I can't understand all the negative reviews about Brit Box.
I have subscribed Brit Box through Roku and have never had problems.
My favorites feature detectives Frost and Poirot.
I love the content and am very satisfied.
My mother was charged in May 2020 $69.99, her Visa account said BritBox, not Apple Pay. She bought a subscription through Apple in Aug. 2019. I went online to Britbox.com and got her logged in and it said she had a subscription via Apple. I am on my 4th call to Britbox and the call kicks me out after a 20 minute wait (I was "3rd" in line). Why are they billing her twice? The Apple subscription is to be renewed Aug. 2020 and I went ahead and cancelled it for her.
I got this because Netflix was getting rid of the shows I liked.
Now that I have it I noticed that the seasons of shows are not all there, some have 3-4 episodes missing, not to mention some shows I like only have 4 of 8 seasons the other ones say you have to buy!
I didn't get this program to have buy other programs to see what I was supposed to get from Britbox.
If a series has 6 seasons I would think that you would get all, not some!

I canceled my subscription to prime in April of this year, and that also canceled my Britt box. I got a confirmation email that Britbox is canceled, but I was still being billed for it. I contacted customer service who told me I had two subscriptions, which I didn't, under the same email. I sent him a screenshot of the cancellation from britbox I sent him a screenshot of my TV showing that I could not login, It was subscribe payment screen. I asked for a screenshot of the screen he was looking out indicating I had a second account he would not send it.
I ended up contacting my bank they put a block on BritBox for year so they would not be able to charge me again my bank is returning my money and they are going to pursue BritBox for it.
The worst customer service!
The absolute rudest customer service agent. TIA She hung up on me when I criticized the service! Called back and she admitted that she hung up. Asked for supervisor and she said she couldn't hear me due to a bad connection. What a crock! Never use this company. Awful outdated programs and sorry customer service. Waste of time and $$$$
I used Britbox for one 2-weeks, and found the service/offerings not to be of interest. I canceled the subscription within the time limits, and now am repeatedly billed via Amazon each month for this service. As such, every month I have to go through Amazon's (not so good) customer service to have the charged reversed. Every month. It is ridiculous.
I noticed on June 4th that I was being double billed. Now I had not noticed because it can take 3-5 days for the 6.99 payment to process. I had this service almost 3 years. However I went to cancel my subscription just for the summer months and noticed it did not cancel after reviewing my billing history I had been charged twice a month for the last year and 3 times I. October. I got a ticket number got a return email on the 10th asking for patience now customer service is never available and I have be issued a new ticket number. I'll just stick with acorn
I really don't see why I should pay for programmes I have already paid for and it is not worth the money to see programmes that I have already had to suffer adverts. I subscribed to BritBox purely to watch Spitting Image but that programme is extremely poor and can't hold a candle to the original version especially in terms of quality impressions and on the mark satire So subscription cancelled. At least that was easy.
I subscribe to BritBox via Amazon: Have tried numerous time to get the last four episodes of Shetland S5 loaded... They are the Feb2th thru Mar 19th episodes... CS Reps have no power to escalate a customer request. Email responses are auto generated...
Don't subscribe this company has a deaf ear: It cannot last.
We have been happy with the show's on Britbox until recently. The new Death in Paradise SEASON came out in the US. Guess what? Britbox is charhi g extra. $2.99 per episode. What a crock, is that what you are you going to do with any new seasons.
I was looking forward to this for some time. But very disappointed that I'm unable to use chromecast with it and can't watch it on my big TV screen. Don't want to watch on my small iPad and phone screen. So I unsubscribed after 30 day free trial. Will resubscribe once you can chromecast
Signed up directly with Britbox after a temporary trial was offered on Amazon Prime. Everything was fine on Amazon, but once I signed up directly on Britbox, severe issues with audio quality and poor video quality. Audio sounds like its very tinny and not even stereo. Asked them if I could switch my subscription to Britbox through Amazon, and they said no, so I'm stuck for a year with a subscription that provides horrible quality.
Wonderful programs if you could watch them. We have 50bps Internet speed and it takes an average of 15 minutes to get to watch list and another 5 minutes to get program to load and then it buffers all the way through. Don't have the problem on other streaming platforms
I've been a loyal Britbox subscriber on Amazon Prime for over a year. But Bribox's refusal to make episodes 3 to 6 of Shetland Season 5 available is causing me to cancel my subscription. The company seems insensitive to the needs of its customers. It's May 11th and episodes 1 and 2 of Shetland Season 5 were released in February.
For some reason I pay for a very unstable app which I mean I need to unplug from my rocku sometimes days at a time. Totally cool about it. However know Kinda not cool since I asked for a reset and it never came through
I subscribed to this service so that I could watch Eastenders. I became addicted to this program when it aired on PBS. PBS discontinued it, but I was able to watch it on BBC America. The, despite a lot of pleading by watchers, BBC America discontinued it. I thought that I would never see another episode again. Then I found that Britbox aired Eastenders. I was sold. I read some of the negative comments, but I really have not had those issues. I would have given my review 5 stars, but the customer service is really bad.
Watch out- free 7 day trial is a scam! After trying for several days I decided to cancel due to the continual Loading during episodes. Very annoying! Canceled on the 7th day and credit card was still charged for one month service. AcornTV is a much better deal and offers much better service.
Tried to sign up through ROKU. Ran me in circles technically. Tried to sign up off laptop. Ran me in circles technically! Called Brit Box technical support. Ran me in circles! Told me that I wasn't technically sophisticated enough. Blamed ROKU as being too complicated for BritBox. Of course, I have never had a problem joining other streaming channels through ROKU. Colossal waste of time. Use Acorn, easy to subscribe and fun to watch.
Lots of really old Brit tv, which I've already seen. However, lots of shows with no closed captioning which makes me reconsider keeping a subscription. I can't really understand some of the British accents and closed captioning really helps. There are some shows I would like to see but if I can't get closed Captioning, I will let this subscription expire.
Today is 3-22-19 (Friday) & I just found out there are NO episodes for Friday. This has happened before on Coronation St. No explanation if offered by Britbox-just no episodes. Customer service has no answer about this.
Why can't Britbox send a message across the screen when they are NOT broadcasting a current episode of Corontion St? I can get this on HULU also with my subscription. There is NO special holiday in England today-I have checked.
Britbox has a rating of 1.6 stars from 322 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Britbox most frequently mention customer service, free trial and credit card. Britbox ranks 198th among Streaming Movies sites.
