EWU is bragging about their tuition reduction for 2015-2016. Full time resident students can now save $106/quarter. What they're not telling you: first year students (freshmen) are now required by law to live in and pay for the dorms and mandatory meal plans up to $12,875/year! That's a $12,557 hike in education costs!
EWU needs a law to force first year students to live in the dorms because they can't compete with their sub-standard housing that is more than twice the cost of what's available in Cheney. Whether students can afford it or not, the university just loads them up with debt. That explains why 1 in 5 student loans are now in default. Guess who's paying for that? Taxpayers. YOU! (FYI: Student loans are exempt from bankruptcy. That means, you will have to pay that back no matter what!) This is the new normal: Government Forcing Us to Pay for Products We Don't Need or Want!
