WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!
April 6, 2024

ID GIVE THIS COMPANY NO STARS IF THAT WAS AN OPTION!
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND TIME. This whole experience booking a rental through you guys has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. First, the communication was subpar to what I expect from a rental company. To have no communication on the day of the pickup was unacceptable. I was not able to reach the branch where, I mind you, five plus employees were present when I arrived an hour and a half later after getting dropped off by the rental car bus to the rental car center, and their shuttle was supposed to "run every fifteen minutes." If you don't pay close attention, you'll have to call to find out you must go outside and wait for the shuttle. I also purchased what was supposed to be a "skip the line" fee, which was not what happened, so you guys scammed and frauded me with that option. We had to wait another hour and a half to get a car, and we signed in, and it was first come, first served. I had tentative plans that night that I missed because of your rental companies' negligence and timely customer service. If you have an event and are flying in the day off, expect a rental immediately. THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY TO RENT FROM. I will not use this rental company again when I come to DFW. It was the worst experience I have ever dealt with, and I've traveled for work for over a year every two weeks. The car smelled like I walked into an ashtray that had been sitting in the sun for over six months. The vehicle I purchased for the weekend almost wasn't available. They would put me in a different car than I opted into.

WHAT A JOKE OF A PLACE; I WOULDN'T BOTHER IF YOU GAVE THIS PLACE A BAD REVIEW BECAUSE OF YOUR HONEST EXPERIENCE; THEY DON'T GIVE YOU THE TIME OF DAY OR REPLY AFTER ASKING YOU TO REACH OUT TO THEM CONCERNING YOUR REVIEW. I'VE WAITED FOUR DAYS NOW, AND IT SAYS EXPIRED. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, JUST YOUR MONEY. IT MAY BE CHEAP, BUT IT ISN'T WORTH THE HEADACHE AND TIME WASTED!

BEWARE!
June 17, 2021

A very bad experience! And not over yet, sadly. :( After planning a weekend with my daughters and daughter in laws, (which took us over 2 years to find a time to work for all of us), we flew in from all over the United States and rented 2 cars through Easirent.
All went well with renting the first car, until late on the 2nd evening it wouldn't start in a parking garage. Absolutely NO help via phone at 9pm. Thankfully, after over 1/2 hour trying everything we could think of, (and prayer), we finally got it started and back to our Airbnb. After spending the entire next morning trying to reach help by phone and then returning it, (as we didn't trust it)... we were told we wouldn't get a refund for the remaining 2 days we had rented it for! I went to the Manager and told him our experience, to which he wrote up a request for a return (said he was not authorized to process returns), and told me 'they' would call in a day or two. After returning home and 4 days later... and NO call... I finally called in this morning. I called 5 times... was on hold 5 times, then the phone would ring a dozen times and hang up... which I read reviews of the same frustration. I kept calling and FINALLY made it through, only to be told by a young man that he would contact 'them' and have 'them' call me. I said that was ALREADY done over 4 days ago & 'they' still hadn't called me, after being told I would be contacted in a day or two. I expressed my frustration with this company & that after reading reviews, I am obviously not the only one and told him I was sorry he had work for them... to which he hung up the phone! Wow. We were supposed to get a 2nd rental car from them as well, but when we arrived, we found it was booked in Miami, not Hollywood. I booked from Priceline, so it was my problem, not theirs, but they told me I must have typed in Miami and I needed to call an Uber and they couldn't help us. Super short with us and super rude. I did not type in 'Miami', so not sure what happened there, but there was another group trying to get a car that had the same thing happen to them. The first time we were in the Easirental venue trying to pick up our car, we waited 45 minutes with only 3 people in front of us. And EVERY person there had issues to deal with! They said the car was rented from Miami for us and also for another group, another couple were told they had the wrong time for pickup, another group was given a car with a bashed in front driver door. When returning the car after it was not reliable to start, we found AGAIN that everyone in line had problems! A gal said her car wouldn't start (just like ours), and another couple was having problems with their car (not sure what it was). I SO wish I had read reviews before renting from this company. I am willing to try other businesses and give them a chance, but if this is how they are trying to break into the market, this kind of service makes me never want to do that ever again. I actually felt bad for the young manager... what an awful job.

