I recently purchased a very expensive and large 385 pound hideaway liquor and wine cabinet made by Howard Miller, from Clockway. It was supposed to be delivered in five days. It was not. It did show up five days later, unannounced until 10 minutes before the delivery. On the good side, and after a lot of phone calls and research, I have the whole story and I want to share this with folks who may have read some of the negative reviews like I did. Please read this. First of all Kevin in Customer Service at Clockway is fantastic. The broken link is not Kevin or Clockway. The broken link is in the logistics company responsible for shipping and their name is CEVA. With help from Kevin I now know the whole story. My first cabinet was damaged in shipping and Clockway immediately re-shipped a second cabinet. The logistics company failed to notify me of what was going on and that there was going to be a delay. That was the answer to why my tracking number disappeared and caused me much angst. Kevin was able to give me phone numbers and contacts to find out what happened and why I didnt get my cabinet on the day as promised. Now I know the item was responsibly re-shipped by Clockway when notified by the shipping company and delivered to me in a timely manner. CEVA just didnt keep me in the loop to what was happening. The cabinet is beautiful, and the delivery folks were absolutely fantastic with their white glove service. A light at the top of my cabinet did not work. I called Kevin at Clockway and in three days a brand new light fixture was delivered to my front door. I read a lot of reviews before I purchase things. There are a lot of negative comments on different sites about Clockway and about Kevin. Id be lying if I said I wasnt terribly disappointed at the end of my day five promised delivery. But working with Kevin was a true joy, and he absolutely made everything right. I am wonderfully pleased with my purchase and with Clockway, otherwise known as Gift Theory. The broken link is the whole process was the logistics company, CEVA, that they use to work through the shipping process. I have learned a lot in this process. The item is shipped from Clockway and a logistics company is sort of like a traffic cop. They hook your item up to a shipping company and they subcontract with a local delivery company to get your large item delivered to you. Please dont judge Kevin or Clockway by the negative comments. They do a fantastic job. The broken link and the whole process was the logistics company CEVA. If you have a gripe, aim it at the logistics company that failed to give me the information about my first cabinet being damaged and re-shipped. They left me in the dark about that whole process. Just be patient and Clockway will come through like a shining star. I am very very pleased with everything in the end. For a complicated purchase and delivery of a very large and heavy piece, I could not be happier. Please dont read the negativity and make your decision based on that. Kevin and Customer Service at Clockway are, in the end, even when everything goes wrong thats not their fault, a class act. They will make it all just perfect!
If you have issues kindly talk to Kevin at Clockway Customer Service. Be nice. He will give you a direct name and number for someone who can help. Shipping is a complicated process with a lot of pieces. Kevin is a rockstar!
UPDATED REVIEW: Received a call from Mike who appeared to be a manager. Mike was very professional and courteous. The issues I had was not that the product was discontinued but the lack of communication and length of time it took to get my order refunded as well as my inability to get a status update or talk to anyone. Mike apologized and explained that person I spoke to was a new employee and what happened shouldn't have happened. He made things right with me so I have changed it to a 4 star review. Of coarse the 4 stars are not for the service/product (I have not received the product for obvious reasons) but for the damage control that Mike has done.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am getting my oil changed, so while waiting decided to do a nice thing and tell people about this outfit that calls itself clockway. So impossible thing happened. I have found someone with customer service worse than Comcast! I ordered an almost $300 clock on Friday a couple of weeks ago. On Tuesday still no word of confirmation of shipping or order received. BUT money left the account. At this point i decide to email them asking for status of order. Automatic email comes that says i will get a response within 24 to 48 hours. First of all, holy crap! 48 hours just to get a simple status update! Impressive! Wednesday another email to these geniuses of customer service world, still nothing. It was a busy week at work so Thursday finally find time to call these clowns. Now, take a seat before you read next sentence. This epic pool of customer service hell is only open 4 hours during the day. Guess which 4 hours. Yup, 11 am to 3 pm CST. Pretty much the time when everyone is at work and unable to call them. So Friday, i tell my boss that i found someone who would win in a marathon of absence of customer service against Comcast and go on to call them. After short prompt that takes about 5 minutes to get to a person that sounds like she just woke up after a long night of doing anything but customer service I was finally speaking to a human being! She gets my order number and says something along the lines "i thought i emailed you a few days ago". No you didn't you beautiful soul. She continues to tell me that the item i order was discontinued. So here i am sitting 7 calendar days or 5 business days since i ordered waiting for my item that i pretty much needed the day when i called them. With her sleepy voice she tells me she will cancel my order as if this is a regular thing as brushing your teeth. The fact that i tried to contact them for a week did not matter. The fact that i lost a week just made her annoyed. Tells me that it will take 2-3 business days to get my refund. Now its business day number 5, still no refund. Hey guys, if you are reading this. Save your money, time, nerves. Go to amazon. Still wondering if i will get my money back. Hope you girl who i spoke to gets some sleep, you sounded to sleepy! I mean those 4 hour work days kill! Nice job on the fake reviews too, lol at least make them look like real customers left them.
