Our experience with sales was underwhelming but fine.
It was delivery and then attempting to deal with CAS and the delivery company after that has been entirely frustrating and a run around which close to 2 months later has still not been addressed.
In the process of our new fridge being brought in a tile on our kitchen floor was cracked and the wood transition piece damaged/chipped.
While upstairs I heard a crash and the two guys talking loudly to one another (I could not understand what they were saying as they were speaking in a language other than English). I went downstairs to investigate. I checked the floor in the hallway and the walls. I should have asked about the crash sound and where exactly they were when it occurred. The fridge was left in the kitchen just in front of the spot where it would later be pushed into. I was told to leave it unplugged and sitting as is for 1 hour. I was asked to sign the form saying that the delivery occurred and I was satisfied. I held off briefly and did an inspection of the fridge. I was looking for any potential dents or dings as the sound I heard had me worried there might be damage somewhere. While inspecting the delivery guy once again approached me with the form asking me to sign. I felt rushed and having not found any damage to the fridge in the few minutes I was provided I signed after commenting the fridge looks fine.
After the hour was up I plugged in the fridge and pushed it in to its correct spot which then uncovered the cracked tile and damaged transition. I immediately called a provided contact and made a claim which included pictures of the damage.
I was then informed to expect a follow up call in 3-5 days. Over a week later I finally got a call. It was the most insensitive, unprofessional and rude phone call I have even gotten. A loose summary basically went along the lines of stating did I remember signing a form and that he was willing to email it to me (which he never did) and that he wanted to help me but that his hands were tied bc I signed this form saying that there was no damage. I communicated that I had heard a crash and had a worry to which he was condescending and said something along the lines of yeah but you signed the form. I communicated that I was unable to see any damage prior to signing and felt pressured to sign so the guys could carry on. He said I could have taken as long as I liked/needed and again communicated his hands were tied and he couldn't help me. At this point I was becoming defensive and angry. He showed no compassion or interest in considering that the damage was done by the delivery guy and in a real $#*! move tried to give his clearly scripted sign off which was not fitting for the exchange that we had had. Nothing this person said or did qualifies as customer service in my eyes and certainly was not helpful in any way. Actually, I cannot think of another equal or more infuriating experience/interaction.
A day later I emailed back asking for another follow up as I couldn't remember if I had spoken to the fridge being on top of the damage as the person who had called me had no interest in asking questions and even less interest in anything I had to say which left me flustered.
I have since called 3 times and emailed twice. During the phone calls I asked for a manager and was told "CAS does not have a manager" and have been unable to speak to anyone higher than customer service. Customer service has not been able to address my concern to date.
On my most recent call I was told to email again requesting a written response. I did and have still not received an email or phone call. This was close to 3 weeks ago.
Our fridge was delivered in August.
Despite loving the fridge we will not be considering CAS for our upcoming dishwasher and stove purchase. In fact we will be tell friends and family to also be cautious in choosing a company where the customer service has been entirely unhelpful and giving us the run around.
While the delivery was another company it was arranged by CAS and therefor I feel they have an obligation to either help hold them accountable or step up to fix the mistake made.
I ordered a washer and dryer pair from your Vega Store on November 8th 2022. When I ordered the washer and dryer pair (LG 4100 and DLX4200B), I told Zul (sales rep) I need them for Feb 24,2023 for my new build. Sales Rep assured me that shouldn't be an issue. We agreed on a price and the order was placed and paid in full on the spot.
Come the second week or February and I confirm with sales rep the order. The dryer (DLX4200B) was not in stock but the washer was in, and he advised me to take it. So I took delivery of the washer. Now, the dryer was pushed back to mid March and sales rep told me to wait. After many phone calls back and forth with sales rep, I come to find out the new expected date for the dryer is now End of April, with no guarantees it's going to come. I was in talks with sales rep about options, because it'll be almost six months since the order was placed and no guarantees I'd get a dryer and I have to go to my parents house to do laundry every week.
Getting a hold of sales rep has been a challenge. My repeated phone calls and emails most times go unanswered and I've had to resort to leave work multiple times and show up to the store to talk him. It felt like he was avoiding me which was very unprofessional.
Since I took delivery of the washer, on their advice, the sales rep and manager's only solution was for me to accept an open box dryer or cancel my order and pick up the washer that I've had for a month now and now I have to pay for uninstall and pay for new hoses for a new washer +re-install. I do not accept taking an open box dryer especially when I paid for a new one 5 months ago. Due to this inconvenience of having to cancel my order, I have missed on various opportunities of purchasing this washer/dryer combo elsewhere for a similar price. I am forced to pay an extra $500 for this pair at full price at a competitor who has them in stock.
I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled from the start. I was blindsided numerous times and inconvenienced for the install and my current laundry situation. I refuse to pay for Appliance Canada's lack of foresight.