Do not rent from Easirent.
April 7, 2021

Cheap is not always the best! Make sure you have your insurance policy declaration page or they sock you for insurance you dont get back! It says that no where on any of the the agreement contracts. I rented a car from them on a 4 day vacation to visit my mother in Daytona. They gave me the car with a sensor light on for a tire but said they drove it and there was no issues. 30 minutes in my drive I had to pull over to air in the left rear tire, and than another time when I arrived to my destination. Over night it went half flat so I drove block down the road to fill it again frustrated this is my first day of vacation I called their car emergency number at 9:30Am I left a voicemail, no response until 2:30pm that same day they agreed to pay for the repair or I could drive round trip 2 hours to get a replacement, I chosen the option to take it to a garage and repair it. I was told to pay it out of my pocket and I would be reimbursed when I returned the car I paid cash to avoid cc interest fees. The garage fixed the back flat tire and the sensor light was still on they pulled the car in for all remainder 3 inspection to find the front right tire had a nail in it and also was bald in the inside wall they said from being in a accident and alignment issues, they told me that would have to repaired as well also approved by the manager at easirent. The front car bumper was hanging on by a peice of duck tape and was wrecked i had taken a picture so I was not blamed for that upon returning the car because that was not pointed out to me when I picked it up.The garage by this time was booked had to keep the car till saturday, Uber to the rescue. The gas tank was not full the car was completely dirty, was not cleaned from previous user. I was forced to purchase LDW insurance when my insurance said I had everything thru my policy. I Was also pressured to buy sun pass for 4 days when I said I didn't want it. Needless to say when I returned my car I did not receive the money for the tires or any of the money I was told I would be getting back for the inconvenience of 2 days without a rental car. I called 3 weeks ago for an update was told its being processed, Monday marks 5 weeks the car was returned and no $back. Beware they are off premises of the airport. Go with a company you know! Will never deal with them or rentalcars.com.

We arrived at airport to wait on a shuttle bus over an hour which never came. Tried to call # provided could not get a hold of representative just a recorded message that "shuttle runs Q15 min". Multiple other families around us just as upset as us. We finally took a taxi to the rental company. There was one representative working in a beat down small building, arguing with other customers making false claims that his "buddy" has been driving non stop, but "you people are too busy looking at your phones to notice the shuttle", seriously? While we were all checking the "buddy" that was supposedly driving the shuttle back and forth was sitting in some car. The line was extremely long, about 10 customers in front of us. As each customer went in front of us, wait time was prolonged because every single person had an issue with this representative. This rep was so unprofessional and rude. I scheduled car pick up time at 6 pm, it was nearing 8:30 and I had a meeting to attend at 9 pm, so I took Uber and came early morning following day to pick up vehicle. Was told by another rude representative that they don't have a car for me. I requested refund, was told to get it through my supplier rentalcars.com. I started a case and this is the response I received from the supplier:

Unfortunately, we must advise you that we cannot offer a refund for this reservation as there are cancellation fees on this booking and supplier have already charged us and are not willing to refund anything as per terms. As we are the brokers and we do have to follow the supplier terms.
When you placed your reservation on our website you accepted the terms and conditions of the prepaid voucher that you purchased. These terms state the following:
"The car hire company reserves the right to refuse the car to any customer who fails to arrive on time with all necessary documentation and a credit card with enough available funds for the car's deposit. In such a case, unless the rental has been cancelled in advance, the customer will not be entitled to a refund."

WTF?! It was Easirent that didn't have the car for us! Not the other way around where we weren't there on time or didn't provide proper documents!

Total scam!
Stay away from this place, I've used multiple rental companies and it's pitiful that this company is still running after so many unsatisfied customers.

Do not use
August 2, 2020

Do not use this company under no uncertain terms despite their low pricing.

I booked hire car via booking.com for a collection today, Saturday 1st August, from the Aberdeen Airport based at the Marriot Courtyard Hotel, for 3 days.

Money was deducted from my account of £59.43( covers booking in full).

I ‘checked in online' providing all details on Thursday and called the Easirent branch direct on Friday evening to confirm the booking.

I arrived to collect the car today at 1015. I had a long wait as there was a queue which was not helped by the easicar representative trying to sell additional easicar insurance products to customers which they obviously did not need. When I did get to desk, I was informed no car was available as the car earmarked had a fault. I was offered a very large Transporter van as only alternative(we were on a family holiday so this was not an option). There was little by way of apology. I was even offered a run in the car to hear fault for myself. I was informed that Easicar were looking after my safety. I would categorically state that providing a safe vehicle should not be even a discussion point and they were certainly not doing me a favour by not giving me an unsafe car.

I set out my expectation, I had a confirmed and paid booking and that Easirent was a contractual obligation to provide a vehicle but there was no movement whatsoever from the branch manager and it was obvious the stance was ‘No vehicle, go away please'. There was no assistance at all, no alternative offered and no advice.

