Yes "Babe Cosmetics" will no longer be charging me $16.95 & $34.99 every month and sometimes sending me a box and another month 2 of the same one JUST because I called PayPal… I called your "1-800#" after I learned that "Babe Box" didn't cancel my subscription since the first "free" box which it wasn't "free" cause they charged me for it… there is where I discovered the whole "#800" was bogus because you call and what answers you is a little song and after 7 to 10 minutes it hangs up on its own with no menu, no options, nothing, just the song and then hangs up, so after learning this I wrote an email expressing that I wanted my refunds since I had already canceled that subscription since January and that I wanted to terminate the subscription with them COMPLETELY! All I got in return was an email response saying "sorry for the inconvenience and we have refunded you two charges of $16.95" So let's say you you sent me the " babe box" with five items for $16.95 (because that's how much they are announced for on the website) then what am I paying $34.95 for every month that's those are the refunds I need because I wasn't receiving anything for those charges every month only the 4 boxes which one month was skipped so the next on March I believe they sent me 2 w/ the same contents for that you can charge me the boxes if you would like (even though the first one was supposed to be free and it wasn't) but what am I receiving in return for the $34.95? Nothing, that there is down right trickery on your end. I need my refunds I have a family and a newborn I tried out your company but when I saw that $34.95 charge after my first box I had to cancel it because it was out of my budget. In conclusion if you want to charge me the $16.95 per box even though one was supposed to be free it's fine because I received 4 boxes even tho there was a month skipped & got 2 of the same one the following month; what I want is the refunds of $34.95 because I did not receive anything for that.
The " company " won't make it clear why there is two payments being charged each month (one of $16.95 and another one of $35.95) and they're just sending one box for their subscription I am not receiving anything for the $35.95 only for the $16.95 which is the 4 boxes I have received (which the first one was supposed to be free and they still charged me for it) they keep on giving me the go around like they did in the emails and phone calls there is no admission of wrongdoing on their part. When I first tried the box I canceled the subscription right after I saw the $35.95 being withdrawn from my account because I wasn't receiving anything for that and I asked for the refunds for that amount I'm willing to pay the $16.95 even though the first one was supposed to be free but I am willing to pay for the four of them I am not willing to pay for the $35.95 which I'm not receiving anything for. On their website they announce that their boxes are $16.95 this seller was very vague in their answers here on PayPal and everything they said they did not address the $35.95 charge and what it was for they just said that those boxes were sent out and to check the tracking number, the boxes are at $16.95 not $35.95. There's no reasoning with them so I just rather escalate it to PayPal and for them to see the messages were we go back and forth and they're not making much sense as to what I'm getting for $35.95. Because like I mentioned in their website the boxes are announced at $16.95 so I don't know what the $35.95 are for.
Read all the fine print and be aware that you cannot cancel unless you pay through PayPal!
4 out of 2 repeated boxes and 2 other different ones. I gave the rest away!
I signed up for BabeBox with the free one-month trial.
I ordered it at the end of July - read the rules that you are charged for the month on the 1st or 2nd. When August 2nd rolled around, I assumed I'd been charged. When my first box arrived, I was disappointed in the products. I subscribe to a Canadian subscription box called TopBox, and it had a lot of the same products (albiet smaller sizes, which is fine with me) and is 1/3 of the price of BabeBox. Anyways, I tried to log onto the BabeBox website to cancel my subscription - and was met with the message that there was no account under my name/email. I tried to then sign up for an account through mobile, but the form does not work on mobile (and I didn't have access to a computer). I emailed customer service and explained the issue and asked them to help me cancel. It was only when I emailed them to cancel that they explained the requirement to pay for a second month/box. When I signed up, all the extra fees for shipping were clearly laid out - I'm in Canada - but no where did it clearly say I needed to pay for a second month in order to actually claim the first. That's not the actual issue though, I understand it and ended up paying for a second month, but the fact it was SO hard to find that detail seems deceptive.
I emailed customer service back and said "okay, that makes sense, I was supposed to be charged for my second (August) box so I'd like to cancel before I am charged for a third (September) box"
They NEVER EMAILED ME BACK. I followed up, but they never responded. I finally got access to a computer and was able to sign up through the website and cancel my subscription that way. T's completely ridiculous and unethical that you can "register" for a box, give the website all your details, and yet still not have a proper log-in for the site!
I checked my banking records and realized I have only been charged for one box, September (On top of a shipping charge for the 1st box) so I guess that because I signed up AFTER July 1st, even though I activated a membership in July, I technically didn't start/receive my first box until the month of August. This was never explained to me.
And holy cr*p, the sheer amount of spam emails from BabeBox/Focallure, telling me I have a special discount code/free gift if I purchase a product through the website, then an email telling me the code is expiring, and then another email telling me it expired! It seemed like I get at least 3 a week.
