I bought a Gerber Down range automatic knife from theses guys, they charged me 10.00 for shipping. When I got the knife it came in an optics planet box. Optics planet ships for free, so Dvor stole my 10.00. It also took 2 weeks to get my knife, that does not even open automatically. I will NEVER buy from Dvor again, they are a rip off.
If they make an error it's a nightmare. It's been a month since they mis-shipped me and now they start the 10day review to admit their error and refund me. Horrible inefficient customer relations. When I send in yet another email that included my order number I was invited by a rep to begin the claim process again. Not worth the risk for little benefit.
I've ordered rifle scopes from DVOR on two different occasions. For my first purchase the website stated that the scope included a hard case, however only the scope arrived. I contacted DVOR and they gave me a very fair credit for the case because they realized they had neglected to update their website since the scope manufacturer no longer included a case. Shortly later, I contacted them to ask about ordering an identical scope. While it was no longer on sale, they honored the discounted price less the value of the case, a savings of well over $100. Their service was good, their price was excellent, particularly in comparison to other companies.
Placed Order #******* a year ago on Nov 26,2022. For a spyderco folding knife. Was told then that they had it in stock, and that it would be shipped to me in "1-3 weeks." A little present to myself, I'd get it by Christmas.
That didn't happen. Instead, I've gotten randomly timed emails from them ever since, updating the estimated shipping date. Today's email says, "New Estimated Ship Date: Wednesday, Nov 29,2023" That's 52 weeks. Aka 1 year. That's unreasonable.
I've tried both the contact form and the 800 number that are in the Dvor website's "get help" tab. Got no response from either.
AND... Prior to this knife, I've ordered other things from Dvor that took unreasonably long times to get. Things they said they had when I ordered them, (or I wouldn't have ordered them) but they ended up taking five or six months to get them to me. Saved a couple bucks, but didn't get to shoot what I wanted when I wanted to because I was "waiting on parts." That's a problem.
My easy solution is not to buy anything from Dvor anymore. And I advise everyone else not to use them either. Especially if you want something within a reasonable amount of time. Like for a build, or a competition, or an occasion, or a gift. You can't say I didn't warn you.
A lot of times, when they say say they have stuff in stock, they are lying. They accept an order, and then it will perpetually remain in a state of "processing". When I log in to check when I can expect delivery they show "Expected to be shipped on" followed by a near future date. When I check back in closer to the date showed, they show a farther off date. Over and over. Today, 4/9, they show one item I ordered on11/26 with the "expected to be shipped" date of 4/12. That's 135 days since the order and they're still "processing". Its the same with a different order I placed on 02/26 - today it says "expected to be shipped" 4/22. The "expected" dates have been pushed farther and farther out every time I've looked.
And they don't respond to their "contact customer service" link. Its gone this way before with other orders that I've just ended up cancelling and getting what I wanted from other sources. I will no longer be using Dvor for anything. They are too unreliable.
They are rude, arrogant snippy people. No people skills and don't go out of their way to help people get what they call for. Jerky jerky people, I refuse to do business with them.
I have been ordering from DVOR for a couple of years without many issues other than long ship times. This last order was shipped and when I went to their website to check status, I noticed the item was $21 cheaper. I did a online chat with C/S and they told me that they couldn't refund me the money because of an agreement with the manufacture on sale items. I would have to receive the item, return the item for credit then order the item again with the new price. I told them they would lose money on the deal doing it that way but they said that was the only to do it. I was not worth the hassle. I told him to cancel my order along with my back ordered item and to also remove my name from their mailing list and he couldn't type back fast enough saying OK. Great customer service.
EDIT: Spoke to C/S supervisor and told him the problem and he couldn't understand why the online c/s rep wouldn't accommodate my request. He gladly refunded me the difference and said he would speak with the c/s rep.
Hello Chuck B! Let me be the first to say that I am truly sorry for your experience with DVOR. Our goal is to achieve complete customer satisfaction, however it is very clear by your post that we missed the mark greatly when it came to serving you. For that I am deeply sorry.
I would love to try and make things right with you and your order. If you would be willing to send your information (name, order #) to marketing@opticsplanet.com, I will personally move mountains to try and remedy the situation. It won't make up for the poor service received thus far, but hopefully we can at least show you that we really do care about all our customers.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks!
