My AC unit stopped working on 04/12/2025 so I took it to my repair shop (Midas). I gave the manager (Josh) my Car-Sheild Contract number and the phone number to Car-Shield. The AC unit is covered in my contract, so Josh had his crew do a diagnostic on my AC unit and then tried to call Car Shield. I was present when Josh tried to call. A Car Shield associate answered the phone and immediately put Josh on hold and never picked back up. Josh tried again on 04/14/2025 (Monday) only to be put on hold with no-one picking up time after time. I called Car-Shield on the 15th and was told that I couldn't start a claim and that only the repair shop could start a claim. The associate on the phone said that she would call Midas in the 16th, which she did, but immediately hung up, when Josh asked to put her on hold because his shop was really busy. Josh spent the rest of the 16th trying to reach Car-Sheild only to be put on hold time and time again. I told Josh to go ahead and make the repairs and I paid for everything out of pocket because my van had been in the shop for five days waiting on Car-Shield to talk to Midas. I make my payments every month to Car-Shield, and I feel like Car-Shield didn't really help me.

After an extensive review of the call system, we do not show any calls made to us or the claims administrative company, American Auto Shield, from the shop. Unfortunately, some shops do not want to take the extra step of filing the claim with us and would rather the customer just pay for everything to save themselves time. Based on what you mentioned about them being busy, that very well may be the case. We did try to help you by contacting the shop ourselves to try to help get the process started for you, but they had our representative on hold for over 10 minutes before they had to move on and take care of the next customer. 1st breakdown called a tow truck, cause I didn't have info in truck, so had to call to see if we could get reimbursed for at least some of the tow bill. Customer service attendant we spoke with was extremely nice and helpful. Put claim in and still waiting on e-mail response about our claim ticket to see if they'll reimburse us. OUR tow truck arrived in 30 minutes. Next time will try to use their towing provider if we have number with us. Engine control module went out and was not a covered part though.

Took our car in for a problem at the local Chevrolet dealer. Presented them with a copy of my agreement and learned that the dealer refused to work with CarShield. They stated that their, previous experience with the company was so unsatisfactory that they would not honor the contract. They further stated that delays in payment for services provided during earlier claims were the major cause for the rejection. I was in need of the repair in a timely manner and ended up paying the full cost regardless of having an active policy. It is useless to have a policy if CarShield cannot have a positive relationship with a dealer.

It's a good service and the staff is very knowledgeable polite and helpful the last time I called, I never used the roadside assistance service but I would recommend the service as to the outline I read on the website.

I was without a car for almost a week and I ended up paying for almost 1/2 of it after I have been paying monthly for as long as I have been paying, thinking I would only need to pay the deductible. They were not allow to order parts and required to use components that were not new. My car only has ******* miles even though it is 2001 and this was the original AC unit and should of been treated with more respect. I am 79 and very limited in my movement and not having a car for so long is not to my satisfaction at all.