So I'd watch out with these, guys, they'll hold your money hostage as the price goes out and you're priced out of the market - because they can't fulfill their promises. How come they can't get it, but everyone else can at a much higher price?
I feel SCAMMED. If I could give them a lower than 1 star, I would.
We went into the CAS location on Decarie blvd in Montreal last January to purchase a refrigerator. To be honest the initial shopping experience went well, and we left happy with the choice we made with the salesperson Patrick Gagnon. But that is where that feeling ended.
We are now ending November and we have yet to receive our refrigerator. I understand the delays in global supply chain that were suffered by everyone, but we received our first FALSE delivery notification in February, followed by another FALSE one in August. These were then followed up by a couple of backorder notifications in which the specs of the refrigerator we ordered were changed without notification. The water dispenser which was supposed to be an included feature of the fridge MAGICALLY disappeared.
At the beginning of this month the second stage of this ridiculous ordeal began when, upon finally receiving the fridge, we realized that the water dispenser was not present.
When we called to have what we thought CAS would consider to be a small issue to resolve after having us wait for so long we were told that we never order the fridge for which we have the invoice, the model with the water dispenser included, that we would have to PAY to have it replaced if we wanted it! They started with saying we would have to pay for the pick-up of the one incorrectly sent as well as the new one.
We went to Patrick to try to fix this since we had the original order with the correct model in hand, but he was not there. We were met with harsh disrespect by another Salesperson, Mehdi Zemharir who told us that it wasn't his problem, we had to figure it out ourselves and sit at one of the desks if we wanted to wait on hold to see if we could get through to support.
When we went back the next day to speak to Patrick, expecting a better result having been the person we dealt with he dismissed the error and brushed us off saying "I made a mistake, so what?" figure it out. Figureit it out has has CAS attempt to have us purchase 2 more refrigerators and now they've MADE US pay for an "upgrade".
Which brings us to the latest of stages in this comedy of Customer care incompetence: after receiving a broken fridge which the delivery company rightly refused to take off the truck, we've been going back and forth trying to get the delivery completed only to have spent a day at home waiting this past Wednesday to have someone say that they arrived at our house to find no one there are also LIE saying that they attempted to call for which we have again sent through record of no call being made.
To Fix this, the resolution department has decided that a refund of $89.95 is sufficient to keep me quiet and "happy" as it is "all they can do"
IF YOU CAN, AVOID CAS AT ALL COST, no matter what these scammers promise you. We sure as hell are never buying a thing from them again!
STAY AWAY
1 year and still no product received
We ordered a dishwasher from Canadian Appliance Source through sales person Mehar Riyat in September 2021 for local pickup. We were told It was not in stock at the time but there were 15+ on order which would arrive mid to end of October and we could place an order with 25% fully refundable deposit. We will be notified when the product is in stock for pickup, and full payment can be made at that time. So we put down the deposit as it seemed pretty reasonable.
After that the ETA on the order status is being updated to be always 2-4 weeks in the future. After 4 months I emailed sales rep Mehar Riyat in January 2022. No reply. In February 2022 I connected to another sales rep through live chat. His name is 'Alexander C'. I asked him about the availability of the same model of the dishwasher we ordered. Before knowing we have an existing order he told us if we order now the availability would be 2 to 7 days. After showing him our order with ETA still a month away (yes after 5 months), he said the reason our order is not fulfilled was because we have not made full payment as their product allocation is based on who has made the full payment. As soon as I said this wasn't what we were told when we placed the order, he abruptly closed the chat and left.
I sensed something unusual with this company. So I called customer service and requested to speak to a supervisor. After I told the supervisor(not sure if that's a real one) about the extended delay of the order and the inconsistent information I was provided, the supervisor appeared to be not surprised and even urged me to make full payment to get in line and even provided an in stock date that's in the very near future.
At that point I decided to cancel the order and request full refund. Even if they offer me immediate delivery with half price I would not want to take. Not surprised this wasn't easy as they have a policy saying the order can only be canceled by the original sales person. I made numerous calls/emails/voicemails to Mehar Riyat within a week - total silence. Every time I called customer service said he was either not working on that day or too busy. In my last attempt I told the customer service agent I would have to GET POLICE INVOLVED if I do not receive confirmation for cancellation and refund in 2 days as this appeared to be fraud. Only after that they canceled my order.
I considered myself to be the lucky one. At least we have recovered our few hundred dollar deposit after 5 months, not to say it disrupted our plan. In the reviews I have read about dealing with Canadian Appliance Source, people have paid them thousands and got stuck, much worse than we are.
Below are some of their policies that are against common sense. I don't think a normal, reputable, mainstream merchant will have anything like these:
* An order can only be canceled by the original sales person.
