Detect History

I learned about metal detecting recently, and immediately wanted to buy a metal detector to find some cool stuff. I knew nothing about detectors, how to choose them, etc., so I simply went online and googled an "affordable" (in reality it was outright cheap) metal detector that would do. In my opinion, a total newbie like me should have been okay with a Chinese machine, and obviously, after several unproductive and meaningless sessions, this cheap crap just stopped working altogether. So, I decided I probably did something wrong, and went online again to look not for metal detectors, but for comprehensive reviews, and I found Detect History site, and it was a godsend. I have stumbled across dozens of detailed, really objective and explanatory reviews, plus comparison charts, ratings, and tons of useful blog posts and guides. Honestly, I spent several evenings just learning the basic, reading blog posts, and exploring the guidelines on metal detecting, on choosing the right machine, on planning the detecting, and so on. Eventually, I managed to choose another machine - it happened to be one by Garrett - and now I'm the happiest detectorist in my town. Detect History made my day, really. Oh, and by the way - regardless of whether you like Detect History or not, regardless of where you live and detect - never, never ever buy cheap crap. Happy hunt everybody!