I asked why I couldn't be called earlier in morning to tell me there was no vehicle( I waited and sat on a bus for over an hour to collect the car). I was told that you'shouldn't have booked via a 3rd party' and 'this is beyond my control'. I had actually checked in online to Easirent portal and provided all details to Easirent including phone numbers. Surely hire car companies anticipate faults and have backup.

I asked if easicar would arrange a vehicle with another company to meet their obligations. 'I cannot do that' was response.

There was nothing offered from easicar whatsoever.

I was dismayed at this point and stranded at an airport hotel with no vehicle and plans in disarray. We had tickets booked for Edinburgh Zoo at 1300 on Saturday and then a booking at a Chester zoo Hotel.

At this short notice there was little car hire availability and hire costs were much increased. I was able to hire a car and got keys at 1230. However, our plans were now in disarray with money lost on bookings made.

I cannot begin to express my disappointment, frustration and disgust with easicar. A Hire Car company must expect car faults or non-returns. There must be a backup option and there must be an alternative option or advice to help individuals. It cannot be a ‘tough, you booked via a 3rd party'.

For information, I attempted to call Easicar and Booking.com customer service numerous time today but to no avail and failed to get through to any person to discuss matter.

I still do not have a refund nor had any communication with easicar or booking.com.

Squalid service and thuggery to boot
May 19, 2020

Booked via Easirent website "chat," paying a deposit of 349.11 pounds. The only documentation of the booking I received from Easirent was an e-mail titled, curiously, "Vehicle rental reservation changes to booking number XXXXXX" (VRRCBNX). This contained no address for Easirent. It did contain a list of bus services and bus stops at Heathrow, but these were not easy to find after travelling for about 20 hours from Taiwan. It also mentioned a free bus service, but stated, "It is important to show the bus driver your rental voucher which has the start date clearly printed as well as our company logo." The VRRCBNX contained no company logo. We took a taxi, costing almost 20 pounds, and consulted Google for the Easirent address. We and our taxi driver struggled to find Easirent.

When we finally arrived, no member of Easirent staff greeted us at the entrance or told us where to go to transact business. There was no signage visible to supply such information. I was shown by another exasperated customer into the office in which bookings were being processed.

I saw two men standing behind two counters, one at either end of the room. I made eye contact with each of them and presumed that one or other of them would understand I needed assistance; the procedure remained unclear and, once again, there was no signage visible to make it clear. I was left standing for several minutes. Neither of the two men bothered to say anything to me.

After several minutes, I felt that I had no choice but to approach one of the counters and present the document "Vehicle rental reservation changes to booking number XXXXXX." I duly did so, saying to the employee, 'There is no address on this.' He screamed at me, 'This is not a booking voucher.'

As this first employee screamed at me, he also signalled to his colleague at the other end of the room, who started asking me questions about my booking from his end of the room and in an offensive and sarcastic tone.

When this second employee (a white, native English-speaking caucasian, like myself) had finished asking me questions, he approached me and said to me, 'Now you're just being racist.' I said to him, 'What do you mean? I haven't said anything to you at all, let alone anything racist.' He responded, 'I know, but I'm South African.' I was appalled by what he had said and by the possible implications, and therefore made a point of informing those around us in the room of his remarks, whereupon one of his colleagues said, 'He's not South African; he's Australian.'

I made the point that I simply wished to collect my car and leave. The second employee shouted, "Don't give this man a car." I responded, "If you're not going to give me a car, I require a written statement from you that my deposit will be refunded." He said, "Do not give this man a car. Do not refund his deposit." He gave no reason. Weeks later, though without my being notified, my deposit was in fact refunded.

Two days after my return to Taiwan, about a month after the incident, I filed a demand, via the complaints procedure on Easirent's website, for reimbursement of my deposit and of various losses consequential on Easirent's cancellation of my booking. Easirent did not respond, and, in accordance with their procedure, I filed the demand again. Again they did not respond.

Again in accordance with the formal complaints procedure, I therefore "escalated" my grievance to the industry governing body, the BVRLA, who responded, "We understand that when you arrived at the branch discussions took place which then resulted in you not receiving the vehicle you had pre-booked, we hope you can appreciate we are unable to comment on these conversations. However, Easirent have advised that you were refunded your pre-paid amount of £349.11 in full."

I was not accused of anything, either by Easirent or the BVRLA.

