Great Customer Service

I ordered a new shower faucet and I received the incorrect shower head from what was advertised. The combination of shower head to the shower faucet was no longer offered by the manufacturer so I was a little disappointed. Build.ca, however, had that shower head in stock as a separate part and as they realized their web site was not up to date (I am sure it is quite a task to keep their thousands of products up to date), they sent me the advertised shower head free of charge. I am a VERY satisfied customer!

P.S. The free shipping was also EXTREMELY fast. Ordered Sunday, received Tuesday.

Disgusted

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL. I am so sorry I did not read reviews before I ordered. First piece came damaged and I waited about 7 hours for delivery. I was given a window of time -4 hour period. Second delivery, I took another day off and it never came. Next day, I took another day off and never showed up again. No one from build.com or Delivery company could provide me with answers. By far, this has been the most unreliable. Do yourself a favor and order somewhere else.

I ordered a Delta Towel bar and paid for express shipping. Instead of the towel bar I ordered, I received a SINK DRAIN, yet a sink drain. I returned the item, they received and signed for it and over 17 days and counting, NO credit was issued to my account. I emailed them about the credit at the customer service email address and no one responded. After 4 days and no response, I called them about the refund which was finally issued about 4 days after I spoke to someone on the phone. All told, they had the good for 25 days before they would give me back my money for the goods I returned. I would never order from them again.

Let the buyer beware! I ordered a sizeable order of Dahltile tiles, 2 different types and 3 or 4 different sizes. 14 of the smallest tiles did not arrive at all, unless they were contained in the powder in and around the two broken boxes in which those tiles were supposed to be contained and distributed around both palates of tiles. Three 17 x17 inch tiles arrived broken, three 13x13 in. Tiles were broken and about a dozen of the 6 x 6 tiles that did arrive were also broken. When I informed build.com of these problems they instructed me to send the tiles back "in the original boxes" which, for the most part were not boxes at all but, on arrival, were bent and broken cardboard frames around all but the 6x6 tiles. They then sent a huge freight truck by my house unannounced on at least two different occasions to pick up what I gathered from the freight driver was to be the entire order! Seriously, I could not get them to understand that I did not want to return the entire order, but only wanted to return the broken tiles in any container I could fit them into, and I wanted them to ship me, in good condition, the fourteen missing 6 x 6 inch tiles and, if possible, replace the broken tiles of all sizes. It has been nearly a month now, and I still cannot get any sensible response from any of their so-called customer service representatives. When I did get a little sanity and service from ONE representative, he apparently could get absolutely no backup from any of his coworkers or superiors in the company. Good grief. I will NEVER again order anything from these incompetent morons!

Great customer service!

I don't understand why Build.com has so many bad reviews here. My experience was much different. I have placed 3 orders on faucetdirect.com (a subsidiary of build.com). The first two orders arrived without any problems and I was able to get exactly what i was looking for (3 faucets on the first order and a toilet on the second).

I recently ordered another toilet similar to the first for another bathroom. This one had some problems, I received an email saying my order was held and I needed to call. I called and quickly reach a live person who spoke native English. She said she didn't see why they had me call. She apologized and released the order. She then emailed me her direct phone number and email in case I had any other problem.

The toilet arrived in a couple days via UPS, but the bowl had been broken in shipment. I did not call the person who helped me before. Instead I called the general customer service line and quickly spoke with a man that was very helpful. He asked me to email him pictures of the damage which I did. He immediately placed a free replacement order for the broken bowl. He then sent me his contact information in case there were any other problems.

The new bowl arrived in a couple days via UPS more broken than the first. I called the man who sent the replacement. He apologized and said he would ensure we get a good part quickly. A new order was placed and in a couple days I received a call from a trucking company who arranged to deliver the bowl. It came strapped to a pallet in perfect condition. The driver brought it into the house and allowed us to inspect.

Due to the problems I had, I have to give high grades for the customer service i received to resolve them. It is rare to get a live person on the phone to help you from other companies.

Ordered 2 fans that were matching to go up at different ends of same room, hired an electrician to install them one fan did not work motor hummed and light worked but did not turn the blades paid the electrician 2 extra hours trouble shooting fan called the company and they said they would send out another fan, the fan arrived it was the wrong color did not match, called build.com, they said it would be another week before they could send the right one and they needed a credit card to process it until they got the inop one back, it was like adding insult to injury they way they treated me because of all of thier mistakes and issues now i have to have the electrician come back again to install this fan when it arrives, the electrician alone will cost way more then the fans are worth not to mention the time spent talking with them on the phone (and being put on hold constantly while trying to work all of this out) and waiting on replacements. I wont buy from them again, very bad customer service.

NOT so Brilliant!

