major problems with the site: 1.) You can only see the name of the city that another member lives in, not the state. So, unless the person lives in a large city, there is no way to know how close they are to you. 2.) At least HALF of the members (likely more) that I was matched with did not include a single photo of themselves in their profile! (so, well over 100 members) 3.) I would conservatively estimate that 80% of the members that I was matched with had filled out less than 25% of the information on their profile (a more realistic estimate would be that 90% of the members had filled out around 10% of their profiles).
Also, based on the few women on the site who actually had posted pictures and completed a profile, I didn't find hardly any of them to be very "elite" (as one would expect, given the site's moniker). In fact, I would consider very few of the women even "attractive" (and I am not a tough critic) - I would give my matches an average rating of 6 out of 10 in terms of attractiveness. Moreover, since so many of my matches had filled out so little of their profiles (and NONE of them had responded my messages), I am not even able to give an average rating based on personality.
One final annoyance: the site would send me emails with subjects claiming that I had new "messages." However, I discovered that the creators of Elite Singles had redefined the word "message"; in every case, when I received an email claiming that I had a new "message," I found that my "message" was nothing more than an alert that one of my matches had (finally) uploaded a picture to their profile! What a let down!
In order to receive the 3 day Premium PLUS membership trial, I was told to go this site https://www.elitesingles.com/free-dating, click on "Start trial today", and then enter my username and password to log in. If this doesn't work for you, simply create a free account and then send an email to customer support (support@elitesingles.com) similar to the one that the one that I did (as described in my review).
