Slick salespeople, no one gets back to you, despicable company, Sorry we went with them. 1. The salesperson did not tell the truth about the loan we applied for. He said, that because of our great credit score, we qualified for no interest the first year; come to find out when we got our bill that we were paying interest! We called the financial office at And Services and told them what happened. They said they would get back to us and help us figure this out, but DID NOT. Repeated phone calls were made by us without ONE person getting back to us. 2. The salesperson did not know about the air conditioner he was selling, nor how it was going to be installed, because when we asked before we signed papers if the air conditioner could be placed on the same metal brackets that the previous air conditioner was sitting on due to flooding in that area; the salesperson said absolutely, but he had no idea what he was talking about. 3. When the workers came to install the air conditioner, they realized it was too heavy and our existing metal brackets would not work. The workers left, said they would be right back, and went on a wild goose chase to look for metal brackets capable of holding the air conditioner (they were gone for hours). The workers could not find metal brackets of any size anywhere! They came back visibly upset, apologizing for how long they took and telling us that they had to use 2 cement slabs, one slab as the base, then a set of cinderblocks, and then another slab on top of the cinderblocks where the air conditioner would sit. What? I need to repeat that, NONE of this was ever discussed when we asked about the metal brackets before signing the contract. Who knows, maybe this company might not use metal brackets, (no clue), or maybe we should have been told that the metal brackets could be ordered and we would have to wait until they came in. The workers had no choice but to relocate the area of entry into the house allowing for the wiring and pipes, because of the height difference between our metal brackets and the 2 cement slabs and cinderblocks. All this mess left a rectangle-shaped cutout into the stucco of our house where the old air conditioner wires and pipes were, (which we ended up having to repair ourselves), and the metal bracket hardware from our original air conditioner is still in the wall of the house. Unfortunately, because the salesperson didn't know what the heck he was talking about nor did he give us options as to how the air conditioner was going to be installed; those poor workers were stuck at the house until 11:00 at night from all day! A salesperson is supposed to know about the product he is selling or route the consumer to someone in the company who does know. 4. The project manager came over that day as well before the job got started, introduced himself, and stated that "if we had ANY problems emphasizing "any" to call him personally because they wanted "a good review". When we called him (several times) about all that was going on; we got NO response! Never a phone call back after leaving several messages. Perhaps, he might have known what to do! 5. Now, as I call frequently requesting for someone to get back to us as to how or if they are going to handle the money we have accrued from interest collected, we have received NO calls back, and amazingly No one is around to talk with. When we ask to connect us to the financial manager's answering machine we are told someone would get back to us. Wow, we are still waiting! The information that their infomercial spits out is a total lie... They are not reliable, knowledgeable, courteous, forthright, or professional. They all should be ashamed of themselves. We truly expected better and are beyond disappointed.
I recently responded to their advertisement of $79 for a clogged sewer line. I was somewhat sceptical to begin with because they have such terrible customer service reviews. When talking to the technician I was told that the special $79 rate was was only if an existing clean out was at home. OK, that's understandable. I said I wasn't sure if there was one or not but a did inquire as to rough estimare to put one in if needed. I was told depending on job it would be anywhere from $1500 to $2500 to do so. That is quite esxcessive. I was also notified that depending on project that a camera may be needed which could be another necesssary extremely high cost. Technician was then notified that there was in fact a clean out on site and therfor we wished to move forward WITH DRAIN CLEANING FOR $79. UNBELEIVABLY AT THIS POINT, HE SAID SINCE IT WAS RAINING, HE DIDNT WANT TO GET HIS EQUIPMENT WET SO OUR ONLY OPTION WOULD BE TO ALLOW THEM TO REMOVE THE TOILET TO GET TO DRAIN AND THAT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $500! There was no offer to come back after rain subsided. I doubt very seriously if this company ever did a clean out for only $79. We then said we would use someone else to which he unprofessionally repliied something to the effect that it better be a licensed plumber! Well it wasn't, I repaired clog myself in less than 5 minutes with a snake I purchased at home depot! As a licensed professional for over 40 years I find these type of business' deplorable. To pray on people in desperate situations with such incredible false advertising is in-excusable. I advise any one that encounters similar situations with this business or any other's that are so unethical to please report, write reviews. I am going to have my office post this on any related complaint web site we can find as well as reach out to not only the Better Business Bureau but to all the applicable governmental agencies that review these types of unethical business practices.
