I ordered a Weber Summit E-670 Grill via their website (abctvs.com). At the time I ordered the grill on 4 Nov 19, I did not get a final review of the charge or email verification. I then planned on calling the next day to confirm the order. However, I was called by the sales representative Joe prior to me getting a chance to talk to a sales rep. Joe asked me if I wanted the propane version or direct gas line version. I told him the propane version as it was annotated on the order for $2,099 plus tax. Which was the first interesting part as I stated initially, no final bill to review with taxes after I provided my credit card number. When I confirmed the order with him when we spoke, he stated there was an upgraded version of the Summit E-670 Grill (2019 Year) which was different from the one I ordered (2018 version) which was $2,099. According to him, this 2019 Model had the 2 Grill Out handle lights and Lighted control knobs which the 2018 Model did not have. He also stated the 2019 one had a heavier/stronger metal and it would be delivered almost fully assembled. For those reasons he provided, I did choose to upgrade for $2,149 (increase of $150) before taxes. After I did some research, I called him and told him I noticed on their website that both descriptions for the 2018 and 2019 version were identical, but I'm paying $150 plus taxes more for the same features. Hence, I told him I no longer saw a reason for purchasing the more expensive 2019 model that is identical to the 2018 model. He stated the website is incorrect and he would get it updated because the 2018 version did not have those features. After the grill was delivered, I was trying to register the grill for the warranty on 19 November but needed the serial number for the grill. The serial number was removed from the box, the grill, and the owner's manual. There seemed to be something shady going on here and I'm not sure what and why. I became more suspicion and I contacted Weber.com directly and inquired about the differences with the 2018 and 2019 Models. I was told both are identical. After further researching "Reviews" for abctvs.com, this was a typical and well-known bait and switch-type deal that many customers encountered from this company where an upgrade was charged that was not actually an upgrade. I texted Joe and told him about the missing serial number and that there were no differences between the grills. Hence, I told him I would like the serial number so I can register the grill and the $150 refund. If he cannot accommodate, I asked him to please arrange for the return and a pick up for the grill and my full refund. I asked him how he wanted to proceed or call me. I never heard anything back from him.
I ordered an LG OLED TV on Labor day (Monday). I got an automated invoice that had the model number and the price and my information. No payment information or estimated shipping information. I waited Tuesday to get a shipping confirmation email, but did not receive one.
I called ABCTVs.com on Wednesday, waited about 5-6 minutes and a salesman answered. He looked up my order and transferred me to "Jack". Jack brought up my order, then said "Looks like you ordered the 8-bit OLED. You're ordering this for a business, right?". I've never heard of a 8-bit designation for a TV, nor did it state anywhere on their website that this was anything but the actual TV that you see in stores. Jack proceeded to say, "8-bits are not as bright/clear as the 10-bit models. The 10-bit models are what retailers like Best Buy sell. 8-bit models are for businesses. If you wanted the 10-bit model it will be $400 more." I was caught off-guard, and didn't want to agree without knowing I was getting a "deal". I asked about a 10-bit version on a different series of the OLED. He stated he could get me a new one for $60 more than what I originally agreed to pay (originally agreed to $1339). The TV would be new, original manufacturer packing and he would throw in a wall mount. He then told me the TV would arrive by the weekend and I should see an email with the tracking number. I got the email, it estimated delivery on Friday.
Friday comes, the TV arrives. I open the boxes carefully. The Styrofoam pieces are broken and falling everywhere. There was Styrofoam debris all over the TV. There was no TV wall mount included. The REMOTE was missing! The TV stand had visible damage. I turned on the TV and used a universal remote to test it out. The image looked fine, no burn-in. Initially, I didn't see any damage to the TV itself, but once I cleaned the Styrofoam off, I discovered several areas on the screen that had scuffs/scratches. I tried calling ABCtvs.com, but it was Friday evening and they were closed until Monday. I emailed them on Friday and Saturday asking for assistance. Today is Tuesday, and I have yet to get a reply. Did I get the right TV model? Yes, they sent me the correct TV. But everything else was not true. 8-bit and 10--bit? Why cloak this on the website unless you are scheming to up-sell people on the phone?
Two stars? I gave them two stars for sending me the correct model TV and shipping it to me quickly. I've ordered a replacement LG magic remote through Amazon. And bought a wall mount through Harbor Freight. In addition to the $1399 TV, I paid another $100 for a remote and wall mount that should've been included.
At the end of the day, I saved maybe $400 by buying this used TV with scuff marks instead of buying brand new through Walmart.com or eBay. The TV seems fine otherwise, and I don't notice the marks when watching the TV. If I did it all over again, I would've bought elsewhere. It's possible you may order and receive exactly what you're after, but I wouldn't recommend it. BUYER BEWARE of ABCTVs.com customer service. If ABCTVs.com responds or rectifies my problem, then I will update my review rating accordingly.
I can't and won't speak to bad reviews but will share my own experience. To be successful shopping online with the goal of getting the rock bottom lowest price you better do your homework and understand with consumer electronics there are gray market options that means you'll make sacrifices so be clear on what you can and can't live with before making a decision. With my recent purchase of the LG C8 65" OLED TV a site search clearly identified 2 options for the model. I wanted to understand the differences so called ABCTV customer service to get clarification. A short hold time and I reached the Sales Department and the gentleman I spoke with was quite specific with the details and at no time attempted to up sell me the 'Consumer Panel' version though it was clearly what I wanted. I placed the order securely online with the $25 credit applied and while the TV price included FREE SHIPPING I opted to pay an additional fee for Second Day service. I have learned over time that the longer a package is in the distribution system the greater the likelihood of there being issues, all of them bad. I made a second call regarding the actual delivery option and while I prefer to pick up items like this from a local shipper hub rather than have it bounce around on a local delivery van the customer service rep was reluctant and I agreed to take the delivery at my home. To make my point when the carrier arrived and was unloading the carton, no small feat, from the back of the van the bottom of the box was unsecured and a piece of the packing foam fell out into the street. Again this has nothing to do with ABCTV but is typical, more with UPS but often times with FedEx too. The good news is the this was a box in a box packaging so the actual LG carton was intact and showed no signs of damage. Overall I'm quite satisfied with the experience and feel I received excellent service. I made an informed decision and got exactly what I paid for at a price below market. There's work involved and if you aren't prepared to do it then go to SAMS CLUB, COSCO, BEST BUY, Walmart, whatever but be prepared to pay a higher price even before state and local sales tax which on a $2000+ purchase gets in your pocket for another 7 to 11 percent or more depending where you live. A final piece of advice regards unpacking a large format OLED TV. The box very wisely includes specific instructions with illustrations on how to get the panel out of the carton and to it's location in your home. I strongly suggest following the directions to the letter as these TV's are mostly glass and delicate to say the least. If you're not comfortable with DIY... hire somebody who knows how and save yourself a lot of grief. And YES, I would recommend ABCTVS.com to a friend I intended to keep a friend.
