The overall reputation of Allrecipes has significantly declined, with many customers expressing deep dissatisfaction with recent changes to the website and app. While the platform was once praised for its user-friendly recipe search and community-driven content, users now report a loss of functionality, including the inability to sort recipes effectively and access saved content. Customer service has been criticized for being unresponsive and vague when addressing concerns. This shift has led to frustrations, prompting many users to seek alternatives, indicating a pressing need for the company to reassess its approach and restore valued features.

I echo many others who HATE the new site. It feels like being on the internet in the mid-90's. Slow, glitchy, horrible organization. This has always been my go-to ( I LOVED finding recipes based on ingredients), but, sadly, no longer. Off to better sites.
Have used allrecipes.com for years as both a paid and nonpaid member. I can't imagine how they think the new website is better. It is absolutely horrible. I've tried to use it many times. It's slow and cumbersome. Sad to lose such a great site.
I have been using their site for forever and so thankful to find this thread... I didn't realize the crashing and locking was because of Allrecipies and thought it was my iPad. I was on the phone with Apple for an hour just to find out it was All recipies. Ugh, I loved that site but not anymore. Please fix it.
Allrecipes has really messed up. Anyone ever try to sort recipes? Since '[categories' were added, I have been fighting with the system to find stuff. These folks cannot even alphabetize the categories not less the recipes within. Each time I try to search with the same criteria I come up with items not in the original sort, out of order (not alphabetic when specified by title), or not relevant to specific search item. Example: Chicken Soup yields Chicken Stroganoff. Go figure. I hate this site now.
Sent email to customer support - get the same nonsense back about javascript and cookies. I wonder who on earth is doing the programming? Something as simple as sorting is beyond the staff. Cannot sort the collection names created when you save a recipe - they are displayed exactly in the order created - last created, first on list. Cannot sort within a category. And my biggest pet peeve is not being able to find recipes saved prior to when they added collections. Printing with changes is a problem.
They need to drop trying to be a social network site and return to what worked. The pretty pictures just clutter my screen. A thumbnail in a list would be perfect. This site is SLOW. It is poorly designed using outdated technology.
I repeat: I HATE THIS SITE NOW!
Have been trying to like the new site for a while. It does not sort and organize like before - everything moves super slow while tons of ads load and it does not even search my recipe box correctly. I think I will print out my favorites and move on to other sites for new ideas. It isn't worth the effort any longer. Surprised that they are not listening to the complaints and trying to improve on them.
Please, please, please bring back the old format for this website! It worked sooooooo much better than this new one. Change is not always a good thing; sometimes it's better to just leave well enough alone.
I used to love allrecipes. It was like a small community of women/men sharing their family recipes. I went back recently and the site has changed- I'm surprised my recipe box is still intact. I had a very hard time finding it.
Pictures of the dishes are professionally shot- (they used to be amateurly-taken and didn't always look appetizing but were accurate).
The dishes seemed invented by the same few people- (presumably on the allrecipes team). Not by a community passing down their family recipes.
This site is a total money-grabbing sham. It's horrible how they've deviated from their grass roots and small community goals.
I used to log on to this site first thing in the morning and visit the blogs. These people were a family of sorts and now they are gone. They secretly want to be Pinterest.
On another topic, using Chrome I cannot expand a review, but I can on Firefox. Everybody having an issue with this, try another browser.
I know how to cook a handful of things, but I have learned so much from all recipes. Especially, the green juices and healthier recipes. The recipes I have found on there are easy and I like how they even tell you what ingredients are on sale at your local grocery store.
Can't read entire review on a recipe. Very frustrating. Why is this?
I just got on and I can not organize my shopping list like I use to. My only option is to delete. I have several personal recipes and all the ingredients go to the bottom. If I click on a recipe to add it then go back it rearranges all the recipes and puts me back at the top. Defiantly not user friendly anymore. I will be moving all my recipes to another site and closing out this account.
Can't read reviews, can't even read my notes I made on the recipes in my Recipe Box. Recommended to many previously.
I am sorely disappointed with your new web site. I can no longer access my saved recipes, and can no longer read the reviews. This was my 'go to site', but no longer. I keep checking to see if things have changed, but I am sorry to say - nothing good.
After years of entering recipes, writing reviews, blogging, and getting new ideas from this site, someone(s) on the allrecipes.com staff decided they needed to update their website. I'm only guessing they used 20-30 year olds who don't spend a lot of time cooking.
The updated site has the following problems:
Users can't access all the recipes they've entered onto the site.
Emails with a link to a new review of your recipe don't go to the review: they go to the recipe. From there, you have to find the "reviews" section on the page.
When looking for new recipes, users can't sort by recipe ratings.
Users who've posted blogs in the past can't access them.
Blogs are now filtered through their staff and, so far, the one I wrote about the problems I'm having with their new site hasn't been posted.
This used to be an incredibly user friendly site. Now, it's more focused on the look than ease of use and content. A perfect example of turning marketing over to those who haven't got a clue about what it's like to be a cook (or an iPhone user... but that's another story).
Dont call their customer service number... After listening to minutes of advertisements they say the number is changed
And then the other number is just ridiculous
I'll never order their magazine again
I used to love this site. Now, I can't print a recipe. What is up with that? This is the last place I will look for a recipe now. Sadly, it is just not working for me.
Update: This site has become tooo commercialized. Way too many ads and the competition has gotten much better. I have been using other sites that have far less traffic and the recipes are very creative and delicious.
Original: Allrecipes can turn you into the best cook on the block with thousands of recipes from drinks to main dishes and everything in between. So many to choose from and always a recipe for what you have a hankering for. Take my word, you will be surprised at what you can do with the help of this website.
Please stop putting the spoon stirring in all of your recipes. It is very annoying! I find myself not wanting to look at your recipes because of it!
What is up with this site? I used to sign on every day to find new and exciting recipes. Today I click on a quick pasta recipe and it's made with RAGU? Are you kidding? Many of the new recipes you highlight have things in them I have avoided for years. I assume you are doing this for advertising. So disappointing.
Answer: Same here. I think we've been defrauded. So much has gone bad with this formerly good site. Maybe time fot some class action.
