I contacted the Microsoft web page on 9/9/16 looking for a way to upgrade the drivers on my computer as it was booting up very slow. That web site directed me to Advanced Tech Support in Coral Gables, Florida. The person who answered the phone (Gus by name) did a diagnostic test on my desk PC and concluded that my PC needed a full system tune up. He told me that I had 158 unwanted programs on my hard drive. At that time my computer was fully operational, though slow to boot up. When I asked he told me that they are not affiliated with Microsoft but they do a lot of repair work for them. He also convinced me that their technicians could do the job $100 cheaper than Best Buys. The said their charge would be $269.99 and would take about 5 hours. He also recommended that I needed PANDA anti-virus protection even though I still had 3 months left on my subscription to NORTON 360. That would cost another $149.00.
He said they would make use of the Driver upgrades that I purchased from PayPro.
I agreed to those charges and allowed my PC to be turned over to their superior technical support person. That was the last time I was able to access my computer. They started working on it on 9/9/2016 and I fired them on 9/22/2016. Most of those days, such as:
9/9/16 2:30 pm to 9:30 pm
9/19/16 10:00 am to 12:40 am
9/21/16 1:20 pm to 11:00 pm
9/22/16 9:00 am to 12:15 pm
I was sitting in front of my computer following their instructions, doing the work I was paying them to do. I know of at least eight (8) persons who worked on my computer, in cyber neverland, during those 13 days. Changing, changing and re-changing the computer codes. People named Darren, John, Kevin, Daniel, Chrystal, Mathew Odain and Kevoy.
The conclusion was that when they upgraded the drivers on 9/9/16, the driver for the mouse and keyboard were deleted and my PC was not compatible with the new drivers purchased from SafeCart. Since I could not find the original Windows 7 disk, the only solution was to take the program off and install Windows Vista Ultimate with that programs drivers. Once that was done all I would have to do is re-install all my programs, contacts, Yahoo Mail, Facebookpictures, etc. A living hell for sure. Only after 13 days of repeated shutdowns and restarts, test runs, endless scans, etc. today I was informed the hard drive has failed. My computer (Dell XPS 360i) which cost me over $2,000 and which Gus assured me should last many more years because it had 4096 MB of memory, 800 MHZ speed, and a 2.83 GHz processor is now trash. I had to buy another computer today.
Not only will I not pay them anything, I wish I could collect some money for my new computer and for the countless hours I spent doing their work at my house.

Advanced Tech Support is essentially a fake tech support company. These types of scams were the topic of an article in ComputerWorld in May of 2014. They stalk and prey on uninformed users taking them for hundreds of dollars, selling them software that they do not need, gaining unmonitored remote control access to personal and private systems and in many cases asking for personal passwords to email accounts. No legitimate service will ever ask you for you password. Microsoft will never cold call you to sell you support. The service is bogus, borderline criminal, dishonest. Just hang-up.

I signed up because I had malware that I could not remove. BIG MISTAKE! First, they wanted $200, then $100 for Panda protection. Then they would fix my computer. I gave them control at 5:00pm. At 10:00 am the following morning, I was able to access my computer. No change in the problem I presented. Called back. Another technician did some trouble shooting. While this happened, I could see the malware name in the registry. The technician said it had to be referred to upper level tech. I gave control of my machine. When I returned 3 hours later, I called. They said the machine was still hooked up and for me not to use it. Another day without a computer. The following afternoon the machine was still busy. I listened to my answering machine. Their tech had called before I called in the evening before and left a message he did not know what I wanted him to do. Please get in touch with them. That is 24 hours the machine sat unattended and I did not have its use. Third time is a charm? WRONG! This time I waited just a couple of hours and checked. The machine still behaved as it did before ever turning it over to them. I canceled the transaction and asked for a refund. This was granted without question and they said the money would be returned in 3-5 working days. Now, the problem. They SCREWED MY COMPUTER ROYALLY. Someone set it up to suit his or her purpose without regard to how I use my computer. Here are some changes made, any one of which causes the machine to not function right. Together, the machine is a basket case.
•. Pst files had a mis-match so Outlook would not work
• Word files did not allow a folder to be created to store new work
• They redefined what programs would work in three different places, turning them off here and there so they did not work at all.
• Removed one program I use all the time because it said Spam. This is a special spam folder for Outlook.
• Turned off the works for Roboform, my password program, so it doesn't work
Almost every program I use has been tweaked so it does not work properly. I have to go through all the controls and find which one they disabled in order to make it work after a restart. They have caused me to lose at least one-week's worth of work trying to repair their procedures. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. One of their advertising promos stressed that all technicians are level 1 and above Microsoft certified. They operate out of Boca Rotan, Fl. If all their help lives in Florida, there are sure a lot of people who do not speak English so that it can be understood. Portraying itself as an American business with American trained workers does not match the experience I have had with the people to whom I spoke.
To Whom It May Concern:
I would like you to be aware of a site that is performing PC tune-ups, Advanced Tech Support.
On 4/4/2013 I was having problems with my PC running slow. So I picked out a PC tools program on the internet called PC Helper 360, paid $39.95 and had it do a scan. PC Helper 360 came up with over 1000 issues, when I selected fix, I assumed for $39.95 it would fix as well, not just diagnose. PC Helper 360 only fixed 10 of the issues and then it said "press this button for all to be fixed with the PC". I expected to be directed to a page to buy a full version of PC Helper 360, however, it redirected me to Advanced Tech Support, who said they could fix all the issues for $150.00. In my book that is a deceptive practice. I was looking for a simple fix, I was frustrated and just wanted by PC fixed. So I paid the $150.00 for Advanced Tech Support to remote into my PC and do the work.
On the first alleged cleanup/tune-up the tech at Advanced Tech Support did something you never do since the internet started and viruses began, he disabled my firewall for 4 hours while fixing the PC using shareware internet programs. Of course the worse thing happened sometime during the 4 hours they let a strong Trojan virus into my PC and it corrupted almost all of my systems and applications. They also stripped a lot of my. Exe files and I was not able to properly use the PC. I called in over a dozen times over what they removed and they did 3 additional PC tune-ups in the 7 days since that initial alleged cleanup/tune-up, that let the Trojan in.
I told them that the process they are using is BAD and that they were striping Windows files, and when I questioned the supervisor over the help desk whether the techs were Microsoft Certified (up to date) doing the work... The supervisor would not answer me. Very unprofessional work was done by Advanced Tech Support, and because of their incompetence I lost programs, Windows databases, and lots of personal data, because their only fix was to restore my PC back to a several weeks ago backup.
Advanced Tech Support is destroying Microsoft files in there clean-up process. Something has to be done! People are being funneled to this company from PC Helper 360 and they charge you for messing up your PC.
Please, is there something that can be done about Advanced Tech Support and PC Helper 360 and their costly, unprofessional, destructive, and deceptive practices?
Thank you for anything that can be done. This email will be posted on Facebook and sent to anyone who monitors sites and practices on the internet.
Thank you for your time.
