Don't trust this service! Period.
I showed up for a gig, for an artist that was in NO WAY shape or form what I was advertised to by Bandsintown. I understand I'm not alone in this experience after reading several reviews of this service.
You will get through to no human being with an issue and you can kiss whatever money you've spent on some random show for someone with a SIMILAR if not identical name to the artist you actually are listening to that they're targeting an ad for. There doesn't seem to be anyone checking these things with the artist's management before using their name and likeness to sell you tickets for a show that is NOT what you think it is.
A perfect example of why you should not trust cross-tracking apps. The only human error made here is my own, but I will not be fooled again.
I hope this helps keep someone from wasting their time and money!
Supposedly, Bandsintown alerts you, you know, to activity from your favorite bands. Live shows, and in the pandemic era, live streams. For the past two Mondays, Bandsintown has sent me an email about The National doing a live stream on that Monday. That's all - no further info, just get excited, click on our site, look at the ads that provide our revenue, hey, sucks to be you. I think the site is some kind of bot. There's no customer service contact. It's a scam. So, I'm dumping this piece of disappointing garbage.
This company sucks, I made fun of one Universal Music Group artist and said they were garbage and now my artist account is disabled. Do you any work for the big talent agency and record labels.
This is cool in some ways. The concept is great, but it has potential to be better. I love music, especially live music. I wish it covered not-so-well-known artists as well. I mean, I can go to livenation to see upcoming shows of bigger name artists. Bandsintown should cover local talent as well I think.
I was excited to see an upcoming local show advertised. I then realized these folks are selling "tickets" for shows which haven't even opened up for ticket sales yet! I mean, is that a HUGE RED FLAG, or what? From what I am reading here, this isn't an uncommon situation. Therefore I would say: buyer beware. In other words, I would NEVER buy tickets through them. Unsubscribed and blocked.
It says the date of a concert, the artist, & the facility, but not the city or state where it's happening… So very confusing and when I go to the site where the concert is supposedly occurring, it has no record of the concert displayed on the app.
I'm more than upset! We paid over $261 for tickets with misleading advertisements! I am pissed! We found misleading advertisement for the tickets we got on Ticketmaster and bought via BandsinTown, but they do not seriously handle our request to refund the tickets! Ticketmaster told us to contact BandsinTown and they told us we should contact Ticketmaster. I wonder WHO is handling our request? This service is beyond terrible!
I ended up purchasing 2 tickets for the wrong band of an identical name, "Fold", (alternative funk)
In July, Bandsintown emailed me an advert of a band I believed I would be seeing in early September. The photo in the email is proof of that band, "Fold" I 'believed' I would get tickets for, naturally!
In order to purchase the tickets I had to click on a turquoise button at the bottom of the email that took me to the App, Skiddle which I was required to upload. If it hadn't been for one of the members of Fold who's also a friend on Facebook telling me that it wasn't their band, Fold playing, but another "Fold" that played House/Techno, I would have ended up going to the wrong gig! How was I to tell from the tickets I was sold that this was NOT the "Fold" I thought it was? And why would I have thought any other way?!? It turns out - "Fold London" might be the name of a Rave Club; https://www.fold.London
I asked for a refund - it was impossible. Bandsintown customer service was really poor! Not one the exhaustive list of FAQ's applied to my needs! The fact that they're placed on the other end of the globe is also a huge problem. And they tried blaming Skiddle for their mistake! I finally found the phone number for Skiddle who were equally unhelpful. I sent both proof of past emails on countless occasions, but to no avail. I just have to accept that I won't get my £23 back! I will NEVER trust Bandsintown again!
They advertised that snoop Dogg was supposed to be performing bought tickets and he was never even scheduled to perform
