Blackwing

Order arrived significantly short on weight (8.2 pounds on a 9-12 pound order). Had to call for reimbursement, and it was revealed that they knew they'd shorted me (no one ever reached out). I was reimbursed up to the minimal weight in the range. In short, if you order from here check your weights, realize that 3-4 pounds means they'll provide less than that or compensation equal to the three. (No shipping compensation was offered.) This was likely a fine business model a few years ago, and I get that meat isn't exacting in weight, but with an abundance of customer-focused meat purveyors online these days I'll shop elsewhere.

I bought the ground kangaroo. I've bought this from a number of suppliers before and it's always been 100% tail meat. This said *not* 100% tail meat. OK, what does that mean? It means pieces of bone. I made a stew and had to throw it away because it was inedible. I wouldn't trust anything they do if they can sell me the only inedible kangaroo I've ever tasted

I have used blackwing.com for years, but over the last few years they have sent the wrong items or simply not sent what I ordered. In addition to them screwing up my orders (3 out of last 4) there customer service has also declined. In my most recent order in Feb 2023, they simply left out over $70 worth of product I ordered and I haven't even been able to get through to customer service anymore (I at least could get through to service in the past).

In addition to screwing up orders, it now takes 3 to 4 weeks before they send your order. In the past it only took a week

Being that we have been eating organic foods for at least ten years now, I find myself always looking for top quality organic foods at decent prices. Blackwing is a wonderful place to buy evenly cut and delicious filets, steaks, roasts, ground beef and hotdogs. The meat is tender and fresh. Comes very well packed in a mailer freezer. When we received it within the week we ordered, it arrived frozen solid to our door!~ Gotta blackwing if you want a good steak. They are meticolous with their meats!
