Dear Readers,

My company has issues with that company:

1) Company behind the service looks defunct.

Closte.com claims to be operated by Closte, LLC. According to OpenCorporates as of 2020-6-2 the company claims to be in a defunct "inactive" state. According to the data from OpenCorporates they are defunct from an event happened on 2020-04-10. I already received a receipt that claims to be issued by that inactive company after it become inactive. I find that troublesome.

I am seriously questioning

2) Cannot provide legal invoices for EU entities.

I operate throw a company that is registered in the European Union. According the the law here, when you make a payment of any sort, the other side should provide you an invoice no longer than 5 days after that payment. The Closte.com operator claimed that I did pay a "deposit" on 2020-6-1 and will receive an invoice in the end of the month. That would violate the European Union's law because any form of payment should be accomplished by an invoice within 5 days of the payment according to our law here. Despite many of my requests to understand that, he refused to comply with the law. There are already EU-US trade agreements and if that business wants to operate in the European Union and serve persons and companies from the European Union, they should follow the law. If the cannot, they cannot legally offer their services here. Since the payment already happened and they already explained that they won't follow our law, that means they have violated it and for that they could be hold liable for that based on the already existing EU-US trade agreements.

3) The site is not GDPR compliant and because of that they cannot legally offer their services to entities from the European Union. In the support ticket they claimed that they are, but they are not. In order to offer your services to the European Union, this business should follow the law, on their site there is nothing of what the law requires them to have in order to be legally GDPR compatible and for that reason they cannot legally offer their services to the European Union.

In conclusion, if you are from the the European Union, you should not use that service in its current state.

I requested a refund and they claimed they would proceed with it, I'll wait for the legal 14 days period as based on the law, but giving the experience that I already have, I seriously questions wether they would comply with it.

Our company lawyer will be informing national, European, US federal and US state institutions with details about how we think they break the law.

Avoid!

Best Regards
