Ed2go courses
June 27, 2017

I have recently taken 4 Ed2go courses. They all were very well organized and informative. I will be taking additional courses from them in the future. Love the convenience of taking online courses.

I took a bookkeeping course. I already had some background in this field. The course description says students who complete the course will be prepared to take on entry-level work as full-charge bookkeepers. That is not accurate. The information about payroll, in particular, was not comprehensive enough. This course really seemed more geared towards enterpreneurs wanting to manage their own books. If that's what you're looking for, it's probably fine, but it's probably not the best option for someone looking to become a professional bookkeeper. The content about QuickBooks was superficial. Many of the final exam questions were about keyboard shortcuts and basic commands in the software. Fortunately, the unemployment department paid the tuition for me. I would be really pissed if I had spent my own $2,000 on this course. Half of it was a basic software tutorial. I did learn from it, and having a certificate might be useful in finding work in the field, but I think if I had not already done work as a bookkeeper, this course would not be adequate preparation for a job. I think this course is worth about $500. It's not worthless - just not worth what it cost. The instructor never replied to my emails.

This needs to addressed 20 years back one would find these shanty buildings around town that were called " Fly by night schools " which is a non credit, non transferable course, certificate course or courses. Your certification was of course a joke because it was outdated to begin.
We have heard about ECPI and ITT Tech school scams and the banks that took advantage of potential students in the 1980s. After that most these schools went bankrupt. Because of the post pandemic situation, the restrictions have been lifted for more online classes. Enter edtogo which is nothing more than these old scam classes and they have now somehow been labeled legitimate an have infected their way into colleges and their "WorkCenter adult education programs ". Since most are online and self paced the teachers in remote locations lead these classes. Most but all involve reading the book and answer questions maybe paper or two.
You can email the teacher but they limited compared say a flipping zoom meeting. Gone is any interaction between the students and teachers not real-time so the individual interaction is lost. This was the exact reason with those old "Fly by night schools" failed so here is a mental picture.old car new paint same broken engine. The interesting thing is the price difference. Let's compare 200 back in the day to now about $2000 to $5000 because they link at professional level test to become entry level certified. This gives a false impression that you will get enough traction to pass this test. Nope the subjects are rigged provide the absolute minimum. So unless you do outside preparation for those 90 test questions of course not even providing job opportunities edtogo gets a free ride. The colleges benefit with their blood money because they are making a scam become legit.
Honestly you're better off to prep for the exam then secure the book or knowledge and pay for the exam yourself. But hold on now.ohh you not allowed to take the sit in exam till you can produce a certificate of completion. What a catch 22.

I took a small Java course to learn computer programming, for about $200. It was good, similar to a beginner book but the instructor was helpful & answered questions timely. Nice. At the end of the year they offered year end discounts, I took an Accounting Course, and a more expensive Java course, hoping to really get compentant. The accounting was similar, reasonable price, only a bit dated (printouts not spreadsheet) and alot of payroll that nowadays people would likely use a service for. Still, the instructor was very helpful.

Except for this AWFUL $1,000 Java course I've taken. It's terrible. Imagine reading a book on your computer screen, no humanized or instructor crafted notes. A few videos from an obvious previous training website platform, where they just kinda show you Java, like they're bragging about it or something?! Uhmm, excuse me guys, when can I join in? I feel like I'm 14 watching my 18 year old brother & his friends hog up the computer time.

Awful. Do not sign up for any expensive courses. $100-$200, maybe at your own risk, but anything else previous students seem to have signed up for a similar fate. Bad course, no real value, no refunds. No job growth from it. You've been warned. DO NOT SPEND BIG MONEY HERE! Courses are very shoddy and not real 'professional training'.

IM super upset with Ed 2 Go. I feel like I have been scammed. I bought a very expensive course from them that took 6 months to complete. Once your course time ends you are not allowed to access all the info that you completed. The only thing I get to keep is the stupid book they made me purchase. This is complete BS I should be allowed to access my completed work forever. Now I have to blow them up with bad reviews. Thanks for NOTHING ED2GO

THEY DO NOT LET YOU KEEP YOURE COMPLETED WORK TO USE FOR A RESOURSE WITH ANY FUTURE QUESTIONS

After signing up for Ed2Go classes to earn certificates in Digital Marketing and Social Media for Business, I was excited to begin learning new skills that would hopefully help me in my career. The links to my classes was sent by UGotClass. I was disappointed when I discovered the content was mostly unimaginative, with "canned" slide presentations and links to outdated articles on both subjects. I jumped through the hoops, though, in hopes of at least learning something new. After 3 months of working through the content, I was awarded the certificates I earned, only to find out they are generic with the wording "Certificate of Achievement" (no mention anywhere of Digital Marketing or Social Media for Business on the certificates). A picture of my "Digital Marketing Certificate" from UGotClass / LERN is included with this review... I could have read up on digital marketing and social media for business on my own, and made my own certificates instead of spending hundreds of dollars on these courses. Very big disappointment! If you are looking for credible courses to help advance your career, and counting on having proof of your efforts, don't go with Ed2Go.

I took ed2go inexpensive courses that around $100 per online course and they were okay for the price; however, I just signed up for an IT Security Certification Course with ed2go (A $5000. 00 course) and this course is no better than their $100 courses. So for the price of the course it is pretty bad and I would like to make sure to get the word out to as many people as possible not to waste your hard earned money away with ed2go's more expensive courses.

I took this ed2go class through National University, and National University should be embarrassed to have their name associated with ed2go.

I have taken online certification courses through UC Irvine and VillaNova University and both of those Universities were excellent well run online courses/certification courses. I really think I got scammed with signing up with ed2go for this IT Security Certification Course, and I will not take any more ed2go courses unless they are the low cost ($100 courses).

Oh by the way, once you start their online program there are NO REFUNDS, so they swindle you out of your money!