2019
On June 4,2019, a salesperson named Stacey was sent out to discuss our options. Since our units were original to our house (2006) and our electric bill was extremely high, we decided to proceed with the sale/installation. Stacy stated that we needed a new 2.5 ton (downstairs) and 5 ton (upstairs) unit. In July 2019, AND services was contracted to replace two AC units (air handlers and condensers) for our property. The removed units were a 2.5 ton (downstairs) and 3 ton (upstairs). The installation of the new units occurred on July 9,2019 by a tech named Osmel. The new systems included UV lights to help prevent bacteria growth. The inspection failed "(7/19/2019 11:37 AM) Condensers need to be turned for service ability look at installation manual. Don't understand why one unit is on hurricane pad and not the other Unit 1 doesn't sound like it is working correctly" per inspector (available on county records search). On July 23,2019, the new upstairs A/H was not working and leaked water through our kitchen ceiling. AND services returned on July 25,2019 to re-isolate the return box (was left with wood showing after install) and turn the condensers and change the disconnect box to pass next inspection. The new disconnect box is much smaller compared to the previous one and the service note states "handyman to repair wet drywall and fill the gap at new disconnect box for condenser with stucco" which was never done. On August 30,2019, the upstairs air handler was not working again and leaked water through our kitchen ceiling a second time. On September 20,2019, Randy came "TXV changed on both units and water collection pan and additional overflow switch added to upstairs return box. Services notes indicate that "painter for kitchen ceiling, you can see all touch ups, client not happy". Have discussed with Edgar who agreed to have entire ceiling painted but never followed through. On October 3,2019, the final inspection passed. I spoke with Edgar several times regarding the issues noted and a handyman came out to fix the paint on the ceiling from the water damage. He "feathered the paint" around the area to try to get it to blend with the rest of the ceiling. This did not work, and you can still see where the damage occurred.
2020
On April 19,2020, the upstairs air handler was not working because water had backed up and tripped the float switch which shut our upstairs unit off. July 10,2020, the upstairs air handler was not working because water had backed up and tripped the float switch which shut our upstairs unit off. On July 28,2020, water had backed up and tripped the float switch which shut our upstairs unit off. AND services said we needed a new condenser pump that would cost $800 to install. We paid for the premiere membership ($189/year) during this visit to cover the cost of the evaluation. We contacted another company for a second opinion on July 30,2020: "found to have high static pressure and overflow device attached to unit keeps filling up. Replaced float switch and added in line vent.
Recommended air duct modification or checking heat load calc for 2nd floor". Cost $150. We were also informed that the upstairs A/H was a 4 ton A/H matched with a 3.5 ton condenser outside. Spoke with Edgar, AND services manager on August 10,2020 to discuss being charged for a 5 ton A/H and having a 4 ton A/H installed. This was a large cost difference and Edgar issued a refund of $977. On August 14, we called AND services to review the findings from the second opinion and a tech from AND services, Rosario, came and found "when arrived found air handler all wet, high static PSI@. 7. Adjusted blower speed, static PSI drop to. 5". The blower speed was changed from high to low. On August 21,2020, Brian
M. From AND services preformed yearly maintenance on both units "coils and drain line cleaned". On September 18,2020, water backed up again and Jared from AND services was dispatched. He stated "cleared out very clogged drain line. This has been a big problem since we installed this system. Static pressure is. 5 and the system calls for. 5 so that is good".
