Doublelist is one of those sites that's growing but I can't stop from using.
The good:
Doublelist is just like Craigslist. You can post what you want, when you want, and how you want it. That's a unique feature that I don't see any other dating / hookup site offering. I like that functionality better than the swipe right / swipe left. I also like that they're relatively spam free and pretty good with moderation.
The bad: They don't have all locations. I live outside of Chicago and they don't have my city listed. I have to post in Chicago which is 80 miles away. The other thing is that the moderators sometimes don't approve my post which can be frustrating and annoying. There also seems to be more men than women which I kind of expected but I still

The service, in and of itself, is good. Posts go up relatively quickly, and there are usually a lot of posts to look through. Patience is required however because of the users. So many are a bit flaky. They agree to meet, and then you get ghosted. Seems like a, good deal of the folks on. They are just looking for pictures. It's a shame they don't use the other places where that's the primary service. The times I have met with someone from here have been a lot of fun. So, I will continue to use double list, But I'll continue to do so with patience.

I'm actually surprised at the amount of users and the quality of the ads on there. They're a little strict about their language and images but maybe that's what making the site attracted higher quality users. So far I've met 3 people and I get a decent amount of engagement. I started a log, in January 2022, to record every time I respond to an ad. I've responded to around 300 ads since then. Out of the 300, I received a reply for maybe 25; call it 30 for math purposes. So, 10% of the time I receive a message, and 90% of the time I get nothing. Out of the 30 replies that I've received, at least 20 of them were not legit, and were scammers or hackers, or data collectors, or whatever. Often, there's a response with an untraceable email address, and the follow-on messages are from a different email address. And they try to lure you to a verification website. Anyhow, in more than 18 months of time, and 300 ads that I sent to, less than 10 were legit, with 3 encounters and 4 last minute cancels. That's a lot of work for such little reward. ~97% BS, and ~3% Legit in my unscientific analysis.
P.S. I'm not just some freak show creep either. I'm a decent looking guy, with desired features, and I can write and hold a convo, etc. Pretty normal overall.
In app messages get missed when you're using a lap top. Messages should go to BOTH in app message and email. Or only email. Seems like they are trying to force us to pay for this site by blurring images. Seems like use of this app has diminished quite a bit. Someone needs to create a new free hook up app.
