I have been slowly more disappointed with Car Shield over the years. I don't feel appreciated as a member. I get different responses on what will be covered. Presently I have a sun roof/mesh issue. The motor of the mesh is not working. Possibly bc the roof is ajar and needs to be fixed.(Tightened) I am sorely disappointed by the response and timely manner to hear back after I have reached out about certain things being covered. The insurance overall is a smart way to go. You But I do plan to shop around comparing prices. Customer service is usually subpar which complicates things as well.

My 2015 Toyota Rav 4 liftgate wasn't closing properly. It needed struts and liftgate sensor. Carshield paid most of the cost for the struts but refused to pay for the sensor, leaving me to pay $300 for the struts+ $700 for the sensor instead of the $100 they misleadingly advertise. 😒

Gary, upon further review, it appears there is an approved authorization for both rear power tailgate support/struts. We do not see anything on the claim regarding a sensor. If there is an issue with the sensor, please have the Repair Facility send in the documentation so we can review that information. Very difficult to navigate for coverage because it was necessary to make many phone calls to different departments. I still have not heard back regarding car rental. Car stopped running on a Saturday afternoon. I had to make an appointment with Enterprise on line because I needed a car for work on Sunday evening. It is only open on Sunday from 9 to 12 for pick up. Then had car towed to repair shop Gaddis in Muncie on Monday morning. It was ready for pick up on Tuesday morning.

Service on my car

The service was very good the only problem I had was they told me my part would be there the next day. It took 3 days for the part to arrive from them which delayed my car getting fixed. The shop I took it to had the parts on hand and it could have been done that day. The decision was made to mail the part because of money. Being without my car for a week was an inconvenience