Thieves
March 28, 2020

To whom it may concern,
This is the complaint letter I sent to those whom I thought could help my wife and I solve an issue that we found to be
Very troubling. It involved an employee at the Jacksonville Easienrt, specifically the manager named Franky.
Priceline Booking Number 202-281-644-38
Easirent Reference Number *******

Easirent Wally Park, Jacksonville, FL airport
We went to pick-up our rental on February 15th, 2020 and had all the information we were told to bring (credit card, drivers license). The young man, Franky waiting on us, informed us we needed proof of our auto insurance which we did not bring because we were not asked to bring it. When we challenged that he informed us that local rules can require them to ask for proof of insurance. We have Erie Insurance and at this time on a Saturday they are closed and not open on Sunday. The manager, Franky, said we couldn't have the car without proof of insurance. We told him we would call and give them that information on Monday and he said ok. Then he blindsided us about the in-kind coverage on our credit card which we thought we had but would check with Bank America, his response made us feel threatened and also taken advantage of. Again, none of this was mentioned on any of the documents. It was hard to understand Franky at times which only made the situation worse so my wife took over. Once again, we were told we couldn't take the car without the proof of insurance, which also was never mentioned on the paperwork. My wife explained we would call them on Monday with the information so the charges that we paid extra for, would be taken off once that information was given Franky and that would be ok. We signed off and waited for the car, which was not what we asked for. It looked like the worst one on the lot and the windows were very dirty and very hard to see out of the windows because of the stickers on the side window.
On Monday, as promised., we called Erie to get the information for our insurance and also Visa to make sure we had the in-kind benefit. Both of these services were to be taken off our bill once the information was suppled. Called *******121 on Monday the 17th twice, once busy and 2nd time hung up on after we told them we were calling with the information they needed. Called again Tuesday the 18th and kept getting busy signals.
Not only was this a terrible experience initially, but customer service once they knew why we called, decided to hang up and not answer the phone after they saw the number. Thankfully, the return went smoothly and very glad the person who waited on us was helpful. The rep at the desk upon return, Dasha, informed us that all she has to do is ask for proof, if not available then it would have been accepted, that being two adults in there 70's would have insurance.

Stay away from them
February 8, 2020

The worst experience of my life. I wasted an entire day dealing with these a***s.
I made sure to buy the most expensive insurance due to the fact that this is the first time I drive on the other side. 20 mins away fry from the rental office (Judd Street), I popped a tire (11AM). I reached out to the emergency number they gave me and I was informed that I was not covered by insurance (seriously!). I tried calling Easyrent, and they were not responding. I called the broker, and they told me to call the cops to get the car since it was illegally parked. I called the cops, and they told me that they are not responsible for towing cars. After 2 hours of trying to get hold of someone, I decided to abandon the car and take the train back to the office. When I got there (3PM), the office was closed. I was knocking at the door, ringing the bell, calling their phone, and no response. Another customer showed up to return the car, but he could not. He told me that they are only after customer credit cards. He had been charged for "damaging" the car in the past and he wanted to confirm with them that it was not damaged this time. An hour later, we headed to the hotel where they park their cars. The guy there called the person in charge and then they sent another guy to go get the broken car. The only thing they worried about is getting a ticket for being illegally parked. They did not worry about me wasting time, nor my wife who checked out from the hotel and had no money to buy herself food. On the way to the car, their driver told me to never rent from this company. According to him, the only thing this company worries about is collecting money. They never maintain their cars (both cars I got had the engine light on), and they several times while being rented. After speaking to the manager over the phone, they decided to give me another car which I picked up around 7PM. I wasted an entire day trying to solve a problem that could have been solved in a few minutes if this company was reliable and professional. When I asked them for a refund, they denied my request and got very rude and aggressive at the office. Because if this issue, my entire trip to England was down and decided to never go back to England.
Bottom line: make yourself a favour and stay away from them.

EASIRENT and RENTALCARS.COM - TWO CROOKS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST
November 7, 2019

Booked a car rental online from Easirent Fort Lauderdale, Florida, through Rentalcars.com of the UK for one day, November 2-3,2019, for a Nissan Altima or equivalent for CAN$49.55.

Easirent advertises that they have a shuttle pick at Port Everglades cruise port for its clients. Rentalcars.com confirmed this when I called them by telephone. When I got to Port Everglades cruise port on November 2nd, after a short night's sleep on the cruise ship, I called Easirent for the shuttle ride, but was promptly informed that Easirent was not allowed to go to Port Everglades and I would have to find alternate transportation to their office to pick up the rental. Cost of taxi = US$20.