So in summary - while the products are OKAY, they don't differ that much from a subscription I already receive. The customer service is HORRENDOUS. Registering for the boxes/for the site is convoluted and difficult.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this subscription service.
Okay this company is a NIGHTMARE! I paid shipping for the free box and it wasn't shipped out. Less than a week later I was charged full price plus shipping for a second box. It was not shipped out. After another week I cancelled the subscription, which may have been my first mistake because things became very difficult from there. Several weeks had passed and I had not received an tracking information on the 2 boxes that I had been charged for. I emailed and asked what was going on. They told me that ti takes some time for their items to ship out because they have a 4 point check system to make sure that nothing was damaged or missing before sending things out. I replied, stating that was an unacceptable excuse and that they had enough time to do a 44 point check system. I stated that they had no problem taking my money but they were refusing to ship the products.
They asked me to be patient and continue to wait. So I waited another week. I emailed again, they asked me again to wait and be patient without even giving a half assed excuse as to why It hadn't even been shipped out yet. At this point it had been a month since I was charged shipping for the first box and just over 3 weeks since I was charged for the second one. I told them that this was an unreasonable request. They had worn out the right to continue to ask for my patience. They stopped replying.
I had paid by paypal. I went to the dispute centre. There was a lovely notice there from Focallure, threatening that if you dispute them on paypal, they will no longer cooperate with communication. They give you the option to allow them 1 last chance to rectify the situation by emailing *******@focallure.com (seems so legit) And that a reply would be within a few hours. Well I didn't receive that within a few hours. This was a Friday, so I gave it the weekend and nothing. By the end of business day on Monday, I hadn't heard a thing, so I started the dispute process.
After contacting them through Paypal the again asked me wait and be patient. At this point I was so livid. I told them that I no longer wanted them to ship the products, I wanted a full refund. It really didn't seem that they ever had any intention of shipping the products. The did not respond. I waited a couple of day. I contacted them through paypal again asking to be refunded. Nothing... so 24 hours later I contacted again stating that this would be the last chance they had to refund me before I escalated the claim. Again they did not respond. I escalated the claim to paypal and they refunded me within 12 hours.
Don't waste your time. Honestly. After I started to have issues I googled some reviews for this company and found pages and pages and pages of people details very similar experiences. Such a scam!
Alright, for starters, I ordered March 3rd.
I'll try to put a timeline of events in order.
- March 3rd, placed the order for the free BabeBox. $6.95 shipping.
- Sometime between March 3rd and the 15th, I message multiple times on Facebook. I have deleted those messages. I was blocked from their Facebook page and from messaging them
-March 20th, emailed and asked to have the subscription cancelled.
- March 23rd, received a response stating I had to pay for a second box. I responded immediately stating I wanted a refund for the free box and to cancel completely as the free box hasn't even shipped. They responded again, stating I had to pay for a second box again. I responded stating my box hasn't even shipped.
- March 27th, I get a response saying everything is delayed due to high volumes in orders and my box would ship in a few days.
I replied and threatened a chargeback.
-March 28th, I get a response stating it will ship within 2-3 business days.
- March 31st I tell them I will pay for the second box, but I want to cancel after I pay full price. I get a response stating it will be shipped in 2 working days.
- April 2nd I email again asking for a tracking number. I got an automated email.
- April 5th, I send another email asking for some sort of tracking number. I never did get a response.
Today, April 8th, I finally received the first box.
Now, I'm not an expert in makeup, but I do know bad from good! This makeup is worse than $1 stuff you can find at Dollar Tree. The eyeshadow palette is garbage. They do not blend, and 3 of the mattes are so light you can't even see them on my skin. They stink really bad, too. The mascara is NOT going to be put on, as it reeks of ammonia. The lip crayon is horribly pigmented and lasts all but 5 minutes on the back of my hand. The mermaid brush is cute, but definitely not high quality. I've seen the same ones on Wish. And finally, the Korean face mask is a toss up. Some Korean masks are fantastic, some are horrible.
Focallure is a SHOP on AliExpress, their main store is based out of CHINA! They have absolutely no regulations on what can an cannot go in makeup. It's literally a disaster waiting to happen.
My advice is just steer clear of Focallure and their products in general, especially the Babe Box. It is really not worth your time or money. It's $35 a month, with shipping and you get trashy China makeup. If you want a subscription box, there are several high quality boxes where you get name brand items. Do not fall for these people's scam and crummy products!
On October 26th, 2018, I decided to try out the "Free First BabeBox" (just pay S&H). I said, "Okay, this is cool. I'll just buy it, try it out, and see if I like it." Now, perhaps I just didn't notice, and I read right over it, but this is a subscription service. (I should've known!)