2021
On September 16,2021, water backed up into the secondary pan and tripped the second float switch located in the upstairs air return. Victor M from AND services arrived and stated "drain line again clogged, dripping to secondary pan. Recommended pull and clean/new evaporator at $732". The drain line was cleared the night prior, September 15,2021 by my husband: flushing the lines with hot water and using shop vac on outside drain as well as removing 1 in of water from secondary drain pan. I called AND services and asked to speak with John Escalano? The GM but I was transferred to Edgar, manager. Edgar stated that it had been a year since the last issue so there was nothing to complain about. He stated service should be done every year, which was completed. He also stated that I never pay for any service and I was trying to get it for free even though we paid for the service plan on 7/28/20. John returned my call, and we discussed the timeline below. He stated that it was an obvious drain line issue. I informed him that I was going to have a second opinion and he replied "good for you. Every company will just throw me under the bus because everyone hates me because I am the best". On September 21,2021, we asked for the same company who did the previous second opinion to come out again as we have been continuously told that it is a drain line issue and AND services refuses to check any other possible causes. Previous second opinion AC company returned to inspect system again. Found "speed tap on blower motor set to low. Static pressure at low speed is. 505. Calculated to CFM from manufacture data equals 1,160. System requires 1,600 CFM@ 400 CFM per ton. System has drainage issues from high static. When set a medium speed static is. 621. Ductwork and space conditioned adequate for a 3 ton system. Currently has 4 ton A/H. Checked condensate drain line. Free from any obstruction. Holds water and does not indicate any cracks or breakage in line underground." Cost
$89.95. Discussed the correct way to fix this issue is to replace the 4 ton A/H with a 3 ton A/H. After the inspection on September 21,2021, I contacted John again to discuss the findings. I asked him four questions:
• What size A/H was installed upstairs?
• What should the CFM be?
• What should the fan speed be?
• Was my duct work size assessed?
John was unable to answer the questions or stated that he did not have the answers. He replied that "since I know everything, I should open an AC business". I told him that I do not believe it is a drain line issue and stated that they have not looked at other causes to the problem that we have had for two years since the new AC units were installed. John stated that Randy would be at the house on October 1,2021 to do an inspection. I then called back to ask for all invoices to be sent to me. On September 27,2021, received a call from Becky Lee in accounting and reviewed all concerns. She stated she would contact Justin Matthews, owner and return call. Also received emailed invoices from Edgar on September 27,2021. Spoke with Becky again on September 29,2021 and she had only spoke with Edgar and John. Discussed the issue again and she stated that she would speak with Justin Matthews by Friday October 1,2021.
*Date unknown: AND services back to look at upstairs unit and found that the drainage pipe leaving the unit is too long and causing water to collect between the unit and the outside drain. Pipe cut and pulled up to increase the angle of water drainage. This has decreased the number of backflow issues with the upstairs unit, but not completely fixed it.
Equipment installed:
• GSZ*******K- invoice states 3.5 ton condenser
• ASPT49C14A- invoice states 3.5 ton A/H; per Goodman spec sheet is a 4 ton A/H
• GSZ*******K- invoice states 2.5 ton condenser
• ARUF29B14A- invoice states 2.5 ton A/H; per Goodman spec sheet is a 2 ton A/H
2022
• May 30,2022, the upstairs unit was not cooling. Called AND services and Victor came to assess. Per service note "found capacitor dead and snake. Replace capacitor, unit is running and cooling. Amount paid for service was $323.00.
• Unknown date in August 2022, downstairs unit not cooling. AND tech came out to assess and found refrigerant low. Unit recharged and running. No other assessment for leak was completed.
• September 27,2022, downstairs unit freezing and not cooling. Called AND services and tech came to assess. Found refrigerant low again. Placed dye in system and recharged unit. Due to hurricane Ian, AND stated that someone would come back out to assess on October 3,2022. I never received a call or scheduling follow up. On 10/4/22 I called Edgar to remind him that we were supposed to have our unit re-assessed for a leak. On 10/5/22, Jose came out and found "bad EVA coil leaking, need to be replaced." Estimate to replace "replace EVA coil $1463". I called Edgar and left a VM to clarify why the price was so high. I also called AND services and was transferred to John (GM) who stated that the cost was for labor and materials outside the EVA coil, which is under warranty. I asked him about the yearly membership that we pay for with AND services covering the labor and he stated that it only covers maintenance and provides a discount.
