“Stove Repair”

George M.
1/28/22

I phoned for service on an electric stove that wasn't working. The repairman provided excellent customer service and a very thorough evaluation of my appliance. We had a bump in the road getting the appointment set up, but I'm glad it worked out. The repairman apologized for the mis-connect and said "Customer service is what sets me apart" and I believe him. I'll definitely contact him again, and would recommend Maple Leaf Appliance Repair to friends.

“Buyer Beware is All I Can Say”

Melanie A.
3/6/24

We called this company for a stove repair. Firstly, the repairman seemed absolutely joyful that I needed a repair. He laughingly said "Oh oh, you're not going to be happy" in a sing-song happy voice. He then quoted me $1800 "but that includes labour," for one part, and $520 for another. He said "the estimate is good for one week." And THEN, this Maple Leaf guy has the GALL to put a tip function up on the screen for being at my house for less than 10 mins. SO, I called another repair company, and this company guy said that he does not know where Maple Leaf got those part prices. He said that the first part, the $1800 one, is worth only $400.00! And he said he will replace the $520 part for me for free. NEVER, EVER, EVER will I call Maple Leaf again. Buyer beware; do your homework before you pay anyone these days.

Booked for an appointment for Monday. 4-8.730 no show. Phoned got no answer. Requested booking for next day. Same time. Phoned to confirm that we had an appointment. 4-8.550 no show. Phoned. Sorry your appointment is tomorrow. Pardon me. We got an confirmed email and live an hour from work. Took half day off work. So no one will come today. Stay away. Does not appear to be local. Own a service and retail company. Stay away

Absolutely horrible company. Showed up on a same day request to look at a fridge. The only good thing there. Charges $150 for a service call, fine, no issue there, paid on the spot. Service tech was supposed to send over a quote his findings in an email after the service call. Never once received an email, aside from the invoice, in regards to any of the work we needed to have done for the repair. Called multiple times trying to chase them down to tell me what parts were required, when they would have them in and be able to come complete the work. Over the next 4-5 weeks I had to call 4 times, spoke to the same lady each time and all I got was she would contact the service tech, she would contact the owner and call me back. Never once did I get any sort of message back. They wanted $400 up front before they would even put the part on order, which was on the 5th call I had initiated that I was told that. You really think me having to chase you for 5 weeks after your service call, that I would pay you up front for a part that likely costs less than $100? Not that I would know since you came for the service call, took my money, and never follow up again. Absolute JOKE of a company. All they do is take your service call fee and disappear. Do yourself a favor and find someone actually willing to do the work. Horrible, absolutely HORRIBLE.

Tip for consumers:
Absolutely horrible company. Stay away, far away, they shouldn't even be in business.

We have an oven that's discontinued, and the manufacturer was out of the North American market. Given that parts were most likely not available, I told the representative that we only wanted to have a repairman come of parts are available.

We were assured that if the repair couldn't complete, we wouldn't be charged.

The repairman came in, eyeballed, and said the temperature control was broken. Then he told us parts were not available and that "it's not his problem". Charged us $130, against the guarantee we were offered over the phone/website.

Service was unprofessional. Will definitely not use this company again.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all cost.

Hi,

My name is Vlad and I am the owner of Maple Leaf Appliance Repair. I wanted to follow up personally and apologize for the bad service you have experienced. We work very hard to provide the very best service in the industry, but unfortunately running a business in today’s environment is challenging especially when you are providing a service that relies heavily on staff. Sasha is a new technician with us and still not familiar enough with all our procedures and demands for a quality service. I will make sure he is getting followed up in regards to this service call.
I once again apologize, this is not something that was supposed to happen. Please allow me to offer you a full refund as a compensation for this negative experience.
You can contact me directly at info@mlappliancerepair.ca

Best regards,
Vlad

Don't waste your time. Googled appliance repair and came to their site which advertised same day repair of all appliance brands. Called and spoke to them advising we needed this done quickly for a tenant. Receptionist said they could do that evening or the next morning and she'd call me back after speaking to the tech. No call. I called back in the afternoon and no answer. Left a voicemail and it's now 24 hours later and still no return call. So we wasted a day of our tenant's fridge being out of service due to calling on this company. I would avoid at all costs as very unprofessional company.

A-Repair Maple Leaf Appliance Repair is not a company that I'd ever call again. A $285 flat rate to fix anything is outrageous. My dentist doesn't charge that much. They promise same-day service, which doesn't happen and then they wait until they are in your house to drop the $285, plus tax, plus parts bomb on you. I paid the $100 for showing up and then said "adios." These guys run under two differently named web sites, so if they don't get you with one, they've got a good chance at getting you with the other one. Their review on their own site are loaded with "anonymous" five-star notes. Every other site shows more in the one-star category.

This is not a reputable company. They overcharge and are dishonest.
Coned a tenant to spend hundreds of dollars on an old stove worth nothing. Insisted he pay half before work was done even though he knew tenant did not have authority to commit to work but promised he could get a refund if not approved by landlord. Took half the money and was to return shortly as he had to pick up part at shop. Called later to say no part in stock so would have to order and wait. When we tried to cancel, they would not give back money paid in advance and said no cancellation and no refund.
Tried to claim that if they didnt have to order part they would not have required funds upfront. This was a lie as deposit was required before they knew they would have to order part. Owner was rude and as far as customer service or satisfaction, could care less about customer. Even though I was willing to pay service call, they refused to refund the money they took from the tenant. This was dishonest and unethical. Stay away!

Guy from this company cancelled the service appt last minute, and said they do not have anybody that can fix a fridge.

Simply asked us to call someone to fix the problem, and then hang up!

My refrigerator stopped working and contacted a company called "Maple Leaf appliance Repair " on September 30th. The repair company is based out of Coquitlam BC.

I described the situation, where, the company stated they would call the next day to confirm their attendance. The following evening, a repairman showed up at my home, unannounced in association with Maple leaf repair, but described himself as an A-repair technician. By then, I had already had another company assess the mechanical malfunction of my fridge.

As I attempted to cancel the unconfirmed appointment, the repair technician insisted I make payment to him for $105.00, as he had to attend the house call. He was very indignant that I pay this money to him, stating "I was legally obligated because I had not cancelled".

Uncertain about what my obligations for payment to the technician were in this situation, I instead attempted to diffuse the matter by obtaining a second opinion about the mechanical failure of my refrigerator. My decision to do this would prove to be a waste of money.

Unlike the previous technician that morning, the technician for "A-repair" was clearly not equipped to diagnose the compressor and or a refrigerant problem. He had no tools, or even measuring devices to rate the pressure of my refrigerant level.

After I described the symptoms of my refrigerator failure, the technician recommended I purchase a new fridge.

I paid $105.00 for this experience, and feel like a fool; I believe this business practice to be extremely corrupt.