This past July I ordered a Kohler 1 piece toilet. It was delivered a few days later in several pieces. In other words the toilet was broken. I contacted customer service and placed the order again to be delivered the following week. This one piece toilet was the living again in several pieces. Again the toilet was broken. I contacted customer service again and made arrangements for third delivery. They assured us that they would use a different third-party delivery company. I took off the day of the delivery from my job so that I could be there to inspect the toilet once it arrived. The time of the delivery was for 3 PM to 5 PM. I called the third-party delivery company to find out when they would be delivering the toilet. They said that they were there and no one answered the door. This is not true I was home the entire day including the 3 to 5 designated time. I found out that they were running late and will be delivering it the following day they agreed that a delivery was not attempted. Have to leaving work early the following day to meet the delivery van once again the toilet was delivered in pieces. We contacted customer service yet again and they assured us that they would ship out an intact unit. We asked for some kind of recompense for this frustrating order. I suggested a small discount - (say 10%) for the time at work I lost and the fact that three toilets were delivered broken. They said NO- nothing they could do. I should mention that it was now the middle of August. 5 weeks of this nonsense. Being held hostage at this point. As any local store would need a 4 week wait time ( due to the grey color i ordered) I decided to go 1 more time. The next delivery, the guy didnt even take it off the truck I had to climb up and yes it too was broken!
It gets better the refund took another 2 months to get. The service department, the supervisors of the service department, and Bill.com did nothing for all my travel and yet the last three weeks Ive got an email after email to do a review. I would caution anyone considering buying from Bill.com to just look at the local stores and wait for the order to come in. Please remove any further emails sent to me as I would never do business with you AGAIN

Liars and cheats

Ordered 3 ceiling fans with down rods. Got ceiling fans in three days and was lied about delivery of down rods neede to complete installation for customer and was told 3 different occasions that down rods will arrive tomorrow during a period of 10 days. Ordered from Amazon and got them in two days. Every one I talked to at Build.com give a xxxx needle was on zero!

I placed an order for a bathroom shower set, and it was not California compliant which I knew, but since it was not intended for California I bought it to send to my house in Armenia. They asked me for an outside of California address to ship, I did provide them and instead of processing the order one jerk called me and told me that I had to cancel my order and apologise on behalf of other reps that gave out wrong information to me. It was a special order item and now I have to waith for the money to come back and the new special order processing time. I definetely do not recommend these rookies to anyone, very unproffesional and not well wualified customer service for the US consumer.

This company is very dishonest. We bought an expensive microwave that we needed to return. We made arrangements with Build.com on June 27th to pick up the microwave. It is now October 8th and we have still not received our refund despite making many attempts to resolve this with their customer service department. We only receive the run-around! I am not sure if their customer service department is incompetent or intentionally ripping us off. Either way, we will NEVER do business with them again.

A dishonest company!

My credit card was charged overnight by this company for over $300 for purchases I never made! I've never even heard of this company until today. I had to go through the hassle of cancelling my card and now have to wait for my new one. Do not trust this company!

I have had the worst experience with build.com. Completely sold me a bag of goods that wasn't worth crap. I spent $******* in lamps with them that were supposedly of the highest quality - turned out to be a complete SHAM.

False advertising

Be aware that if you buy something from them, they change the delivery date after the order is completed. Then they play the warehouse has to cancel the order if you don't agree with the new delivery date! After 20 emails and frustration, Amazon stepped in and told them how to cancel the order. They would not have if not for that. I wouldn't buy a roll of toilet paper from them.

Home Improvement is a contradiction in terms... this outfit needs to be shut down!

Poor customer service/satisfaction. Purchase a Krause faucet (excellent product) however ability to work with Build.com was impossible!

I am managing a bathroom remodel. I bought the wrong drain and the plumber pointed that out. It took time to get the framing done due to the carpenter I hired and so when the plumber came and told me I had the wrong part it was after 30 days. Build.com has a policy if it is after the 30 days, you will not get your money back but an "in-store credit". So I have to buy something from this lousy company again to get somewhat of my money's worth. I will never use them again.

I placed my original order for my Price-Pfister bathroom stuff this past summer... June 22 to be precise. Ordered and paid for, I might add. The majority of the order came in quite early and I was so, so pleased. But then... I realized the towel rings were back ordered. Okay, I can deal with that, but how many times do I have to deal with them being back ordered? The man I talked to, Larry, said they would be sent out that day since there were 21 in inventory at the time. Then oops, no, Aug., nope, now Oct.! I'm holding all the new things I ordered until everything comes in and I'm here to tell you, I'm pretty tired of waiting! Someone needs to get on the ball there and get me my DARN TOWEL RINGS - ALL THREE (3) OF THEM! They have been bought & paid for since June 22,2017. Thank you! Phyllis Turner

Dishonest business

If you order a part from this site be careful!, The page will automatically choose a color for you depending on where your mouse is. You don't actually get to click on a color and choose it! Very disappointing experience. Called customer service when part was delivered in the wrong color. She said, you chose blue. I said I didn't choose that color, and she said, well, your mouse must have been pointing to that color. I went back onto the webpage, and she is right depending on where your mouse is, the color changes. You never get to actually click on a color and choose it!

Won't be buying from them

Was bombarded by emails from Build.com. Unsubscribed at least three or four times, but they still keep coming. Finally had to block. A high-pressure business model with no interest in customers. Read their reviews and decide if you want to risk doing business with these folks. I won't be.