Anyways, it says the order will be shipped in 2-7 business days. Okay, I can deal with that. I go on with my life. About two weeks later, I realize that I still haven't received anything from them. Huh. Weird. I go into my email, and I realize not only have I never received a shipment confirmation email, but I never received a order confirmation email either, so I can't even look up my order number since I have no clue what it is. So I contact them. "Here's my information. I never received an email. What's going on?" It took quite a while to receive a response (definitely longer than most other places I've contacted). After approximately 3 days, I receive the response that most others have received: "We have a lot of orders, so it's taking a while. We'll get it shipped soon." Okay...? I'm alright with that, but maybe you guys should hire more people.
Well, I finally get the shipment confirmation the day after that. Cool! It should show up by the end of November. And it does! It shows up around the end of the month, around November 28th or 29th. (I should've kept the emails telling me about this order...) I never even got to use anything in this box, however, as I'm hardly home and have time for beauty care stuff while I'm in school.
And then, on December 3rd, I get an email: "Your order from Focallure Beauty is confimed!" I've been charged $31.95. Wait, what? I literally just got my box a week ago. I email customer service. "Hey, I really don't want this new order. I'd like to cancel my subscription and cancel this recent order and receive a refund." This email works with all other places. It should work for this store, too, right?
I wait. And wait. And wait. About 3 days go by, and no email. Maybe they missed my email and it got lost? I send them another, letting them know I emailed them earlier. I wait some more. And finally, a few days over a week later, I receive an email back on December 11th. The customer service representative addresses me with "Let me explain a few things first". Okay, whoa. No need to be so blunt and rude. I know the mistake was on my end. I just want you to complete my request. I let them know this, and they email back the next day with "Your request has been received. Please wait for our notification." Okay... I'll do some more waiting then.
4 days pass before I look at my account again. My most recent order says "Unfulfilled". Cool! Does that mean I'll be getting my refund? I email them. I don't get a response until December 20th. Basically, they say: "We will do our best for you to receive your package as fast as possible." Um... That's not what I asked for at all. I let them know this, and they tell me that they've escalated my request for manager approval. Uh... Okay...
December 21st, I receive an email: "A shipment from your order is on the way!" Great. Nothing got done. But I'm still waiting for my confirmation. I get an email from them the next day. "We can't refund you because the box has been shipped." Really?!
Okay, now I'm really upset.
I send them a lengthy email that tells them the timeframe I gave them to fix the issues, and how nothing got done. I'm angry, but I try to civilized. I ask if, when I receive my package, I can mark it "Return To Sender" and send it back to them, and then when they confirm they receive it, I can get my refund.
A week goes by before I receive another email. It's an exact copy/paste from the previous email they sent me. Excuse me?! Please stop being robots and fix my problem that I made you guys aware of a month ago! I ignore what they say and ask for a manager or superior to contact me immediately. 5 days go by before they email me a copy/paste of their "Let me explain a few things first" email. Great. Now they won't even talk to me. I email them again, once again asking them to fulfill one last request to either connect me with a superior or give me a phone number to contact them on my own time. The last email I received was at 8:30 AM CST, from Kate, a "Happiness Engineer", telling me that my subscription has been cancelled and to have a nice day.
I am beyond anger and displeased. I am not even close to happy with the service I've received from this company. I received the box about a week ago, and I still have it sitting on my desk, untouched and unopened, as I am hoping to have this issue resolved for me to send it back. I highly doubt it'll happen, though. In the end, I'll probably throw away the products because I want nothing to do with them, and I don't want to burden my friends with products from such a terrible, inconsistent company.
If you're not sure about signing up for a subscription service, do NOT sign up for their products. They will not fulfill your requests if you decide to cancel, and they will make sure to hold on to your every penny.
None of them. I decided to refuse to use the products because of their terrible customer service. I will not give them the satisfaction.
ADVICE: DO NOT WASTE TIME AND MONEY ON THESE PRODUCTS
I ordered once and had no hurry receiving the package, so I didn't really pay attention on the delivery time. I reviewed the products as very good, however, after few more applications of the waterprof lipstick I have noticed that not only it is not as smooth as once bought but it is not even enough for two months of (not even daily) applications.
However, since I had to fly back to Italy for the summer I thought of bringing gifts to my friends and order 75$ worth of products. After I paid, the exstimated time of arrival of the package was 2-7 days. I waited for 15 days and I contacted the company once, throught a chat on the website, the CS asked me to wait few more days (the flight was 6 days after). I, unfortunatley, did so. I later on sent at least two e-mails, one per day until the day of the flight, receiving no response AT ALL and when I asked them to cancel the order and reimbourse me they reply that the shipment was processing and they could not cancel the order anymore and they didn't even mention the reimboursement. I left the country and I will never know if someone will ever get that package, since, if I decide to go back it will not be in that house. My neighbour will probably have pretty racoons with mascara on their eyes, but I wil definitely won't get the pricy products I have waited for more than 20 days.