Issues are still unresolved from AND services:
• Ceiling never repainted as promised by Edgar
• Stucco around electric box outside never filled/repaired from install in 2019
Brought our Trane unit from And in 2019. AND was supposed to come out and service our unit twice. The first service was done but the 2nd service did not happen due to covid. They still owe us a service. In the meantime they have had to come out because the unit wasn't working properly. AND still owe us a part for their tech rigged it the first time to keep it working. The second time we called the 24 hour emergency line we were told a tech would be out shortly. Six phone calls and three days later a tech arrives. Third time we called the 24 hour emergency service we were told a tech would be out in an hour. A tech did not show. Called again and was told that they called to let us know that a tech was not available and did not receive an answer. Asked how many times they called and was told once. A tech showed and stated he wasn't able to do anything because the unit was frozen and it needed to defrost. So the unit was turned on Fan to help defrost. Tech said someone would be out the next day. Next day arrives and a tech hasn't arrived. Called at 5:15 pm and customer service said that the manager Edgard would call in 20 minutes. 50 minutes later (yes I timed it) I called back because Edgard didn't return the call. I was connected to Edgard and told that no one would be out because he wanted to send his senior tech out and he was tied up on a job. The 24 hour service just became 72 hours without a fix. I asked why we were told a tech would be out in an hour the first time. He stated he had new staff and they were running behind. I said if that is the case than why weren't we told that and he stated "I would rather they give the incorrect information" WHAT?! Finally a tech arrives on the 4th day and we are told there is a hole in the coil and that the coil was under warranty but we would have to pay $1400 for the refrigerant and labor. Really? We have to pay for the refrigerant that would not have leaked had the part be checked upon installation for a leak. We have to pay for the labor of a warranty part that was a manufactured defect that they installed. Great customer service... Not! We were also told they didn't know how long it would take to get the part. Are you freaking serious! Hopefully our story will help others make a decision NOT to purchase from AND.
UPDATE: July 3,2023
They have filed 2 liens against my house.
Now I have to deal with taking care of this since what they have done is illegal.
This company does whatever they want to and when in communication with a service manager gets told one thing and their main office/owner does another thing that they have no clue about.
Per the liens the owner of the company signs them and that action is taken.
After doing a search online found that they have also filed several liens against other people for different types of amounts. They vary from hundreds to thousands of dollars.
Horrible! Horrible!
Avoid this company.
UPDATE: As of August 2,2022, no word from the company as to when the new AC ducts will be replaced. Now I have an AC unit that is useless since it is not cooling and working less than the old AC unit that was in the house that was from 2004. Been getting the run around from And Services.
Just purchased a house and got a quote from this company on July 26,2022, for a new AC and new AC ducts. Agreed to get on one of the better AC systems their sales person Luther McNall recommended. It is the Daikin Fit Whole House AC system. He also said that the new Ac ducts will be replaced the day after the AC is installed.
On July 27,2022, the AC was installed. Was told on the day of the installation by the that the air ducts can not be replaced the next day or that happens that quick. Based on this was lied by the salesperson.
After calling And Services to find out about this was told that the air ducts replacement can take weeks.
Now have a brand new AC that is useless because can not cool the house properly because in order to work as supposed to needs the new air ducts since the ones in the house are 18 years old, are very dirty, and they have not been properly maintained. Is no different than having the old AC.
The old AC that was also old and the original from when the house was built was not cooling and working properly not only because it wasn't properly maintained by the previous owners of the house but also because of the lack of ac ducts maintenance.
If knew about this would not have agreed to have an AC and new AC duct replacement with this company. Also would have planned for it by getting fans and/or portable AC systems in the meantime.
Is obvious that the salesperson lied to make a sale and also the company does not care much.
As of now this job is not considered completed until the ac ducts are replaced since is part of the sales/work order.
Wish can cancel all with this company and look for another company to deal with but can't since the AC system has been already installed.
Beware of this company selling tactics!
This has been my opinion based on my experience dealing with And Services.
