I have been with CityMax for several years now. And all because I like their service. They provide the right tools for the job and more. I did not think that my site would start making a profit so quickly. CityMax will do not only the practical part, but also the visual part at an excellent level. Recommend!

I have been a customer with a website for several years. My site is not reachable and have found it impossible to contact the company for tech support. There is no link or ability to submit a request on the City Max website.

I've had a website through them for over 8 years. I got a call yesterday saying the my site has been down for over two days. I tried about 20 different ways to contact them. But, it was a SATURDAY and outside of their customer support (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri) working hours. Something on my contact information with my account through them "changed" and I had to click a verification link. The problem: (1) the link they sent it to was something they created (not associated with my account), and (2) I changed nothing. I logged into my CityMax account and everything looked good... so, what did THEY do to create this trigger and furthermore, they did nothing to rectify the situation. Its been over 30 hours now... and my site is STILL not up. So, don't expect anything from them!

Our website has an email account attached to it through CityMax. I have been trying for two weeks to explain to them that the account was hacked, and I am not sending spam to China. The support staff are absolutely brutally stupid, obtuse, unhelpful, or incompetant, maybe all of these things. You cannot talk to a human being, and get one webmail response a day from them. Totally ridiculous. Run, run run away from this company.

Terrible service, terrible website builder, terrible price.

Oh and to make matters worse, they sell branded websites through "get rich quick" conventions. They also own a fake magazine website to boost their ratings. Many of the reviews you read online from this company are written by staff who work there. Stay away!

WORST website and email hosting experience imaginable. We are a Law Firm in Los Angeles, CA. CityMax was the first hosting company I used. Due to my lack of prior expectations we spent 5 years with this company. We simply were not used to anything else to benchmark it against its performance. Come to find out - it took 6-10 minutes to deliver emails. And we thought that was normal. All email and website issues are dealt with through their slow responding "trouble tickets" which must be submitted in a specific way. It doesnt matter WHAT the emergency is. Your only choice is to "wait". They simply refuse to accept ALL phone calls. We are in Law. So we are worlds apart from computers. We thought his was normal for a hosting company.

One day, out of nowhere, and without any prior notice they cut off our ALL our emails. We had to submit trouble tickets. They come back telling us we are cut off because we had reached our quota. Quota? What? We deal with serious time sensitive legal issues. Legal documentation is constantly sent via email back and forth! They essentially SHUT DOWN OUR OFFICE without warning! The repercussions for what they did were enormous putting our clients, our reputation and entire business in jeopardy! Then they told us they would not allow any more emails until we waited about a week for the quota average to go down. I voraciously called to put pressure on them to explain and they refused telling me to open a ticket and wait until tomorrow and to make sure not to send any emails from your office for the next few days.

We had to switch to Go Daddy on the fly. Again - I dont know anything about computers. During this ordeal I had screaming clients calling demanding responses to issues I didnt even know about waiting to know why I had not answered since the day before. They kept all these emails in a quota file and would not release them to us. This violates several U.S. laws.

I wanted to sue. However further investigation revealed they are located in CANADA and have NO AGENT IN THE UNITED STATES FOR SERVICE OF PROCESS AS REQUIRED BY US LAW. We have filed a complaint with the US ITC. As they are required to be registered in the US and pay taxes from their income derived in the USA. We planned to file in the US court however at that point we would have to collect the judgment by filing again in Canada court and hiring a Canadian attorney. In short the cost of litigation was beyond the point of even breaking even.

Since switching to Go Daddy our website and email services have been amazing. Emails are INSTANTANOUS. Within 1-2 seconds they are received. Compare this to 5-10 minutes with CityMax. Go Daddys service is phenomenal in comparison. No trouble tickets. You call they answer problem solved. Email quotas (if any occur) are raised with a phone call so the Citymax situation cannot happen again. You receive notices when youre near your limit. Its 1000x better than CityMax.

I would urge ANY startup or business owner to stay away from Citymax.com at all costs. Citymax is behind the times with inferior service located in a foreign country outside of US law which in practicality protects them from being held liable to their customers in the US. Please take my advice and STAY AWAY CITYMAX.

You can look at these reviews and see ALL POSTIVE reviews were written by this company. Note how they come in strings and are all full stars. Look at the dates and the grammar structures. This is the same company trying to over write real reviews from former customers.

I was regretfully with this company many, many years. In the end I was just a number and because I did not experience a true 21st century hosting service - I simply did not know to expect any better. My only regret was not knowing anything about computers and leaving them sooner. Citymax shut down our business causing a panic situation resulting in ill will from clients; putting us in a professionally liable position due to their grossly negligent unprofessional disorganized disgusting actions.

PLEASE make sure what happened to use doesnt happen to you. STAY AWAY FROM CITYMAX.COM! Especially if you're located in the United States!

Agreed. Often the site is virtually inaccessible. Either they are under a service denial attack or otherwise just overwhelmed. Pity. Could be a real service.
