Bro this is trash. In my 7th grade year I was stressed out because the problems were hard. Their explanation makes no sense even in the video I still don't get it. I hate the part where you get the question wrong it decreased your score. Right now I'm at "Exponent Review" and I'm really stressed out. There's this thing going on in my class and if I don't get this Delta math thing done, I'll have to be in a work room. Even if I finish it the teacher's won't let me join back to my group > :( I wish Delta math doesn't ever exist. I wish they went out of business.
This has to be the worst website in history. I have failed a whole semester of a class becuse of this website I tried my best to get it done but after working on it for 5 hours straight i had a mental breakdown and said oh well hoping it would be the last year of it but no stuck in the same boat as last year.
Delta math genuinely makes me suicidal. I've sobbed and had anxiety attacks because of it. I genuinely don't understand how it's helpful, it just makes students want to cheat to get to the answer, and doesn't focus on the process of getting the answer. It's terrible for students. If you're a teacher reading this, don't make your students want to kill themselves, don't assign deltamath. -a student
No one likes this program. If I could I would give it zero stars because I don't even think it deserves one. It's insanely tedious where you need to get 5 correct each thing, but the problem is you got to get them in a row, so you could end up spending like 30 minutes on this one thing, and especially if you have a terrible math teacher like me who decided to not actually teach the thing and just assign a DeltaMath.
Over the years delta math has inflicted extreme stress and depression on students. Deltamath has caused thousands of students to despise math and become depressed. This disguised torture device is not fit for use in schools.
It doesn't help me with my arithmetic, and the questions are stupid and difficult to grasp; I believe it would be better if you could come up with an alternative technique to make math more accessible.
Deltamath is not the most user friendly website out there. If you answer incorrectly or correctly answer in a way that deltamath doesn't want you to answer (without notifying you!), it will count you as incorrect and take off a point from your assignment. As much as this website is not user friendly, deltamath doesn't load 30% of the time I open it! Also, Deltamath will work you as incorrect for an answer that you actually got right. If this website was more hands-on, then it would very likely receive better reviews and would be deemed more helpful to math education.
This website sucks especially when your teacher assigns 31 of em due in a week with 5 questions each. For it not to load and count correct answers as incorrect. Its just straight useless and doesn't help you learn. Teachers use this because teachers now-day don't like to teach you and just assign busy work and sit and watch tik toks and there phone. Teachers please dont use this and just teach your kids. This is why our generation is gonna end up homeless.
The explaining sucks. Im not sure if they do 3 letter explanation sentences just to look aesthetic, or if they want to keep it practical but either way its really annoying. And honestly when teacher assign homework the last thing i want to hear is a video but because i dont understand one question. Just write it because its is going to clearly tell me what is i got wrong, if i were to watch a video or look at an example i'd just be re-learning the topic and wasting my time. That is the only frustration i personally have but it really $#*!ing annoys me and makes me want to skip the homework.
If you're a teacher who uses delta math all that does is reflect on you as a person and how lazy you are but also how little you care about your students. My teachers pile up my work on delta math for homework. There can be infinite problems if I don't understand it. For them it is just a click of a button and everything is graded for them. For me its endless struggles. See how unfair this is?
This website model is "depth, clarity, and rigor" but the entire thing ultimately betrays the model. It expects perfection every time, doesn't have hints, and doesn't give you an example until you get the problem wrong. Also, just getting help videos for students costs 100$! That is way too expensive for something every educational website should have.
DeltaMath has given me nothing but stress all class long. They should really make the app more hands-on, or something that gives us a better explanation on how to do a problem. Sadly, where I'm in school, I have to keep on using it, but after I'm out, then DeltaMath will not be a part of me anymore.
As a student this website never helped me with my math. I was never the best at math but I honestly think this website made me worse at it. One of the biggest problems is the point system. You have to get 100% correct on the assignment. If you get a question right you get a point, if you then get a question incorrect it takes that point away from you. So then you have to get two questions in a row correct to get that point back. This destroys any motivation that I had to do my homework and I would sometime just not be able to finish without ripping my hair out. This Is just overall a terrible website. Teachers please don't put your students under this torture and just you an alternative.
This website doesnt help with math at all it doesnt make things easier and everytime you do something right it still says that its wrong the site is bogus and honestly belongs in a dump far away in space
I hate this program. Wholeheartedly. I'm a 9th grade student and have been using this program for the school year. Thus far, I can say with conviction, I hate every part of it. The program changes the slightest things so the problems are inconsistent and not at all like an actual test or homework.
I try so hard every single time, and I get every problem area wrong AT LEAST 5 times before getting it right.
I have inattentive-type ADHD and Dysgraphia. This not only makes it hard to concentrate on this type of task, but makes it have no gratification when I get it wrong for the stupidest reasons. My dysgraphia can occasionally make it difficult to put words onto paper, but I also notice that I miss small details very easily when reading. I'm not sure if it's due to either of those conditions or just me as a person.
TL; DR
The program is bad for people with learning disabilities, is inconsistent and the layout is horrible.
I feel like delta math makes me want to cry. For example, I just started learning calculus, and you will have to fill in individual boxes with the right answers. This question I got basically has 36 questions in one. If you get a single box wrong, delta would tell you, "Oh, you are wrong, try again." It doesn't tell you where it is wrong, so I have to triple check ALL my work, and try again. AND LET ME TELL YOU this burns my brain cells. If you still get it wrong, delta would dock your points and you would have to do more questions. All my 8/I classmates tell me delta is a pain simulator. Please just use Khan, Which allows you to restart tests and only has 4-7 questions per lesson. Khan is a LOT or helpful, letting you ask for tips without docking points from the overall lesson.
My students have used Deltamath for over 10 years. A few years back the statistics class looked at data and found that students who completed at least 80% of their deltamath work (on time) rarely received less than a C overall in the class. On the other hand, students who didn't complete at least 40% of their deltamath assignments rarely scored higher than a D in the class.
Students leaving critical "reviews" of this program only serve to undermine the value of this site as a resource in evaluating educational technology programs. The moderators should do a better job weeding out these kinds of reviews.
I get problems where I have to type an exponent. In order to type special characters in delta math you have to click on the keyboard icon. Here's the thing that icon isn't always there. It seems to be very inconsistent.
This is the most un inspired, un fun, un interactive, and un helpful app i have ever used. I wish i could never use this app again and would gladly destroy its programming if possible. I dont like most math apps but at least they are sometimes kinda fun and interactive in compareison to this dumpster fire of a app. All this app does is make me hate math, when i used to love it more than any other class.
This is one of the worst math websites in history, almost comparable to ALEKS. The explanations are absolute $#*! because they don't go deep into the explanation and why that is the answer. Honestly, I would sue the owners of the math website if I had the chance to. Overall this app is just straight-up $#*!.