* Deposit Amount (25% of order total) is non-refundable
* All invoice prices are final. Prices will not be raised or lowered even if our listed price is higher or lower than the date of this invoice (even if your products have not yet been delivered). Canadian Appliance Source lists pricing based on our cost of the product on the date and time of purchase.
* We will not take back products that are not in the original packaging. If you might return the products then please advise the delivery team to not remove the packaging.
* CAS reserves the right to limit or refuse to accept the return of merchandise at any time and for any reason.
Check out their reviews on BBB. (noticed it's 404 recently, possibly removed by the owner for fear of being exposed)
Very risky dealing with them. Would suggest you buy from a reputable seller.
Cancelled order as I sensed the dishonesty of this company.
Hi everyone who may read this.
I am writing to complain about CANADA APPLIENCES superficial attitude and inability to solve a problem, created by them and not by me
I have purchased last week a wall oven where it was sold to me by your sales in CAS Etobicoke store.
This unit was declared as OPEN BOX but, for me it was presented as a unit sealed in an original package / box and was not possible to inspect. If this was an "open box" or "floor model" as they wish to call it; either way this should be accessible for me or anyone for inspection of any physical damages prior to purchase.
IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE AT ALL and sale associate is my witness (I hope).
Once upon my return home, I have opened this box and removed all original wrappings, I realised that the unit was mishandled, dropped or so.
The oven body is all crooked and misaligned. The interior cavity measuring diagonally is showing 28" by 28.5" which is obvious deterioration. This stress caused interior blue enamel to chip off in three places which is now a health hazardous issue for my family. Images of all this damages were sent respectively to CAS for their review and further action.
I simply cannot believe that Canada Appliances (known as CAS) and claim department rejected my claim completely without even trying to help or understand the matter. They have ignoring the fact that the mentioned OVEN could not be inspected by me or anyone else. As a customer I was fooled into buying something that looked as new and unpacked.
I am sure that someone at the showroom office knew that the same unit was bad and because of it was never opened or presented as an open box item.
Well, it was not an OPENED BOX or FLOOR MODEL to me or anyone else by the definition of open or unopened box meaning. It is also noted in CAS system under my purchase order that BOX was not opened, not inspected.
CAS simply ignored that and the best they can do was: "WE ARE SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE".
As an Architect, I was ordering so many appliances thru CAS company and their sales staff knows me (other then the last one). Unfortunately it was in a showroom I did not go earlier. Yet, when it comes to my purchase they have shown me total disrespect, ignorance to do something to help for what is totally not my fault. Nor I was able to act accordingly before purchase.
This is totally unprofessional, unfair and careless from CANADA APPLIENCES.
For all of you potential buyers, please BE AWARE before you commit.
I will consider my future orders for my clients someplace else.
Shame on you, CAS
(purchase order # T*******)
Bob Rekalic
Be aware, as once you commit to, there is nobody from CAS to help you out.
Customer service is doing nothing as they cannot solve anything but to tell you they are sorry for you trouble and inconvenience. They are useless and they are limited to answering phones only!
Wall oven Electrolux model EW30EW55PS
I was looking for a hood fan online and came across the Canadian appliance store online. The deals they had on the website was crazy. They were cheaper than anyone one else.
On the website they have a big add on hood fans with crazy discount. So I found the one I wanted (elica 36" hood fan with 600cfm) for 879.00 and on the bottom of price it says free blower. So I thought this is a crazy deal because the original price on this thing is 2295. 00. So I went into the store the located in ottawa ontario to buy the fan and a diahwasher. The store was nice and had alot of different appliances. After looking around a sales person asked if I needed assistance. So I told him what I wanted. It was a Bosch dishwasher and the elica hood fan. As he was doing the pricing for me I saw that there was an extra 400 on the bill. I asked him what that was for and he said that's the motor for the fan. (Because u can't drive a car without an engine that was his response to me) I asked him if that's the same thing as a blower to make sure I read the add right and he said yes its the same. So I told him ur add says free blower. He said it can't be because it doesn't show on my screen. So I pulled it up on my phone and showed it to him. He walks to his manager and shows it to him. He comes back saying its an error on the website. I said it's been advertised since boxing day and we are now a month later you mean to tell me no one came in to buy this unit and no one has payed attention to it? He said people make mistakes and this is a mistake and I can't give it to you for that price because I will loose my job. So I told him but its advertised its not your problem so it should be given to me for that price with the blower. He told me to go read the fine print on the website and it will tell me that they might make mistakes on the website and prices can change (very rudely). So I told him to cancel the order and he said he has no problem doing so.
I walked out And called the 800 number and told them what happened. And they said it is a mistake but they can't do anything because the supervisor is not in. So I told them to fix the website. A week later and the deal is still on there.
The website is a scam because once your in the store to buy prices go up. It's false advertising just to get people in the store and the sales person that I was dealing with was very rude.
I will never buy from them and if anyone does I suggest to check all prices before buying
