Outstanding Roofing Company
May 30, 2021

I've used Blake Co numerous times on 3 properties of mine in Hillsborough, Hernando, and Pasco Counties. All jobs have been completed in a timely fashion and communication has been wonderful. The work was done to perfection on all occasions and the ladies in the office are always polite and courteous. Tim will be straight with you in pricing and diagnosing the issue. He always gives you the option to repair and extend your roof's life or to fully replace to which I've done both with this company. I've always been provided pictures of the entire process of the replacements or repairs. I will never use another roofing company and truthfully honor his expertise. Not to mention he's pointed me in the direction of other reliable contractors when the task was outside of his craft.

It gets better
May 28, 2021

A building inspector stopped by to assess the work done by Tim Blake of BlakeCoRoofing and said he was going to send me an order to comply to get a permit since this company did not get a permit before doing work. He further stated that the work was not done properly and would not have passed inspection. Where the work was done, the water has settled and is not draining down to the gutter.
PLEASE BEWARE, this man is not to trust.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review as feedback, both positive and negative, helps us grow. Blake Co Roofing received Ms. Ryan's roofing lead via Thumbtack stating a need for "roof repair and/or maintenance" on 4/8/21. Our representative came out on 4/9/21 to inspect the roof and provided a verbal estimate for both a flat roof replacement and a repair. Ms. Ryan opted for the repair as it was cheaper. Our office manager sent over written estimate/contract for the perimeter repair of the flat roof that same day at 4:45PM. The contract was approved, signed, and returned by Ms. Ryan to us the same day at 4:57PM. Said contracted work was scheduled and completed on 4/13/21. Permits in this county are not required unless the project is over a specific amount. While on the job, our representative took several shingle pictures where the solar company damaged Ms. Ryan's shingles to provide her with so they could come out and fix that, free of charge. A copy of the receipt stating "paid in full", photos of the job, and a second copy of the contract containing warranty information was sent to Ms. Ryan via email on 4/14/21 at 8:26AM. Within the week we received an email from Ms. Ryan stating “When I got the quote of $1,200 for the front roof, I WAS 100% EXPECTING the entire area be done; not just the edges.” However that is exactly what was approved and contracted for. In efforts to appease Ms. Ryan, we then offered to replace the entire section for solely the material cost, so essentially double the work for no profit at this point. Ms. Ryan informed us you would have to save up. After continuously attempting to negotiate the price lower, we then retracted our material only offer. Blake Co Roofing was not notified of any oozing tar until 5/25/21, after Ms. Ryan had been notified that we could not do her full replacement free of charge. Ms. Ryan has had various people (Vivint Solar representative and BMCI representative stated on 5/25/21) walk all over the repaired area potentially causing the Florida state approved tar to ooze out from under the flat roofing system. The repair came with a two (2) year "no leak" warranty, to which we stand by wholeheartedly, however Ms. Ryan will not allow us on the property (stated 5/25/21 and 6/5/21) to access and inspect the roof to address any issues. Over the course of three (3) months, Ms. Ryan has threatened to extort us stating "I will give you 2 choices: Mail me a check for $1,200 as refund for poor work and I keep my mouth shut OR I shall get in touch with anyone and everyone I possibly can; I feel sure my pictures and comments will damage your name and income." and damage our reputation by any means. Being a small business, we cannot simply give out refunds to clients who have had the work completed and to spec of the executed contract. We deeply apologize that Ms. Ryan's experience with Blake Co Roofing is reflected as a negative one as that is never our intention, being that we have copious 5 star reviews on all of our various platforms and we always strive to provide the best services every time, to every client. We wish Ms. Ryan the best in her future home construction endures and god bless.