At the time of booking, Easirent advertised its address as 321, Southwest 24th Street, Fort Lauderdale (FLL), USA - Florida, *******. I asked the taxi driver to take us there, but he said they were at the Fort Lauderdale Airport and took us there instead. I did not argue thinking that the taxi driver knew better, and in any case, Easirent also supposedly had a shuttle pick up at Fort Lauderdale Airport. Easirent was NOT at the Fort Lauderdale airport, along with all the other car rental agencies, but their shuttle did arrive and eventually picked us up and took us to their office.

At the rental counter I was informed that I would have to pay for insurance and I advised the agent that I had collision waver insurance, but the agent wanted me to pay for liability insurance, which I had never done before with any other rental company as this is typically carried by them. Additional cost for them padding their rental rate CAN$25.27.

I was not issued any rental contract or provided any business card, merely asked to take a cell phone photo of the notepad on which the agent indicated all the damages on the vehicle that they ended up providing - a badly damaged Toyota minivan with a four banger engine and filth all over the inside. For that, we had to wait about half an hour while they washed the outside of the van!

We then entered the address of our hotel in our portable GPS and drove to the hotel. It was then that I realized I needed to figure out how to return the van prior to our morning Fort Lauderdale-Toronto flight the following day. Putting the address into Google, it became apparent to us that the path to return the van was different from the path we vaguely remembered taking to get to the hotel! So we tried to call Easirent for directions to find them, but no one answered after numerous tries! I called Rentalcars.com and was able to reach them but they were of no help! So our plans to do some shopping and go to the beach in Fort Lauderdale were put on hold until we figured out this mess. We decided to drive to the address we had been given at the time of booking, which was an abandoned building! We drove to a gas station down the street and asked the attendant there if he knew the address for Easirent. Fortunately he did, and wrote that on a piece of paper as 3234, South East 6th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. We entered that into our GPS and went to Easirent, several blocks away! Having wasted most of the day doing all this, I gave the agent there a piece of my mind. At least now we knew where to return the filthy van, but our day had been wasted - no shopping or beach for us - the reason we had stayed in Fort Lauderdale for a day after the cruise.

Once home, I filed a complaint with Rentalcars.com asking for a full refund of the payment I had made to them as a small consolation for the extra costs and nightmare we had been put through. They refused.

LESSON LEARNED - Unless you want to waste your time and money dealing with complete incompetents and crooks, avoid both Easirent and Rentalcars.com at all cost.

Avoid these scammers.
November 5, 2019

From reading other reviews of Easirent I recognise that I am not alone in being a victim of these scammers.

I needed to hire a car for a visit to Dublin between Sunday 20 October and Wednesday 23rd October 2019. I was attracted to Easirent by their reasonable prices: they had two offers, one that appeared to cover all damages. However, when I arrived with my family at their offices near Dublin Airport I was told that unless I paid for extra cover I would be liable for any damages that may occur. I did think about taking a chance but the representative outlined the amount I would be expected to pay for just a minor problem. Reluctantly, I paid £142 on top of the hire price £48 (for 3 days) but with the assurance I would not be charged for any damage should I be unlucky and be involved in an accident.

I was also unhappy that the VW Passat that I had booked was not available nor an equivalent car. Again I reluctantly accepted a 7-seater. When checking the car the young lady who had taken my booking emphasised how as the car was almost brand new there were unlike to be any damage on the car.

When I returned the car on Wednesday the same young lady came out to check the car. With amazing speed and a lack of subtlety she immediately noted scruff marks on the mirror on the passenger door. I remonstrated as I knew I was not responsible for these marks. The car had been parked in a spaces private car park and we had only driven the car once on a medium journey outside Dublin. She reassured me that as I had paid the extra insurance I would not be charged for any damage. All she required was my signature on an internal form. Once I signed she added casually that I would be charged 70 euros for admin charges'. When I asked for an explanation she said the new damage' would have to be put on the system and this would cost 70 euros. I replied that I was being charge for damage' that I was not responsible for. Her reply was to wave the form I had just signed. My querying of being charged 70 euros for damages were met with her replying ad nauseam that I was not being charged for damage but for administrative charges.

From reading other customers' experience of Easirent Car Hire I realise that I am not the first to be the victim of this outrageous scam.

I have sent an email asking for my 70 euros back. Nor have I received as yet a receipt for this admin charge'.

Note that if you check Easirent's website you will find customer reviews. But every time a negative comment is posted two or three positive reviews appear. Yet on other sites reviewing Easirent very few if any positive reviews appear. Strange.
