‘Bought' an e-gift card that was never sent. Took my money and deleted emails. But I took screen grabs.
Like many other consumers, I purchased a gift card through Roblox, which uses CashStar as a 3rd party vendor. I haven't received the gift card, and the customer support phone number in the email confirmation is bogu *******818). I purchased it through PayPal and I have launched a claim against the company.
I ordered 2 Ulta gift cards on 12-3-21. Never received a confirmation but they made sure to charge my credit card. When I called on 12-7-21 to inquire about not receiving confirmation of purchase email. It literally took over an hour to speak to an actual agent after being transferred multiple times. I received the email and I called 12/14/21 to inquire as to why my purchase indicates it still in process when they had no problem processing my payment in a timely fashion. This company would rather tell me to cancel my purchase and go to the store to purchase my gift cards because of Covid things are behind. We have been dealing with Covid over a year now and this is still the cop out. This company is a damn joke and I will never and I mean never deal with this company again. I caution every one purchasing gift cards to make sure this company is NOT the one sending your purchase.
IKEA offered a CyberMonday gift card bonus deal. I bought $3000-worth through a service site called CashStar. I clicked a second time as instructed and something felt wrong. I called American Express which said CashStar had "pended" two $3000 sales and only they could change it. I had a frantic week until the pending purchase expired and the money was returned to my account. IKEA pled ignorance. No one at CashStar would help. They said there was no record of a sale, but they had charged my AmEx so there was an obvious sale. I sent everyone screen shots of everything. Horrible lesson learned. Run like the wind!
I received a $200 e gift card for QVC and never received a notification! Finally after two attempts to put it on my account I called QVC and couldn't t find anyone to take the number and was cut off twice. Then the third time the worker said the account showed a $0 balance. She said a team would look into and for me to call back in five days!? Demanded they call me. Will NEVER deal with CashStar again. They don't deliver gift cards on time and they hide. You cannot call, you cannot get a person on chat or email. They just hide behind an auto email that says call the (800) number and this matter is closed. The (800) number is not helpful in the least and you cannot talk to anyone or resolve anything on line. I ordered thousands of dollars of gift cards that were charged and never delivered. RUN FROM CASHSTAR!

I used Cashstar for Ulta gift cards twice before and they came via email promptly. So I was surprised when I continued to refresh my cart at Ulta for an hour and a half waiting for the egiftcard. Ulta is offering a $20 ereward with $100 giftcards. That was ny motivation for ordering a $100 gift card for myself. See below, another hour later and my order is still "in process." Cashstar says, 'Oops, sorry, our system is down. We don't know when it will be up. We can process your refund after we take 48 hours for coffee breaks & lunches. Oops, sorry, we understand how you feel.' I told them not to start the refund as I wanted to contact PayPal for a dispute. Even though my transaction is still "pending," PayPal bot says I can't dispute 'This kind of transaction. Customer service will contact you in a few hours.' Gosh, Cashstar really feels bad about us. As they earn interest on our hijacked funds. My item sold out. My entire shopping schedule is spoiled. This company needs the state AGs to take action. Horrible customer service too. I spoke with two agents. They really don't care, utterly bored repeating their scripts. I hold little hope that my two prior erewards will be redeemable.
I placed 2 $100 gift card purchases through Ulta which uses them as a vendor. They double charged me so in total took $300 and never distributed my gift cards. They say their sites are down for maintenance on Cyber Monday which is the worst possible day to have maintenance if this is legitimate. They don't respond to the online customer service and the phone line says they're down then hangs up.
I've tried to work through Ulta customer service but as this is an outside vendor, I will have to mark this as a fraudulent charge on my credit card as I did not receive the service I paid for & was double charged. They are either the worst run company or a total scam but I will never be buying a gift card from a company that uses CashStar as their gift card vendor!
Card balance of $200 was redeemed fraudulently. CashStar blamed it on the merchant (Athleta), Athleta blamed it on CashStar. No one would take responsibility and I was out the $200 gift plus payroll taxes I paid.
Received gift card codes from OneBlood for blood donations and took many attempts to get the site to process the request.
Gave blood a few times this year and trying to use the 20 dollar gift cards I received to get something at Dunkin. I keep getting the error of 502 bad gateway. Not only on my phone but my laptop. WTF.
Very dissatisfied with CashStar service. In fact there is not a rating low enough for this company customer service. We made numerous calls regarding attempting to track down our order without success. They missed our delivery date and than expedited our order. They screwed up informed us they would expedite our order. Well a week late it still had not been processed let alone shipped! Mean while they had our money in their bank account. We attempted to cancel the order and get our money returned. Well that did not happen either as we continue to fight for our money or service. In addition, we paid extra money up front to guarantee the order and shipping. Attempted to talk with a supervisor and we were refused, none available. If you strive for mediocrity or do not care about your customers CashStar will take your money. It is a shame Giant Eagle farmed this service out to a company who cannot service their customers!

Placed an order for gift card and never received any information about the order. When I contacted Cash Star they told me no such order existed. Even after I sent them proof of payment that they took from my checking they refused to refund me. They told me to contact my bank. Terrible customer service! No apology or acceptance of blame.
I ordered a $100 gift card for my mother. She received the gift card and it did not work. After 7+ phone calls and HOURS on the phone, this issue has not been resolved. Cash Star insisted they could not help and referred me to QVC. QVC insisted they could not help and referred me to Cash Star. That's it. No one helped.
I was however able to confirm that the gift card has $0 on it and there were no purchases made previously with the gift card. QVC issued a $0 gift card to my mother and I paid $100 for it.
This issue was 'escalated' to the finance department on Oct 27th. I have not heard back. No one at QVC will follow up with this.
This issue has been 'escalated' to a mystery department in Cash Star. The case number is CS*******.

I was trying to purchase 80 $200 Albertson's gift cards for our employees with a wire transfer. Our bank requires the address of the wire recipient and a contact person as part of their fraud prevention program. Cash Star refused to give me a physical address, telling me that they had no address and that it was not needed for a wire transfer. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that he was busy and would call back later. 24 hrs later no return call. Albertson's can not help even though that is their vendor. I have cancelled the order
Petco uses this company for it's e gift cards and it will get aborted for phishing! Don; t fall for Petco e gift card promotions! BEWARE!
Bought a $500 e-gift card on Ikea and wasn't aware it was from a third party site that wouldn't actually deliver it or care... I have to report it to my bank to try and get money back from this scam. Shame on any company that uses these guys. Wish I knew and did research before hand.
I was supposed to receive a $150 credit from Timberland Boots for poor quality products; however, the credit was given to someone else who cashed it in a store in California. Neither Timberland nor CashStar will do anything about this case of fraud.
Answer: This company is a fraud $ should be shut down! It is outrageous!
