Academi

Academi is the company formerly known as Blackwater and Xe services. They provide private security services (protection, training, etc.) to companies and governments. Founded by Erik Prince, they were very successful at defending American officials in Iraq and in other dangerous parts of the world but were also accused of misconduct and acting essentially as a private militia, private army and as mercenaries. John Ashcroft, former US Attorney General now sits on their board and Prince has taken a less public role. Will Academi make the US military more competitive and efficient? Perhaps.
